Aira And Aria

Aira And Aria
5. Dreams and Hope

I don't know since when Monday became so I waited. It's not that I'm such a child with lessons, but I feel like there are things that make my day unusual. The reason is Aira.

As the daytime break bell rang, my feet quickly stepped towards the library. “Learn for more scholarships, lo?” ask Bimo not to lose fast.

“Yes, sorry, Bro can't eat together anymore!” I walk outside the class. I'm afraid Bimo is getting suspicious

and just follow me. Before that happened, I darted as fast as I could from the classroom.

However, I was a little disappointed that the person I was looking for was not at his base as usual. Made me shut myself up to be quiet in the library that suddenly became as boring as it used to be. But I'm sure Aira entered the school today, having seen her just walking through the school gate this morning.

I wanted to ask his classmates, but it would definitely steal the attention of many people. So, I tried to guess where my new friend was right now.

Curiosity led me to step into the cafeteria just to find someone who wasn't there either. Until somehow my feet continue to step to the side of the school, which is actually very rare for anyone to come there. Because there is nothing, other than a small garden used by a biology club to grow plants.

“Ah!” I cried spontaneously when I saw a figure in the distance.

Who would have thought that someone was sitting on a bench under a tree there? And who would have thought that that figure was the person I was looking for? Unknowingly my lips smiled happily.

I walked closer slowly. From a distance, I could already see the figure of Aira who was in focus with her drawing book and pencil. But I still can't catch what he's drawing right now. Until I finally reached the back of the bench where he sat, still with an unconscious presence.

I could see a painting of a bird flying in the sky. I never thought Aira had such a talent. Even from earlier he continued to smile while unceasingly scraping the pencil skillfully. It was as if he was enjoying the activities that were being done, to the point of being immersed in his world like that.

“Ingin can fly free... is that what it means?”

Aira who looked very surprised immediately stood up to drop her picture book on the ground. I want to apologize and laugh at that expression. “Sorry, suddenly appeared,” my comment while grinning and picking up the book.

While Aira exhaled a breath of relief while stroking the chest.

“You're surprised I've seen ghosts.” I finally couldn't bear to not laugh. “I love so much I'm the same picture.”

Hearing my comment, Aira immediately looked panicked. He hurriedly snatched the book from my hand and held it tightly. As if not want to let me see it—entah because of what. He shook his head, a sign of disagreeing with my opinion just now.

“Why? I like it, you know. You seem talented to be a painter,” added me again while sitting on a long bench. “Ah! Is that maybe your goal?”

Aira who was still standing just fell silent before finally sitting next to me. He opened the very back page of his picture book and wrote down something.

‘What so painter is that strange ideal?’

He lifted his book almost to cover his face. Only his eyes could still be seen behind the books. Highlighting me with a look expectantly got an answer from her question just now.

Aira nodded quietly while agreeing. There seemed to be something that made him not confident in his dream.

“So that was your dream? If you care about your talent like gini, you can certainly exist, kok!”

It turns out that talking to people who can't respond is one thing that is quite difficult. We cannot catch what our interlocutors think of our speech. But, on the one hand I can better understand that a person's mind can also be clearly visible on his face. As of now, I was capturing the look on the face of someone who was hesitating thinking about his dream that seemed to be hindered by something.

“What does the bird in the picture mean you?” spontaneous talk. Aira immediately turned her head quickly towards me. I'm sure my words were correct. “Is there anything that keeps you constrained, and hopes to fly free like that bird? Hmm... yes, yes,” I nodded. “Cool are my words?”

I turned my head towards the girl beside me while grinning as usual.

This time it was my turn to be surprised to see tears running through Aira's cheeks. “Eh, you why?” I asked in panic. “I was wrong?”

Aira lowered her head while shaking rapidly.

‘I'm glad anyone understands.’

Thank goodness the tears were not the result of sadness, it was just a form of pleasure— that made me really relieved. Now I leaned on the back of the chair, looking up at the very clear sky. Lucky a shady tree shade us so no need to burn the scorching sun.

“Don't be discouraged by your dreams, Ra. I've always admired people who have dreams. Who always have hope and ambition. I am scared sometimes too. I dare not talk about dreams to anyone. I'm afraid others will laugh if they know my dreams sound too grandiose. But that is the purpose of a dream. Silencing the mouths of those who trivialize by means of realizing the dream.”

I can't believe I've spoken at length. The last time I tried to express thoughts like this was while still dating Mira. But all that should stop in the middle because it seems Mira does not like people who fantasize too often like me. He only likes people who have a clear future. It was enough to never be me when I was with him.

“You know, Ra? I had a dream from a small. One day I want to be an astronaut. I also want to fly through the sky, even higher, so that I can see the Earth from space. I want to land on the moon, even on planet Pluto!”

I saw Aira laughing at my story.

“Kok, did you dream of me?” my god, instantly made her stop laughing and apologize. This time I laughed. I patted his head slowly which kept looking down. “Home.”

‘Keren! You can be an astronaut!’ write it quickly. He held out his right thumb while smiling widely.

“You're afraid of not staying high, Ra?”

Aira shook her head and tilted her head while asking.

“Let me take you to space, so you can paint the moon up close.”
