A Gift for Lala

A Gift for Lala
Seventeen - Fadly

"La, I hope you don't have to think too much about Junot and Yola. Just think of our plan, yeah." A'am glanced at me as we exited the classroom. We're going to the school hall for choir practice. I nodded in agreement. Yeah, I should be able to forget all this. Yola is indeed more worthy of Junot. They've known each other for a long time. And Junot was expecting Yola too.

Suddenly A'am ngacir left me at the door of the hall. He said kebelet peed.

"La?" I was stunned to hear that voice. Good Lord! What am I supposed to say.

"Hi?" short answer. I'm getting pounding. Is Yola here?

"Oh, yeah. Congratulations, yes," I smiled trying to look sincerely at Junot. The guy frowned. Hmmm... pretend **** again.

"Congratulations?" ask with an expression of not understanding.

"Congratulations on what you want you to get" I said. I saw Junot stunned for a moment.

"You mean, I'm the same Yola?"

I'm nodding. Hot eyes. The plisss! Don't cry here. I bit my lips to hold back my tears.

"Oh yeah, ng. You have to treat me. I'll help you get Yola. So you have to pay." I don't know what my face looks like right now. Is my smile perfect? Is my laugh perfect?

"Oh yeah. You promised me to walk, right? You have to be precise. Oh, I forgot. You can't, can you? Now you are the same Yola. Well,****so I am," I laughed again even though it felt so bland. Junot just silently looked at me, no expression.

"Thanks!" said Junot short and then left me. My tears are finally flowing. I still remember the Ganis party, the night I fell in love with Junot.

"You're beautiful, La." My heart was like jumping out.

I don't taste seeing my favorite meat rendang. I have no appetite today. I'll be right up to my room. As she opened the door, Mama approached me. In my mother's hand I saw a beautiful white dress. I'm stunned.

"That's great, Mam." I stroked the dress. Very mellow.

"Make Lala."

"Make Lala?"

A party? Huh! Uninspiring. It's an old people's party, why should I come too.

"Ngapain Lala's coming, Mam?"

"La, who's having this party is Papa's partner. We're new here so we have to come together so we can be acquainted with all his family."

"Yes." I replied ogah-ogahan.

I stared at myself in front of the mirror. You're so beautiful, Lala. I cried out to my reflection in the mirror. It turns out that beauty emanates from within, yes. When we want to be beautiful, we must continue to think positively and confidently. And I've started implementing that. Look, now I realize I'm pretty. Mama and Papa keep praising me tonight.

Papa's car entered a very large yard and there were already several cars parked neatly.  I followed Papa and Mama. At the door I saw a man of Papa's age smiling broadly at us. And beside him stood a graceful woman who was also smiling towards us.

We also arrived at the event venue. Precisely on the edge of the pool decorated as beautifully as possible with dozens of candles and balloons floating above the pool. So romantic. And by the pool there is a jazzy band playing the way you look at me jazz.

I saw Papa and Mama chatting with the host couple. And I just stare at myself.

"Lala, here..." Mama called. Then I saw the graceful woman smiling at me.

"Lala, Aunt Vivi said her son went to school with you."

"Yes, my aunt also went to school in Pancasila. But it's third grade now." The woman named Aunt Vivi was wildly looking for someone.

"So it was here his son. I don't know where it is now" said aunt Vivi with a smile. "Ohh. that's it... The fa... Fadyy..."

Degs... What was his name? Fadly's? I followed aunt Vivi's view. Hhhhh... The surprise! Turns out Fadly's aunt Vivi's son. And now I have to meet that arrogant guy here. Ouch.. die me.  I tried to hide my face. But that guy was in front of me.
