A UNITY THAT CANNOT BE UNITED

A UNITY THAT CANNOT BE UNITED
JUSTJUST LISTEN....

The young man had just finished his dhikr when a santri appeared informing him that he was called by Ustadz Gau to face immediately.

Faisal nodded then got up and stepped following the santri leaving the mosque which was still filled with worshippers.

The sound of the slop she was wearing echoed a soft sound as she tracked the ground, dragged in a regular rhythm.

They arrived at the care home. The Santri looked at Faisal and hinted him to enter. Faisal sighed then stepped in after leaving his two slippers on the porch.

"Assalamualaikum.." said Faisal.

"Wa aleikum salam." replied Ustadz Gau who was sitting alone.

"Can anyone help?" ask Faisal.

"Sit down Faisal." pinta Ustadz Gau pointed at one of the sofas.

Faisal stepped up and sat down on the sofa. Ustadz Gau then took out a brown envelope and placed it on the table.

Faisal stared at the envelope and then looked at the nanny's face.

"What is this, Ustadz?" faisal asked, not understanding.

"Letter from your family." replied Ustadz Gau.

Faisal stared at the envelope a while later he leaned forward and grabbed the envelope and opened it. He pulled out a piece of paper there. His eyebrows immediately wrinkled as he read a line of sentences on the white paper. Just a line of words!

MEET ME AT THE LATITUDE OF THE OCEAN...

Faisal squinted for a moment and folded the letter back and put it back in the envelope.

"You were told to meet them at this address." said Ustadz Gau again handed Faisal a piece of paper.

The young man received the piece of paper and read the contents. The young man sighed and then exhaled.

"Teacher.." said Faisal to Ustadz Gau who sat quietly. "Do I have to see them?" asked the young man as he folded the paper and put it in the envelope.

"They are your family, Faisal." - Ustadz Gau. "You're obligated to devote your life to your parents."

Faisal sighed again and exhaled slowly then asked again. "When did Ustadz receive this letter?"

"Seven years ago." replied Ustadz Gau. "Sent by someone dressed in all-black safari style."

Faisal nodded. They seem to want me to leave.

"Alright Ustadz. I will leave tomorrow." Faisal said with determination.

Ustadz Gau smiled and nodded.

Isaac stood up, as usual, wearing a thin, long-sleeved shirt that rolled up slightly and his collar opened. His short hair swayed in the night breeze.

In front of him, stood also Faisal who turned his back, staring at the Tolite trees (Terminallia catappa) who seemed to be wiggling his branch because of the night wind.

"Why not tell him yourself?" draw Isaac flat.

Faisal smiled. "I don't think I'll be able to say a farewell sentence." she said.

Isaac stepped closer and the position of the two now side by side to pay attention to the catapult tree that was hit by the wind.

"What if I don't want to tell you?" Isaac's Fishing line.

"I don't blame you." Faisal replied. "However, I'll regret it for the rest of my life."

"Then tell him and prove that you're a real man" Isaac said.

"You know, if he lives in the princess's dorm." Faisal said. The young man now turned his body to Isaac. "Can you deliver it?"

"I don't know." Isaac again seemed to reject Faisal's request. "I just don't want to make him hurt 'cause you left without telling him."

Faisal was silent and looked back at the trees. Isaac took a deep breath and turned around, leaving Faisal, who was still looking at the trees.

"Remember Faisal." the voice of Isaac was sent through a directed ki deployment. "You stole his first kiss on the porch of his aunt's house in Taluduyunu. You have forced your heart upon you. As a man, I demand you to fulfill your promise to him. If you don't do it, I'll take your life, no matter how."

Faisal was still silent in the gentle wave of the night wind.

Putra Dormitory, Third room Pondok Pesantren Alkhairaat Buntulia, At 02.45.

Faisal dissolves in his Qoyamullail prayer ritual. I don't know why he was so solemn in every rakaat he did. Not even usually the tears that night dripped without being able to contain it. Eight rakaats of Lail Prayer have been performed. In the end he raised both hands and looked at the ceiling of the room as if visualizing the form of the Rabb there.

*O Owner of My Life.I ask only one of you. I am also grateful that You inserted this beautiful taste in my heart. But their call is now a burden on my mind because I will leave it alone here while I am there to take care of the fate of my people.

O Lord Who Dwells in Arsh.I ask You to give me a promise that You will reunite me with him. For I have already devised the rule and have made him force his heart upon me. So set me as adrift to him as he is to me. Take care of our love, O Allah. keep our loyalty as a form of loyalty to You.

O Dzat Maha Cinta. If Hatus chooses, I don't want to fall in love. But, no human being can avoid it, including me.

O Lord of the Exalted, I ask nothing but faithfulness only for love to be preserved between me and him. Feelings that are not polluted by anything. Please grant this request of my branch O Allah*...

Faisal rubbed his hands against his face and he cried without a sound. In the other bed, Isaac lay on his back. But the two eyes of the young man also bore a river of tears. He also did not speak. He is only dragged into a strong stream of empathy because they have a similar fate.

Oh Qomariah.may you remain peaceful there.I'm sorry I can not defend you from the cruelty of the Dutch people... I will love you from the deepest corner of my heart...

Isaac hid his face behind a cushion of hugging him tightly.

...****...

Ichi was silent when Isaac told him. The girl reacted to nothing. Isaac observed the look on the girl's face as he offered an apology from Faisal.

"You're okay, right? Ichi?" ask Isaac.

Ichi just took a deep breath and then exhaled. Before long the girl smiled flatly and replied, "She has made her choice. I have no right to prevent it. I respect his decision not to tell me. I understand it because he understands how I feel."

Ichi then looked at Isaac. "I told him to keep this feeling. As long as he does not transfer his heart to another woman, as long as I will keep my heart to you, no matter how hard, I will try to take care of him." The girl stepped towards the fence and touched the concrete.

"May he get what his family wants" Ichi said slowly.

Isaac just kept quiet and turned around and left Ichi there alone. After the young man died, then Ichi shed his sadness. The girl cried without a sound and fell quietly while holding the wall of the fence.

...******...

In a plane that carried himself flying away from Gorontalo, Faisal looked at the land through the window. The girl's name came back to her mind.

*Azkadiratna Ardhanareswari...

O soulmate

my name is always engraved in the navel

every step I always pray

may we be together...

O moorings of my heart...

give your love to my life

do you know how much I miss you?

live with me one day

Listen to me all night long I pray.

I always prostrate.

may we be together

I take care of our love

and I will be faithful*...

Faisal let out his breath dampening the heart-stinging pain. Love really does hurt. There is nothing more sincere than a heart that loves in pain and prays in silence.

Even the class cleric Ibn Qayyim al-Jauziyah stated, if the person in love can choose, he will definitely choose not to fall in love forever. for love will adorn life with tears and sacrifice, a proclamation adorned with requirements. Eventually only the pain will be felt because of abandonment.

Often the feeling of love is always accompanied by the feeling of hate. But that is the reality of true love.

*If you're laughing because of someone, then you like them...

But if you're crying for someone, then you love him*.

The plane continued to soar high carrying a heart that was torn apart. []
