Chapter 2

Endah Ibu Pram met face to face with his son-in-law Najma, he will convey what he had talked to Pram last night.

"I want Pram to get married again. I hope you agree and don't get in the way of Pram's marriage." Like a lightning bolt, that sentence shocked Najma.

"Would you like to get married again?" Najma asked her husband, who had kept his head down.

"Yes I want a descendant. Ten years we've been married there's no sign that you're gonna get pregnant." Najma felt that there was a pain that cut her heart. Pram seemed to say he could not have offspring.

"You want to beat me up?" Najma spoke almost in a whisper, unable to see a man so loved would share his heart with another woman.

"Why indeed? A husband is allowed to have more than one wife. Moreover, his wife can not give offspring, for example like you!" Endah spoke haughtily, staring at the cynical Najma.

It is not perfect, he said, if a wife is unable to give children to her husband. That sentence is what has been the doctrine of Endah to Pram. So that the boy would obey the request to stay away from Najma.

“I can still accept all this time you've always been indifferent to me. But when you want to get married again I can't! It hurts too much when I'm faced with the fact that you're sharing your heart with another woman.” Najma looked very hysterical, tears streaming down her beautiful face.

“Trust me even if I remarry. I'll just love you. If I have succeeded in having offspring from the woman I will promise to divorce her.” Najma shook her head in a sign that she did not believe Pram's words. The man was so obedient and always obeyed what his mother said.

“I still want a farewell,” break up Najma, besides the problem between them is not him. He got up ready to leave Pram, but the man swiftly hugged him tightly.

“I beg you not to leave me. I love you Najma, please stay by my side. I will die if you ask to part,” Pram said, the man's eyes flushed with tears.

All this time he was indifferent to his wife, but his love for the woman was not reduced at all from the first time they met. Pram's feelings were still the same, he was so fond of Najma.

Najma guessed that the woman who would become her honey was only a dozen years old. Najma pondered how such a young woman was willing to be made a second wife, whether it was because of the many treasures Pram had.

Jihan pointed at Endah's face with indignation she threw the examination certificate of Najma and Pram several years ago without caring now they became a spectacle of invited guests. Pram immediately took the paper and read it. His world collapsed knowing that fact, so all this time he was the one with the problem.

"Najma let's go home. Don't you keep a guy like that." Bagas, Najma's father took his daughter to leave immediately, he was heartbroken and disappointed after hearing the story from Jihan about Najma all along.

How could Najma have harbored it herself without sharing her grievances with the parents who had raised her. Najma always says that her marriage is fine.

"Najma wait!" Pram chased after his wife, he managed to grab the woman's hand.

"Is this really all? why didn't you tell me the truth?" Pram said softly, looking at Najma's face which showed tiredness and sadness.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you that." Najma is immediately pulled rough by his father leaving Pram without waiting for Najma to give a further explanation, he is so disappointed with his daughter-in-law.

"Pram is not to be pursued. Better continue your marriage that was delayed," said Ibu Pram.

"There's no point in this marriage continuing ma'am. I am barren," said Pram desperately, for the first time Pram ignored his mother he passed away leaving his mother just like that to catch up with Najma.

He no longer cares about his good name that might be destroyed with the cancellation of this marriage, he wants to apologize for all his mistakes so far has been with the heart to scold and ignore his wife.
