Aminah (Between Ex & Future)

The two are now sitting side by side with a bag that was deliberately placed in the middle by Aminah so as to make a distance between them. Silence enveloped the two for a moment, as if letting the rain bring back their memories. The difference is, the two were so warm and there was no distance separating.

"Five years ago, I'd been sitting here all day." Dani opened the chat after taking a sip of his drink.

While Aminah was still down, staring at the glass that had not tasted its contents.

"That day, I purposely followed someone sitting on the shore. He went to the beach alone, but usually he could not go alone anywhere. But, I know why, because in his own time he was free to cry without having to think about the hearts of those around him." Continue Dani.

Aminah bit her lower lip slowly. He knows who Dani is talking about.

"I could only see him from afar, because I knew he was very hurt. I don't want to make him hurt more, if he suddenly appears in front of him. I saw many times his hands raised to the face, either to wipe the tears that would spill or to cover the face, then his shoulders seemed to tremble slowly. But many times he also raised his face as if to show that his heart was strong." Say Sani again.

From the end of his eyes, Aminah glanced at Dani again sipping a drink.

"I know it's very broken. And most of all, I could no longer comfort him like I used to, stroking his head and saying 'calm I'm here, I'm always there for you' or just buy a chocolate that he said was very effective in treating his sadness." A heavy sigh was heard from Dani. "Where I stand looking at him, my heart is no less broken."

Aminah continued to be silent to hear every speech that came out of Dani's lips.

"Logic was at war with my heart at the time. And I chose to take it off, even though it was so stifling, like losing half my life expectancy. But the problems will only get bigger if I keep it going." Dani paused his words again. "On the other hand, the consequence I received was that he did not want to meet me at all and would not listen to all my explanations. It is better not to know than to know and to add to the wound. He also cut off all access with me." Continue Dani.

"Enough ...." Aminah's lips twitched slowly. "I don't want to talk about the past anymore. Everything is finished and does not need to be revealed" said Aminah Lirih.

'Let the story evaporate with the pain and all the memories.' continued Aminah in the heart.

"Our past is finished, but not our future, Aminah." Reply Dani who looks to change his sitting position to face Aminah.

"I don't want to hope for anything anymore." Aminah.

"I didn't come for no reason, I was desperately looking for information about you all along. When I hear you are still alone, honestly .. who I feel happy to mix sad. Glad that there's a chance for me to fix everything and sad that it's all because of my mistake." Reply Dani.

"When I saw you at Nana's Ma'am's stall, I couldn't believe it. Just a few minutes ago, I prayed to see you soon. Isn't this destiny?" Dani's Saying.

'And this fate sometimes makes me a dilemma.' Aminah's inner self.

"I know you hate me so much. I'm self-conscious, but I don't want to lose you again for the second time either. Let me fix everything, Aminah. If indeed later your heart is still not open to me, at least I have tried hard to get your heart again. Although I knew it would not be easy, because I realized that the old Aminah had changed." Say Dani again.

'You made me change!' yelled Aminah in the heart.

"The first time I saw the look in your eyes yesterday, I realized you were no longer the Aminah you used to be. Your coldness, your indifference, and your assertiveness, are far compared to what they used to be" Dani continued.

Aminah realized that. He's even more secretive and reluctant to open his heart to anyone since five years ago. Because there was still a wound, so that made him afraid of heartbreak again.

"Everything's fine, but ever since you heard about the divorce and your appearance, my life hasn't calmed down." Aminah said at last while playing a glass whose contents began to cool.

Again a heavy sigh was heard from Dani.

"Sorry." Dani's Saying.

"Can I ask for help?" Aminah Pinta.

"Say. Whatever it is it must be–"

"Stay away." Aminah said before Dani finished his speech.
