I decided to spend my holidays at home. I don't want Mama and Papa to go to her friends' house. Definitely boring! Mending me at home and video call with Gigi. What makes me so envious is knowing that Gigi spent her vacation at her family villa at the top with her cousins. Uh! That must be really exciting. Much different than I am now. I have to crouch inside the house.
Papa has long since left his hometown. Since the age of ten, Papa had to move to Kalimantan following Grandpa who served as a police officer in the area. And since then, Papa rarely returned to Semarang.
Papa met Mama and fell in love while in Bandung. After graduating High School, Papa decided to study at ITB. Mama was the most beautiful student at the time according to Papa. But the beauty of Mama is also accompanied by the nature of Mama who judges, especially the same guys who have a crush on her. Papa is the lucky guy Mama chose. But, of course, Mama's abusiveness and stubbornness still persist until now. Without realizing it, Mama's nature was inversely proportional to my nature.
Because of Mama's nature, I'd love to have a sibling. And not being an only child. At the very least, Mama's stubbornness was not shown to me a. But, until now, at nearly seventeen years of age, I never had a sister. In the past, every time I whined for a sister, Mama would say my request has not been granted by God. I have long forgotten that request. And apparently, God did delay to grant that request.
"Lala, come here for a second!" I heard a lot of voices downstairs. Mama and Papa must have come home with the group again. Reluctantly, I walked out of the room, and did not forget to try to smile before meeting my parents' friends. And I'm used to doing that now.
With a smile on my lips, I looked at each of Papa and Mama's friends, but there was one other person among them. My gaze stopped at one figure who was hhmmm.
"Lala, it's big and pretty, yeah. Aunty to pangling, you know."
"Remember, La, same aunt Riani?" mama asked while smiling at me.
"It looks like if it's the same Junot, remember dong." Aunt Riani glanced at the guy who had made my heart shake.
"Hi.." The guy greeted me.
As it turns out, Aunt Riani was our neighbor ten years ago while in Jakarta. And Junot, who I remember was a shitty naughty guy back then. He often mocked me with one word that made me antagonize him until now. And because of that I want to go back to my womb and be born with straight hair.
Uggh..! sucks! It is wrong to have curly hair. My hair is not curly. Just curls. Not kinky. Fuck up! And today the man who often chokes me with that word, stands before me with his charming. My face immediately scowled. I took a few steps back as I was sure it was my curly hair that caught his attention now.
"You went to Pancasila High School, right?" Junot was trying to break the confusion between us. I can only nod. Duuh, my goooblook. What are you mute? My inner voice blames me for my 'coool' attitude'.
Maybe because I just act like an autistic person and can't be chatted with normally. Junot began to show his sense of boredom while at my side. He even fun to flip through Papa's automotive magazine and act indifferent to me. Bored of being silent, Junot finally chose to join the group of parents, and I looked resignedly while cursing my ignorance.
But when I was about to go home, Junot's words had comforted me a little.
"Tomorrow to see you at school, yeah."
Ahh.
