Chapter 5

The time still shows at 7 am when Kineta is in the taxi he was riding. Last night after crying he had a bad dream and could not go back to sleep. Finally he just spent his sleep to be pensive waiting for the sun to come out.

Today was the first day he entered work, so avoiding his father and stepmother was easy for the reason of his early departure and refusing to have breakfast together. He knew his father was disappointed, but he still needed time to convince himself. He still cannot imagine himself to be a real family with Rahayu and Argion.

Finally, after almost an hour of blocked travel and a considerable distance from the office area, Kineta arrived at his destination . It feels like he will stop mocking his aunt-Riana who often complains of traffic jams in Jakarta.

Ocean Architects

The logo of the company where Kineta is headed is displayed so artsy. Not a large building towering, just like a small four-storey box-shaped building unit that widens luxury.

His aunt who used to hold one of the office building projects in the American architectural bureau recommended this company when Kineta told him that he would return to Indonesia.

And after looking through the portfolio of this company. Kineta thinks that if the company's projects are good enough, most are revitalizing the office, house stay, or public space are humble.

Kineta went inside the automatic glass door and approached a reception desk on the right side of the entrance, inside was quite spacious and the interior was made very cozy.

Impressed a little minimalist and modern with green and blue ornaments, some plants are also arranged fitting and sweet in every corner of lighting so it does not feel empty for a company lobby.

"Good morning. Can I help you?" A female receptionist with a lacy white blouse and a neat hair roll greeted Kineta.

"I'm a new employee" Kineta introduced his position.

"With Kineta's mother Mahardhika Rajendra?"welcome him back in kind.

"Yes"

"you've been waiting for Melisa ma'am in her room, please take the elevator to the left and her room is right in front of the elevator to the 3rd floor" Kineta nodded in understanding.

"Thank you" Kineta said before stepping up to follow the instructions.

“Ki oh my god, so miss you”the familiar greeting of Melisa who immediately embraced Kineta, a close friend of her college back in England even though both chose different majors. Kineta architect and Melisa business management. But because they come from the same country, the two become familiar and connect quickly when chatting together.

“I thought you wouldn't be in today”

“no way, someone has forced me to sign a contract to work here and I don't have enough money to cancel it”

“oh really? so you have to be here?”

“ah it's Mel, I don't have the energy to bring you”

“you haven't had breakfast, have you?” Kineta nodded acknowledging his hunger.

“ayo sat down, I happened to bring a lot of breakfast today so we can eat it together like in college past”

“this time completely freekan”

“certain, but you have to give me an expensive wedding gift in 2 more months”

Kineta rolled her eyeballs in response to Melisa's remark. “have I guessed you'd be like this”

“oh yes I almost forgot, 30 minutes more sir william asked me to take you to the meeting room. You will be officially introduced there, from what I heard, Mr. William just got a hotel project from an important client” Melisa works as the principal secretary of the founder of Ocean Arcitect.

“And it looks like it will be your first project here”

After 30 minutes passed by taking Kineta to a meeting room that had been filled with several employees who were preparing to start a meeting about the latest project they had to work on.

Kineta's heart met when one of the employees sitting behind the meeting table was someone he really wanted to meet, especially with the facts he had only known last night. His two eyes met a pair of cold eyes and Kineta would not be daunted for this time.

“before we start, as I already reported if our bureau will be the arrival of a new architect who replaces Joy. Miss Kineta, let’s introduce your self” William invited Kineta to introduce herself.

“good morning, introduce me Kineta Mahardinka new architect here, previously I have worked in one of the architectural bureaus in England and hopefully we can cooperate” some employees give a warm applause for him. Kineta again sat down in the chair opposite Argion who was trying to be indifferent to his presence.

“biro we got an offer of 2 projects and I hope the results will be satisfactory, because this project I got not easily. The first project is the Clizt Singapore hotel which will open a branch in Bali and they agreed to use our bureau in its design and I leave this to you Argion and for the second project is home designing a couple Raharjo who will settle down and build a house in Bali as well, for this second project I want Rheana and Kineta to compete to make a design that client” will choose

“competing? me and this new guy? Will this not fair” Rheana stared disapprovingly at the wishes of Wiliam. Because Wiliam should just give the project to him instead of asking him to compete with a new child who snot.

“I don't like this medusa”whispers Melisa sitting next to Kineta.

“why you think like that Rhe?”ask William seriously.

“it is not an exaggeration to make him the main architect of the field in our bureau, we do not even know what his experience is like. And I feel insulted to compete with him”

“I asked him to compete with you because I know the background of his experience, I will not arbitrarily choose someone to replace Joy. Rhe try to be professional, if you feel your design ability exceeds it you should not feel anxious”

“I don't feel anxious, I will prove if this new kid is the mistake you chose”

Kineta knew Rheana already hated him when he introduced himself in the meeting room earlier, the sharp gaze of the girl seemed to radiate dislike towards him.

“I told you not to pick it” Argion looked at William with a hardened face. William and himself were the principle partners who built the Ocean Architecture bureau from zero to a massive development like this.

“Ar our bureau will grow with the presence of Kineta, we both know how talented the girl is in the world of architects. The girl once got an award in our international design competition even became the judge at that time”

“I'm not talking about Will's ability, I told you that the girl can't enter this company”the Argion stares at William vigilantly.

“unfortunately this company is not only yours and if this is only because of your personal problems with the girl, I think your attitude to Ar” children

“shut up Will”gertak Argion pissed.

“Come on Ar, this is not like the workaholic and professional Argion. I thought you would never be affected by any woman, is Kineta an exception?”

“not one, not even with the girl”the change of Argion's face that became cold made William fixated and curious.

“I will make that girl who left from this company”ucap Argion pass leaving William who just exhaled tiredly.

"or maybe you'll get caught up with it" William muttered at the door that Argion had tightly closed.

"bad day?"tanya Elma came with Kineta's order.

Kineta shook her head slowly to answer Elma's question. He seemed to have no more energy to talk after the meeting with the client earlier Rheana was complacent when the husband of the client seemed to dislike Kineta who had asked about whether the couple wanted to have a house friendly with kids.

After his work that went wrong, because according to Kineta he was attacked by the enemy without reason, Rheana's hatred as baseless for him.

So at lunchtime, Kineta came straight to the Coffee House Cafe. He was sure that only this place could nourish his heart that felt hot. And luckily this place isn't too far from work.

“i often hear the girls who work in the office say ‘i hate monday’ and will be excited again the next day”Elma keeps trying to give Kineta some spirit.

"Don't think too much I'm sure you'll handle it well. There is a chance in one mistake. You always said that a long time ago" entertained Elma who managed to produce a smile from Kineta.

"it would be nice if I worked here" Kineta's suggestion surprised Elma.

"Eh? you're starting to hang on to Ta..."

"It would be nice to work here with you"

"Ta, with an Ivy League graduate like you, you should be working in tall buildings instead of in cafes like this" Elma would be great if Kineta wasted his time working here.

"Ivy leagues? Why do people always honor that title. Didn't I say all jobs are the same" Kineta was upset that graduates from the best campuses had to work in the best places as well.

"There must be a reason right, the confident Kineta yesterday couldn't possibly falter just because of the bad work today" Kineta turned his gaze over. He is reluctant to tell about his meetings with clients who seem to ignore him and respond more to questions from Rheana.

"El, may I ask about someone" Kineta takes her mind off her work for a moment from someone she wants to know about after her disappearance 10 years ago.

"Sure!"elma is sure.

"Argion.. You still remember that, right?" Elma nodded in response to her best friend's question.

Elma could not possibly forget the Ocean Argion who used to be good friends with her as well as Kineta. Elma's parents used to work for the Argion family, her father worked as Argion's father's personal driver while her mother worked as a housekeeper in Argion's house.

"Have you met him?" Kineta's silent. But Elma knew it was the answer to her question.

"Actually he quite often come to this cafe, because the owner of this cafe is his best friend. But I'm self-conscious not to be friends with her after..." Elma hung up her words and stared at Kineta unhappily.

"After the death of his father, Brother Gion warned me if he wanted to throw away his past. Including you and me"

"From there I realized that there would be no one to be friends with a poor girl like me" continued Elma who felt self-conscious about their different social status.

"It's not because of that..." Flat Kineta murmur. Kineta believes Argion is not a petty person in choosing friends. There must be another reason.

Cafe door bells are heard signaling new customers are arriving to order. Elma was already preparing to return to work but her body was a little surprised that the person she just talked about had just arrived.

Kineta looked at Argion who was walking hand in hand with the woman who was the reason for her bad mood in front of the client and another striking-looking man with sunglasses and a mask covering his face.

"Welcome to the coffee house cafe" Elma's welcome was only glimpsed at a glance by Argion and the woman who continued to wrestle in his hands.

Except for the man wearing sunglasses who lowered his glasses slightly to give a seductive glance to the embarrassed looking Elma.

Kineta could not turn his gaze to the haughty and cold-looking Argion. The man didn't even say a single word to her at the meeting this morning.
