1001 Horror Story
The Sindur Mountain Guard

This story is told by my father, who was told from my grandfather, in 1948 who at that time was still living in his homeland in the area of Mount Sindur.

According to the stories and testimonies of local elders, the entire area of Mount Sindur is guarded by Opat Maung. Namely, the name for the four guardian tiger stealth of Mount Sindur. And there is also a taboo, that we should not walk four at the time of Maghrib through the forest. That said, the Maungs will think we are their opponents.

When my grandfather and three friends were going to pray maghrib to surau, suddenly in front of the road they saw the Dutch Company who began to kidnap the youth of Kampung, Kampung, which he said would be made KNIL. Then Grandpa and his three friends ran straight into the forest, and they ended up cornered in a big tree. Again the Company managed to find the grandfather and three friends.

The company immediately pulled the grandfather and his friends, but one of the friends of the grandfather fought back, and the company then fired a rifle at the feet of the friend of the grandfather to get injured. Then, my grandfather and two other friends did a similar fight. The company was finally angry.

As the bedil began to be fired towards them, suddenly from the top of the tree appeared a striped tiger pounced on the companies and managed to kill one of them. The other companies eventually ran away, but were still chased by the tiger.

Then from the top of the tree appeared again the white tiger, his grandfather and three friends were very afraid at that time. But slowly the tiger approached the wounded grandfather's friend and finally poked the bullet lodged in the leg of the old man's friend with his fingernails. But strangely my grandfather's friend did not feel any pain. After which, the white tiger slowly retreated and instantly disappeared behind the trees.

By the time they came home from the surau and almost at home, they saw the companies that were chasing them earlier, being attacked by two tigers, they were attacked, one black tiger and one leopard. The company finally ran away, but the two tigers still chased him.

A few months later my grandfather's brother was circumcised, and held a feast of pilgrimage. While being held a sisingaan party, suddenly his sister's grandfather cried while pointing out the wall of the house room. Sure enough, when my grandfather came out there already bearing four tigers, which was seen by his grandfather and friends when in the pursuit of the Netherlands. Grandpa I was shocked and immediately called his father (buyut gw). Just back out again, four tigers were uda kaga there, but the wall room of the house looks reot, the former four tigers were leaning.

Finally my great-grandfather told me that the four tigers were the Opat Maung Guardians of Mount Sindur. They are Ki Loreng, Ki Bodas, Ki Beetle, and Ki Tutul. Buyut Gw said, Gw's grandfather and his sister were Ki Loreng's great-grandchildren, so they came not to disturb, but to attend and look at his circumcised great-granddaughter. And Buyut said, the friend of the grandfather who was shot by the Company at that time also there are still descendants of Ki Bodas.
