Aira And Aria

Aira And Aria
2. The Beginning of the Meeting

Today has been one of the most boring days for me throughout High School. But for most students, it becomes a lot of fun because no teacher enters the classroom. As always, the first day of the new semester is always like this. Sometimes I myself am confused as to why we are locked up in the school if allowed not to study.

The break bell rings. But I was in the cafeteria first. Somewhat stole the time before this place was crammed with other children who had just arrived. I could even hear the footsteps of some of the people who were coming closer. Before I felt uncomfortable, so I brought some fried food that I hadn't had time to finish and walked away from the canteen.

My tears welled up in the corner of my eyes as I yawned. I really want this day to end quickly.

‘Bugh.’

Someone hit me who wasn't paying attention to the road. “Sorry,” I said spontaneously, while looking at the person.

A long-haired woman in her new-looking High School uniform was there. He said nothing, only slightly lowered his head before proceeding quickly towards the canteen. A little pissed me off.

I had just stepped back a few times, someone blocked my path all of a sudden. I don't know why no one understands that I need peace for today.

“Denger-denger lo broke up with Mira?” Rio's annoying face is very close to my face. I really want to put that face on.

“Iya,” my response is short.

“Good. Finally he realized also had been dating the wrong person.” He slightly laughed as he glanced at the two friends who were behind him. Or more precise if called ‘anak fruit’.

“Iya, thank goodness yes.” I intend to ignore Rio and return to walking. But the man still seems not satisfied bothering. His hand quickly grabbed the front of my shirt. No matter if there are some people who start looking at us while whispering.

“Lo where to go, huh?”

“If you want to pee, brother want to come?”

Both Rio's men spontaneously laughed. But it immediately went back to silence when it got a sharp gaze from the boss.

“Denger, yes! Now you and Mira have nothing to do. So don't you bother me again!”

This time my body was slightly crushed. Fortunately, I didn't fall and steal more people's attention. Rio and his two friends had already left, and I continued walking leisurely while holding back the fortunate emotions that could still be controlled from earlier.

Yeah, I can hold it. Until someone hit me from behind. I turned around quickly while yelling. “Lo has no eyes, anyway?!”

But who would have thought that the one behind me was the same person I had collided with earlier as well. I never had any bad intentions with a younger brother. But this time my emotions were unstable, and the boy had to be the victim of my outbursts of anger.

“This is the second time. I don't care if you're in a hurry or why. But be careful dong if the way!”

Again the girl just looked down while giving a guilty expression.

“I don't like ya. You're still just believing this. Didn't say sorry anyway. Where's the manners?”

This time he closed both palms. I understand he's apologizing, but somehow it's getting weird. He still didn't say anything, but he seemed to be in a panic.

“Hah..” I exhaled a long breath. Trying to get rid of all the emotions that have been vandalized. “What's your name?”

The long-haired girl showed a name tag hanging in front of her chest. 'AIRA' is the name written there. Instantly I remembered the story of Cepi earlier, about the girl who could not talk. Who would have thought he'd be the first grade kid I spoke to the first. And who would have thought this conversation would continue, to a level never thought of before.

***

The first five days of the semester have passed. Today is the sixth day, and the last day of orientation

new kids. From the day after, they no longer need to hold an ugly cardboard in front of the chest, and no longer need to wear a silly hat while singing in the middle of the room.

The last day of orientation is usually awaited by the seniors. Because today new children are asked to write love letters for seniors they like. Not just to the managers of OSIS, but to anyone they admire. Even if they don't know his name.

Since then I have been known by everyone. And started to be hated by Rio, the one who had been eyeing Mira for a long time. Who would have thought Mira was captivated by me and suddenly contacted me first. But I do not regret, it is cool because it can get many friends from the senior. They even started inviting me to join their respective clubs. I felt like I was a celebrity then.

“Kak, anu.. sorry.” A short-haired woman greeted me, both with her friend who also looked timid.

“Ya, what's up?”

“This, sorry. Thank you, Brother!”

The two of them gave me a letter and immediately ran away as if they had just stolen something. Of course, giving love letters is not an easy job, especially for women.

“Yes, get a letter, lo? Mantep bye!” a friend from a distance. I just raised both eyebrows

smilingly. A little bragging about the letter I just got.

I walked to class, intending to read the letter I got there. It makes me curious enough. But, my journey had to stop due to Bimo's arrival. He seemed to be in a hurry, as if something serious had just happened.

“Ya, look, Yes!” Bimo brandished the five letters that I was certain he had just received from a first-grade child.

“Wah... dapet much lo, Bim!”

“Kesel perjury I tuh!”

“Why else, anyway? I also have a love letter.”

“Iya, anyway. But you know what? This is all a letter to you! First grade kids went to class but there was no lonya. So he told me to come back to me. So happy to you!” obviously while throwing in annoyance some letters over my hand.

Suddenly I laughed at Bimo's explanation. There was no sense of pity at all to see the full face

his frustration. He must be disappointed because he had hoped to get a letter today. But once I get it, it's a letter to me. “Puas lo ngetawain me?” said ketus.

“Sorry, Bro. I also know how to get a letter. Udah do not be sad, today is still long, who knows about you dapet also.”

“Even Raka aja dapet one!”

“Haha yes... Nih, lo mending buy drink let cold tuh head.” I gave five thousand to Bimo

start walking while continuing to grumble. While I still can't stop laughing.

'Bugh.'

I hit someone when I just started walking. “Aduh, sorry.”

When I look, again it's not a stranger who's there. The man bowed back to apologize. I just took a breath and was certainly not angry. Because now I know why I can hit him. He was behind me without being able to say anything, so I couldn't realize he was there.

“You again yes, Aira.”

The girl I called her name was a little surprised before smiling sweetly. Maybe he didn't think I knew his name. This time it was not accidentally that we met. I saw him take something out of his pocket. A light blue paper. He thrust that thing at me.

“Make me?”

Aira nodded twice. Since I was not quick to take it, he immediately forced the letter so that it would be within my grasp. Then he walked away while walking fast. I haven't even had a chance to say thank you.

'For the senior brother I hit a lot.' It was written in front of a light blue paper that folded neatly. Makes me want to quickly open and read the contents first.
