"A-a-I, I don't know, I don't know" Sherin replied nervously.
Ralvin laughed a little. His hand held Sherin's. "If you say you don't know, it's in your heart."
Sherin. What Ralvin said is true. He also did not know, since when he fell in love with the CEO who had disguised himself as a bajaj driver.
Sherin frowned when she saw Ralvin's face change. It seemed that the man was carrying a heavy burden on his shoulders.
"But before the taste really grows, please, forget me."
Sherin's heart was racing. He did not want to hear hurtful words from the man's mouth. He has not even told the truth that he loves this man in front of him.
"What do you mean?" ask Sherin.
"I'll marry Jessika."
Sherin's heart crumbled, how could everything happen so quickly. Didn't Ralvin ignore Jessika? Then why would he suddenly marry that girl.
Sherin smiled bitterly. Indeed, he should not expect more from the handsome man named Ralvin. He should not have put his heart. Ralvin has a clear family, as well as Jessika. As for him, he is only the adopted son of a murderer, and his parents, who and where.
"Congratulations." Only that word could be said from Sherin's mouth.
Ralvin pulls Sherin into his warm embrace. Tears just flow. He can't abandon his love, but whatever his power, he must keep his promise.
"I'm sorry, Rin. I'm really-I'm sorry. I love you."
In Ralvin's arms, Sherin shed tears. The first time he knew love, he had to accept the harsh reality.
"You don't have to apologize, and there's nothing to forgive. You're not wrong."
Sherin did not refuse that hug. He knew, after this, he would never be able to feel that warm embrace. Ralvin's warm embrace will soon be Jessika's.
After a long hug, Sherin finally broke away. It was enough for him to feel the warmth of the embrace.
"When's the wedding?" ask Sherin.
Ralvin did not answer. He doesn't want to hurt Sherin anymore. "I'll connect Jura. So that he can go home to Jakarta more mop." Ralvin shifted the subject.
"When did you marry?" ask Sherin again.
Ralvin clucked slowly. "Not to be discussed."
"I need an answer. When was your marriage with Jessika?"
"Sherin, please! I don't want to answer. I don't want you to get sick!" Ralvin spoke in a high tone. "Because I love you, I don't care about my marriage to Jessika." This time Ralvin lowered his tone.
"I'm not hurt. I just need time to let go."
After saying that, Sherin walked out of the living room. He ran up the stairs. Perhaps teardrops had trickled down every rung of that ladder.
"Sorry." Ralvin bowed limply. He really can't do anything.
* * * *
Ralvin slammed himself into the bed. His right hand holds the phone in his ear. From across the street, her mother was talking about marriage. Ralvin looks very frustrated. He listened without speaking. He only spoke if his mother asked.
"Terelah Mamah aja .. yes ... Okay, take care of your health, Mah." Ralvin hung up the phone.
If only he had not been crazy about Jessika, and if he had not just made a promise, it probably would not have been this way. Maybe now he can convey his love to Sherin.
Remembering Sherin, Ralvin immediately got out of bed. He thought about the girl's feelings now.
"Is Sherin daydreaming again? Or cry?" Ralvin immediately stood up and walked out of the room.
Ralvin walked towards Sherin's room. When he got there, he knocked on the door.
"Rin, you're in the dalem, right?" Ralvin knocked on the door again.
Since there was no answer, Ralvin tried to open the door. Turns out the door wasn't locked.
Once inside, he sees Sherin's room empty. His eyes swept through the room, but the girl he was looking for was nowhere to be seen. He intended to look for Sherin outside, but his eyes saw the figure of the girl standing on the balcony of the room. Ralvin was sure that the man was Sherin.
Ralvin walked to the balcony. His eyes continued to focus on the girl who was still daydreaming staring at the stars that were strewn over the night sky. Now Ralvin has been standing next to Sherin.
"What do you think?" ralvin asked breaking the silence.
Sherin glanced back, then looked up at the sky. "Nothing" he answered briefly.
Ralvin took a breath. He knows how Sherin feels. The girl must have felt she was given false hope. How not, Ralvin always gives attention and also a gentle attitude. But, in the end, he had to accept the harsh reality that the man had to marry another woman.
"Sorry." Ralvin looked at Sherin.
Sherin smiled a little. "I told you, you don't have to apologize."
"It should. I gave you hope and-"
"And I shouldn't have hoped" Sherin said. Until this moment, he still did not look towards Ralvin.
"I shouldn't have expected more of you. I should have known myself, with you helping me out, that was enough, I should have thanked you. I shouldn't have expected more than that" he continued.
Ralvin. "I shouldn't have gotten you in the first place."
Sherin smiled wryly. "If you don't do that, I won't know a good man, I won't know a love one. I am thankful that I fell in love with you, and you fell in love with me. That's more than enough, though the end of it all feels bitter."
Ralvin grabs Sherin's shoulder, then pulls the girl into his arms. "Sorry, I'm sorry." Ralvin's tears came back.
Tonight will probably be a night of love, as well as their farewell greetings.
Sherin realises her grief at Ralvin's embrace. The only man she ever loved. The man who took her out of the slump while still at the home of her adoptive parents, the man who was both upset and happy at the same time.
"Thank you for everything. I hope you're happy with Jessika." Sherin withdraws from Ralvin.
Ralvin couldn't speak. He could only look at Sherin's sad eyes. Eyes that he will surely miss later in life. Sherin wiped away the tears, then forced a small smile.
"So Brother Jura called me. He said he would go straight to Jakarta tomorrow. So, tomorrow I'll pack my things "
"Why rush?" ask Ralvin.
Sherin took a deep breath, then slowly threw it away. "It's the best. I don't want you to get in trouble because of me" Sherin replied.
Ralvin nodded. He didn't want to keep Sherin by his side. He knew it would only add to the wound in the girl's heart.
"Ok, I'll help you tomorrow." Ralvin forced a small smile.
