Father's Desire

As usual Meilink welcomes her days with her spirit and sweet smile. Meilink is a girl who has a nature of obedience to parents and never give up in the face of challenges. Every day Meilink wakes up early to perform the morning prayers with his father and mother. Both of his parents always educated him based on religion. Although the Meilink family background is not from a family that is thick with religious teachings. But Meilink's parents still tried to educate Meilink based on religious teachings with limited religious knowledge that they knew. So that Meilink does not fall into the wrong path, which may be a regret later on for Meilink or them as Meilink's parents.

Both of Meilink's parents at the time of undergoing a household hick is very difficult to get offspring. Ten years after their marriage, Meilink's parents still had no children. Until finally, when Meilink's parents meet with his best friend back. Maybe this can be said to be just a joke of friends at first. But, the joke turned into a reality that provides happiness for these two friends. Meilink's father promised his best friend that if his wife was pregnant and he had offspring of either a boy or a girl. He will marry his son to his best friend's son. Never thought, a few weeks later the two friends met. Meilink's mother is pregnant. Of course her pregnancy was greeted with great happiness by the two friendly people.

Meilink's father's best friend had a very handsome son for a long time. The desire to have more children is not denied but what is the power. His wife was unable to get pregnant again because of uterine cancer which caused her uterus to be removed.

Because of his wife's desire to have a daughter, Meilink's father's best friend billed Meilink's father's promise to marry their child. Of course Meilink's father is a man who doesn't like to break promises. Meilink's father promised to marry her daughter after her daughter completed her high school education.

Today after performing the congregational prayer with his parents, Meilink's father wants to express his wishes. Both of Meilink's parents looked at Meilink affectionately. Meilink's father opened the conversation.

"Meilink, can you grant your father this wish, son?"

Meilink looked at her parents in turn in astonishment. Meilink's father was a man who did not talk much and who did not demand much of his son during this time. Maybe some other parents will demand a lot of brilliant achievements from their children to honor his name. But unlike Meilink's father, he will support all the positive things his son does and does not demand much from his son. Simply obey and obey parents and follow the teachings of religion. This morning his father asked meilink if he could grant his father's wish.

Smiling, Meilink asked her father.

"Father and I want Meilink to marry your father's best friend's son, son."

"But Mom and Dad knew Meilink was still in school. Meilink is still in high school."

"Dad knew Meilink was still in school but soon Meilink finished high school. If Meilink wants to continue her education Meilink can continue after marriage." Meilink's father expressed his opinion with real firmness.

Meilink was eager to resist her father's wishes as seen from his expression that was clearly plastered on her face. But before Meilink denied his father, his father cut him off.

"Meilink, have you ever asked for anything from you in the past?" Meilink automatically shook his head.

"Dad wanted Meilink to grant Dad his first wish and maybe this is the last time Dad asks you, son."

As a submissive child Meilink also granted his father's wishes even though his heart refused.

"Well Meilink's father will marry your best friend's son, if that's what you want."

Meilink wondered why her father said this was his last wish. If possible Meilink would grant all her parents' wishes but why would her parents say that. But his desire to ask was stopped because his father told him to help Meilink's mother prepare breakfast and get ready to go to school.

Meilink is from a simple family, not from a wealthy family. His father only worked as an employee while his mother was a teacher. Because of her simple family life so demands Meilink to be a girl who is not spoiled. Meilink can do homework very deftly because every day she does homework with her mother without any help from a housekeeper.

After making breakfast, the three of them enjoyed their breakfast with gratitude. Meilink is getting ready to go to school, as Meilink wishes to say goodbye to her parents, and Meilink is shocked by her father's words, which stab directly into her heart.

"Take care of your behavior both inside and outside the house, son. Because if you make a mistake then you're not the only one who will suffer the consequences, but your parents will also be affected by what you do."

Meilink was stunned to hear her father's words. Inwardly he wondered if his father knew what he had done outside the house without the supervision of his parents. To cover his nervousness Meilink immediately answered his father's words.

"Good Dad."
