CHAPTER 17 Aletta's Decision to Open a Case

Dioneel sat in the living room, his gaze blank and his mind filled with confusion. Since meeting Aletta and learning the truth about Arsen, she reveals that she intends to reopen the case of a horrific incident after a wild race that has haunted her brother for years. The incident that had ruined the life of Arsen, his good friend, and left a deep scar on his heart. Dioneel felt mixed. I'm not sure if this is the right decision or not.

He took a deep breath and decided to contact Aletta. Dioneel knew he had to talk to her about this decision, to seek understanding and gain clarity.

“Halo, Darling. There's something I want to talk to you about. You busy?” ask Dioneel who knows that Aletta is working at the moment does not want to interfere.

“Hai, Dioneel. What's up?” answer Aletta.

“I want to discuss about your decision to reopen the case of the incident. I'm a little confused by this decision, to be honest.”

“I know this might surprise you. But, Dioneel, Arsen still suffered great trauma as a result of the incident. I feel responsible for trying to uncover the truth and help Arsen in his healing process.”

“I understand that you care about Arsen, we all care about him. But, are you sure reopening this case is the right path? What can we do now after so long?

“I understand your hesitation, Dioneel. But all this time we just tried to forget about the incident and let Arsen struggle alone with the trauma he experienced. I can't keep pretending that everything's okay. He needs justice and truth.”

“But what if we just aggravate the situation? What if facing it again even makes it even more ruined?”

“I don't want to see Arsen suffer, Dioneel, but I believe that he has the strength to deal with it. With our support, maybe he can find the calmness and recovery he's been looking for all this time.”

“I'm worried about the consequences of this decision. What if there are people who don't want the truth revealed? What will they do to stop us?”

“That's a risk we should take, Dioneel. But if we let fear take control of our lives, then the truth will remain buried and Arsen will be trapped in the shadows of his past. We must be ready to face any challenges that may arise.”

Dioneel pondered for a moment.

He spent this entire day filled with deep unease and worry. He was at the Death Squad headquarters, however, today, the calm and peace he usually found here was disturbed by a single thought that never left.

Aletta, the woman who had captured Dioneel's heart, was the one she loved so much. However, fate brings them together in difficult and dangerous circumstances. In his past life, Dioneel was involved in a case involving Arsen as well as Max, a dangerous figure and the leader of a group of disgraced gangsters who haunt the city.

“Boss,” Pietro came to him.

“What's up?” answer Dioneel.

“There is coming,” replied Pietro with a vigilant face.

Dioneel stepped out of his room and met his guests.

“I didn't go into it, I heard Aletta intends to reopen the incident case after a wild race that left Arsen traumatized. He wants to seek justice for Arsen and help in his healing process.” Axel said this with a sharp look at Dioneel.

Axel paused for a moment, digesting the information he had just heard. He pondered for a moment and then replied in a calm voice.

“I know you want to help Arsen especially your lover, Aletta. But was this really a wise decision? We all know how difficult the process is. What if this worsens the situation? Not only Max and his gangsters but also we will be checked!” Axel said it this time with a growl.

“I understand your concern, Axel. But, if we don't take action, how will Arsen be able to recover fully? We can't keep hiding the truth and hope everything will be fine.” Dioneel insisted on supporting Aletta.

“Then what if there is a risk involved? What if the people involved in the incident tried to stop us? Before the apparatus completes it!”

“Listen Axel, that's also what worries me. Did you come here as a friend? Or remain as a rival?” dioneel asked with sharp narrowed eyes.

Axel thought for a moment, weighing all the arguments that had been conveyed. He knows that this decision is very important and has a big impact on all of them.

“Alright, I have no choice. It's a complex and difficult situation, but we have to deal with it together. Max is not an enemy you can ignore, Dioneel! Let's plan well and be next to Arsen throughout this process.” Axel answered with a grunting face, showing that this decision was not entirely his heart's desire.

“Thanks Bro, this is a big step you're taking. I'm sure with our cooperation, we can achieve justice for Arsen and keep our gang safe from Max.” Dioneel.

“Gue hates to say it, but if this is best for everything. I hope this will be a way out for all of us and especially to be able to destroy Max!” Axel said it with a growling tone.

“Deal!”

“Deal!”

The two gang leaders finally reached an agreement, Pietro who witnessed the act smiled proudly at the change.
