We Are the Monsters!

We Are the Monsters!
Vol 1's. Chapter 5's

The Desiring Boy! A Little Village At the Foot of Hell Mountain!

Walking down the mountains is quite dangerous compared to when you were riding it, I think. You could slip and fall like a marble bouncing around and over here.

All of that is dangerous enough, but what if you also go down the mountains filled with monsters?

It was an impossible thing to do for any human being, and luckily I was born in this world not as a human but as a monster.

'Will I be called a monster? Or a monster?'

At least that's what I was thinking right now when I was being confronted by thousands of goblins.

Although I have killed many monsters higher than goblins before, they have never attacked me together like these goblins.

If I have met many goblins like this it means that I am close to the foot of the mountains, it seems that human civilization is getting closer to me.

But among thousands of goblins there are some goblins that are larger in size, I think the height may be up to three meters.

Then one of the big goblins came up to me, and somehow I felt deja vu. I feel like I've experienced this situation, you could say I'm like a schoolboy in the middle.

"Hello son of man, do you want to go home?"

One of the big goblins that came up to me started talking with a grin on his face.

'...Ah, Rational Monster again.'

To be honest, I was tired of dealing with the Rational Monsters during the descent of these Mountains. I mean, they're all still stupid despite being endowed with the ability to think.

'Did they not feel my magic aura?'

It seems like this is because the ring that Aoryu gave me before has been set to the smallest point, maybe it also makes the magic aura I have so shrink.

But what can I do, I'll serve these goblins while I'm still in these mountains.

'I'll show you who the strongest monster in this mountain range is besides Aoryu!'

And I began to play like a boy who was afraid of them.

"Ehem ...T-please don't hurt me! I just want to go home, I'm just lost here!"

"So so! Hehe! We can show you the way!"

"Is that so? Then do you want to meet my family too?"

"So you have a family, huh?! Of course we also want to meet your family!"

Hearing my answer earlier made this big goblin very excited, coupled with his saliva coming out incoherent.

'Ewh.'

"But I forgot, my mother said I can't bring goblins home."

"W-What?! Why that?!"

"That's because..."

The whole goblin was waiting for what would come out of my mouth next, and when I said it, the goblins were shocked, and the big goblin in front of me became very angry.

"Mankind's boy..."

"Hm?"

"I WILL BRING YOUR HEAD TO YOUR HOUSE AND AFTER THAT DESTROY YOUR FAMILY!"

BLARS!!!

He also clenched his enormous fists towards my head, perhaps if I were a normal human my body would also be crushed like a tomato struck by a basketball.

A strong enough wind blow was created when I managed to hold his fist with my right hand. It made the dust on the ground fly and the small goblins covered his face.

When the dust disappeared from their sight, I grinned at this huge goblin before me.

"I told you I can't bring a weak monster home, right?"

It seems like the attacks and grins on my face are already intimidating enough that they look back a few steps, it makes them look very jostling.

Likewise with the big goblin who was in front of me as if he did not believe what had happened.

True, the monster instincts are very sharp. That instinct can inform you when your opponent is much stronger, or potentially make you die.

Unfortunately, sometimes those instincts come too late so it puts you really on the verge of death.

"M-human! How dare you bluff!"

"Grittle? That's not bluffing his name. I'll tell you what it's like to bluff."

I took off the ring given by Aoryu and at that moment I gave out all the magic aura I had.

A fierce shock of fear was seen from their expressions. All the small goblins were seen fainting instantly, and some of the Rational Goblins were bent to their knees limp along with the large goblins that were in front of me.

"You-you. turned out..monster..."

"Haha! Aren't we the same?"

"Percuts.. Monsters, huh..."

I smiled to answer the statement before the Rational Goblins fainted and overcame the little goblins below.

I also returned to using the ring I had previously removed and returned to walk down this mountain.

On second thought,

'Wow! It seems like I've become the most evil monster now! Cool!'

I feel so proud like a kid who just acted and acted like a hero in the comics.

But...

'No-no! That's so embarrassing!'

Sometimes I feel very embarrassed when I've been acting strange like that, however I am an aged man.

I walked on a simple path where the dry land that formed its own path split the grassland at the foot of the mountain.

Briefly at this time I had actually descended from the Hell Mountain Range, before arriving on this road I had to pass through Huta as well as the swamp that was at the foot of the mountain.

If you look back, the mountain that became my previous residence turned out to be bigger than my shadow.

You could even say this mountain range is like a very large long wall.

'Have I really explored these mountains?'

When I turned my face back and looked around, I began to see a small village in front of me.

For some reason I was pounding so much, I immediately ran towards the village. Shortly after I started running I could also see small children playing in the meadow.

My running self made the children stop their activities, and as I got closer they ran towards the village.

'Do they want a quick fight with me?'

I-I pursued them, I intended to approach them for a bit of bragging.

As I was about to get closer, one of them fell down, and strangely none of his friends stopped to help him.

Of course it made me move to see how things were, how could they have fun together but leave one of his friends behind when he fell?

I started walking towards the boy, and at that moment I realized that this boy was holding back his pain.

It seemed like the boy was a boy when judging from his appearance, he did not cry at all. Right, in any world the boy should be strong.

'Did he sprain? The fall was pretty bad anyway.'

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah! The monster!! Please let me go! I beg!"

'Eh?! Does he know that I am a monster?!'

"W-what are you talking about?"

'It can't be!'

It seems he thought that I was a monster, even though it was not wrong.

"Eh? B-not a monster anyway..."

"Of course not, can you stand up?"

"N-no, it looks like my leg is sprained."

"Then let me help you get home."

"Yes, please."

The boy stretched out his hand as well as my hand which greeted him.

'Wait, why do I now feel like the goblin I previously met?'

"I'm sorry, I thought you were a monster before."

"So that's why you guys ran?"

"Haha, more or less so. This fur cloak of yours makes you look very dangerous from a distance."

"Haha! I see, I thought you guys wanted a race run."

"Oh! By the way it turns out your run is fast too."

"Of course!"

"Then what's your name? And who are you?"

"My name is Suji, and I'm an adventurer."

"You are an adventurer?! It's great! Though it looks like we're the same age, so that's why you're walking from the direction of Hell's Mountain."

"Yes, that's it. It's nothing anyway."

"But this is the first time I've seen an adventurer go to Hell Mountain, even my mother said only heroes have ever been there."

"e-uh.. Didn't you hear wrong?"

'Hero said?'

"That's right! But you are also great for an adventurer who is still very small!"

"Y-yes, I just went to the foot of the mountain. Rather, why don't your friends stop at nothing to help you?"

"Maybe they are scared and also panic. But thank goodness you're not a monster."

We talked until we finally got to the front of the village. There are already many rural residents who carry weapons, some of them are spears, arrows and swords.

'Wait, they also brought farming tools?'

By the way this village seems to be surrounded by a wall made of rocks arranged sober, its height may only be the size of an adult.

"Stop there and don't come any closer!"

One of the men from the countryside yelled at me before my feet stepped even closer, and there was another woman who was screaming anxiously towards the boy who was currently with me.

"Edward! Run here, boy! Monsters! Quickly let go of my son!"

'So his name is Edward? And again why does he know I'm a monster?'

Hearing the woman speak I whispered while asking Edward, the boy himself looked very confused by what was going on.

"Hey, is she your mother?"

"Y-yeah, but why is everyone doing this?"

I also had an idea to make my first debut in meeting humans, although I was a bit worried about what was going to happen in the future.

"Then go to your mother, she seems very anxious about your situation."

"Eh? But what about you? Oh- I'll explain to them that you're not a monster!"

Edward ran towards the villagers and before he explained anything further, I took my breath and began to open a voice that made the atmosphere in the countryside even more uncontrollable.

"Include me my name is Suji, I am the perfect monster. I mean perfect dragon!"

The atmosphere became silent for a while before they finally became panicked and even frightened, although still in silence I could tell because their bodies started to tremble violently.

The silence completely stopped when Edward, shocked as if in disbelief, began to ask loudly.

"J-if you really are a monster then why are you helping me?"

"Of course so I can get into the village more easily, but it would seem very boring if I pretended to be human right?"

"...So you lied to me?"

"In short, the first lesson for you is to never trust anyone."

Hearing my answer, Edward came back to me. With her trembling body, she began to talk to me even though she was very frightened.

"Then I won't let you in so easily!"

"Edward! What are you doing?!"

Her mother, who saw her son facing a monster, began to panic and cry, while trying to get other residents to save her son. Unfortunately, the citizens who held the weapons were still trembling as if they could do nothing.

"Are you sure Edward?"

"Y-Yeah!"

'Well, he's pretty brave. He could be a hero when he grows up.'

But amid the tension that occurred a grandmother emerged from behind the residents who crowded, the grandmother made all the tension that occurred lost somewhere.

The grandmother who seemed to be very old slowly began to speak in her voice quite slowly, but it could be heard because of the silence.

"What do you want Suji?"

Hearing that I smiled.

"Shortly grandma, I just want to stop by this village and also food. Oho! And don't forget, I want this village to be mine."

The sky that was slowly starting to become orannye became extremely hot as I said what I wanted.

"So then, take it and stop by."

Hearing the words spoken by the grandmother made the citizens who had been panicking start talking again, this time they expressed their disagreement with the grandmother.

"What do you think of the village chief?!"

"Village chief, are you sure?!"

'So he's the village chief?'

But casually the old grandmother turned her back and she slowly left while talking.

"There's nothing we can do, you'll definitely die fighting it."

'Uwah, the grandmother was very sharp.'

"Follow with me son Suji, you can stay in my house."

Hearing that I followed the grandmother immediately, not forgetting that they saw me as if they did not believe what had just happened.

I can also hear those who are panicking and say the no-no.

"Will the village chief make us monster food?!"

"Jeez I'll leave while there's still time!"

'uh? Eating them?'

Hearing them speak like that the old granny spoke again, yet this time was quite loud.

"Basic stupid! Perfect monsters don't seem to eat humans!"

'That's right grandma! You got 100!'

After that, I managed to enter the village and followed the village chief to his house.

I-I don't know what's going on with the people, but I feel like this grandma knows a lot about monsters.
