Meimei handed over the meat of a mature wild bird, the fragrance making drooling but Mu Lian did not dare to eat the meat.
Mu Lian turned to Meng Zhi who was meditating then towards Meimei who was turning back the meat so as not to be burnt.
"..." - ".(Mu Lian)
"Hey! eat quickly!" ling Zizhou said.
"Oh," said Mu Lian.
"If it's less, take whatever part you like, Lian'er," Meimei said.
"Jiejie and Senior Meng don't eat?" ask Mu Lian.
"We don't need to eat anymore. After all the birds that Zizhou brought in were only two, not going to be enough for the four of us. Eat a lot, LIan'er," Meimei replied.
Hearing Meimei's words, Mu Lian immediately stared intently at Ling Zizhou.
"Cultivators with late stage foundation formation levels and above do not need to eat the food of mortal beings often," Ling Zizhou said defensively.
"So.jiejie's cultivation level," Mu Lian said, did not finish her sentence.
"Senior Meimei is at the core formation level while Senior Meng is at the soul formation level" Ling Zizhou said.
What an amazing couple! Mu Lian was stunned and recovered a moment later. His hand still holding the upper thigh of the wild bird, Mu Lian stared at Meng Zhi doubtfully.
Ling Zizhou finally noticed Mu Lian's gaze on Meng Zhi and coughed until her shoulders shook. Making Meimei's attention led to the young man and Mu Lian who continued to stare at the flesh of the wild bird then towards Meng Zhi.
Meimei coughed trying to hold back the laughter. Hearing the frenzy around him, Meng Zhi opened her eyes.
Ling Zizhou and Meimei tried to hold back the laughter whereas inadvertently Meng Zhi's eyes met Mu Lian after the girl stared at the wild bird's flesh in her hands.
"Don't hesitate, just eat the meat of the wild bird, Lian'er," said Meng Zhi.
"senior! I didn't mean to"
"Is where you're from the stork hunted?" ask Meng Zhi.
"No," Mu Lian replied as she closed her lips.
"That means the stork is not in the human food chain. After all in this world the strong will survive," Meng Zhi said indifferently as she continued,
"The bird is just a wild bird, different species from the stork,"
Ling Zizhou listened to Meng Zhi's explanation as he continued to chew on the flesh of the wild bird, even he had already spent half the bird alone.
"..." - ".(Mu Lian)
Without even mince words Mu Lian devoured the flesh which had made her a dilemma. In retaliation for making him worry, Mu Lian spent the entire flesh of the wild bird alone.
Mu Lian sat on her back and leaned against the tree trunk with a distended stomach. Feeling extremely full and helpless, Mu Lian stroked her stomach.
"How was your first spirit beast?" ask Meimei. Meimei sat beside Mu Lian, both of them staring at the bonfire.
"spread. What was the size of a spirit beast that big?" said Mu Lian.
"Yes, even spirit beasts of level 5 and above have larger body sizes," Meimei said. Mu Lian sighed.
"We better get some rest" Meimei said.
"En," said Mu Lian.
However, due to her stomach being too full, Mu Lian chatted with Meimei for the next hour. Mu Lian was curious about soul formation level cultivators.
Meimei explained that the soul formation rate was a level above the core formation. So the sequence is chi condensation, foundation formation, core formation (for humans to form jiendans, for animals to form niendans) new soul formation.
The more the cultivation level of a person would increase the further the person was from the world of mortal people. They do not need to eat and sleep.
Maybe a few times a week is enough to meet the needs of their lives. Mu Lian listened to Meimei's fairytale-like speech while staring at the bonfire.
Without feeling Mu Lian's eyes closed and her breathing grew longer and more regular. Seeing Mu Lian fall asleep, Meimei enveloped Mu Lian and moved from there.
The next day Mu Lian and the others continued on their way. Mu Lian was getting used to living in the wild so her body was getting stronger and Mu Lian did not feel excessive fatigue.
The problem was getting closer to the Sky Feet Mountain the more often spirit beasts appeared.
Meimei said that the path to the Sky Feet Mountain is indeed rare because this mountain is a unique place that is only inhabited by spirit beasts.
So the closer to the Sky Feet Mountain the more and more spirit beasts are encountered.
"Oh, look! there's the greedy one" Meimei said as he pointed towards the four-legged spirit beast. His body was large and muscular, his tongue sticking out like a dog.
"Level 1?" ling Zizhou said.
"Level 1. Lian'er, do you want to confront him?" said Meng Zhi.
"..." - ".(Mu Lian)
Not yet had Meng Zhi said anything, the spirit beast had already charged towards Mu Lian and the others. Mu Lian jumped to the left side.
The wind blew fiercely as the spirit beast passed through a split centimeter of Mu Lian's body. Mu Lian could still feel the hot air of breath gushing out from the spirit beast's nose.
"It's not greedy his name if he doesn't blindly lash out at the opponent," Ling Zizhou said mocking the spirit beast's stupidity.
Hearing Ling Zizhou's voice, the spirit beast chased after him. Meimei immediately returned to near Mu Lian while Meng Zhi stayed where he was while continuing to observe the spirit beast that was chasing Ling Zizhou.
"The attack pattern is monotonous, continuing to attack its prey blindly. Not using brains, how? You want to try it?" Meimei.
"Actually an Alchemy expert doesn't have attacks as strong as a weapon cultivator and an array master. But, your goal is to come here to train your skills. So I think this spirit beast is right for you," Meng Zhi said.
Mu Lian was surprised to find Meng Zhi was already near Mu Lian and Meimei, indeed high-level cultivators!
"Alright," said Mu Lian at last.
Mu Lian nodded then ran over to the spirit beast who was playing a chase with Ling Zizhou.
The young man's face showed a bored expression but did not launch the slightest attack, just keeping the spirit beast busy with himself.
Seeing Mu Lian running over to them, Ling Zizhou prepared to leave. When Mu Lian was right behind the spirit beast, Ling Zizhou circled the spirit beast so that the spirit beast faced Mu Lian.
Seeing different prey did not stop the beast spirit's indiscriminate attack. Mu Lian dodged attack after attack awkwardly, several times her body faltered as her legs did not stack firmly.
Ling Zizhou nagged Mu Lian over her carelessness. Seeing that Meimei and Meng Zhi did not interfere and let Ling Zizhou guard and guide Mu Lian against the spirit beast.
A few minutes later Ling Zizhou had to intervene as Mu Lian lost the momentum to launch an attack on the spirit beast.
Mu Lian's movements were not as agile as the first time facing a spirit beast, signaling Mu Lian's body was already too tired. In the two sabetages the jian spirit beast lay on the lifeless ground.
Ling Zizhou shook the jian to clear the remaining spirit beast blood then sheathed the jian back.
Seeing the blood spirit beast that Mu Lian instantly nauseated, recall the incident with the cult of the heretic stream.
"good job. You feeling nauseous?" Meimei. Mu Lian nodded.
"It's okay. This is still the first day you face the spirit beast head-on. Slow down" said Meng Zhi.
The tracking-type spirit beast that Mu Lian had first discovered did not count because Mu Lian was marked as causing her to be nowhere near that spirit beast.
Ling Zizhou did not say anything and only took out the spirit beast core.
Day seven, Mu Lian met two spirit beasts. One more type of tracker one more greedy. This time the one marked was Ling Zizhou so Meimei was handling the spirit beast type tracker while Mu Lian was trying again to deal with the greedy one.
The spirit beast that Meimei dealt resembled a vulture, although a tier 1 was not a creature that late stage chi condensing cultivators like Mu Lian could easily deal with.
Mu Lian did not have time to observe Meimei's fight with that one-sided spirit beast (of course the winner was Meimei) because Mu Lian was busy with the creatures that were attacking him ferociously.
Meng Zhi patiently guided Mu Lian and showed her the perfect time to launch an attack.
Mu Lian nimbly launched her rainy season breeze while dodging or fending off the incoming attacks.
Mu Lian's attack wasn't so strong that it only scratched the greedy man's skin, making him even more blind.
A few minutes later Mu Lian's movements slowed down so much that Meng Zhi killed the spirit beast with a single slash.
Only the first time in his life Mu Lian did physical activity to reach his limit and then rested repeatedly for the next three days.
Just ten days away from the Eastern Ufuk Valley, Mu Lian had already longed for the fragrance of the herbs. To cure his longing Mu Lian sniffed out the entire sac containing the concoct medicine she brought while resting.
For several days Mu Lian was astonished at not feeling the weight of the goods she carried in the dimensional bag.
If likened, Mu Lian carried half of the items in her room. Does not enter the deacal.the bag is still as light as a feather.
Mu Lian and the others arrived at the Sky Feet Mountain two days late from the plan as they met with more spirit beasts than they had originally expected.
Ling Zizhou said a few months ago when he and Master Yi came to this mountain, the number of spirit beasts they encountered while on a normal journey alone was not as much as it was now.
Ling Zizhou brought Mu Lian and the others to the safe resting place of the spirit beast as the sun began to set.
It was a cave on a remote hill not far from the foot of the mountain. Master Yi had always updated the protective array he had obtained from the Great Eagles sect so that no spirit beasts would enter the cave.
Mu Lian and the others rested and lit a bonfire. Just as Meng Zhi was about to light a fire with her matra, Mu Lian said that she wanted to try out the magic ring Xiaoxiao gave her. Mu Lian had not been strong enough to try the magic tool since she came out of the Eastern Ufuk Valley.
However because Mu Lian was curious about cultivators who were able to produce fire using spells, she allowed Meng Zhi to create a campfire. This was done by Mu Lian in honor of the more senior Meng Zhi.
Mu Lian wore that orange-eyed ring on the index finger of her right hand. Then he poured chi into the ring.the ring's eyes glowed brightly and spouted fire.
Mu Lian drained the chi several times to ascertain how the ring worked. When he drains chi in large quantities, the fire will get bigger whereas if his chi is a little, the fire will get smaller.
Mu Lian stared at the ring-shaped flame lighter on her finger. Right lighters! But Mu Lian ignored the bitter reality of the ring and observed the bonfire in front of her.
Mu Lian smiled proudly as she could light a fire ignoring Ling Zizhou who rolled her eyeballs and Meimei who shook his head with a smile.
That night Mu Lian and the others devised a plan to hunt the spirit beasts. Mu Lian was given a briefing on the type of spirit beast, hunting time and division of duties guarding Mu Lian.
Mu Lian is required to observe the condition of his own body, do not be too tired and do not be too early to ask for help.
They agreed not to climb too far to the top of Sky Feet Mountain, considering the number of spirit beasts was on the rise lately.
After all the closer to the peak the higher the level of spirit beast. The highest level spirit beast found in this mountain was a tier 3 equivalent to a core formation level cultivator.
What made them worried was the blood type spirit beast in its berserk state. If they were to meet a level 3 type tracker, then in the rampaging condition the spirit beast was only able to fight against Meng Zhi.
After weighing the risks, they set the hunting ground and duration of stay in this mountain. Then with a final two-word reminder, Mu Lian went to bed to greet the training period the next day.
"Lian'er are you sure you don't want to borrow my jian?" Meimei. This was the umpteenth time Meimei had asked Mu Lian the same question.
"No!Nah! jiejie I really can't hold a gun!" mu Lian said while shaking her head.
"Look! By combining body cultivation and weapons, the chances of one to defeat an opponent who had a cultivation level above it were greater. Like me! With my sword dao cultivation I can defeat early stage core formation cultivators," Ling Zizhou said proudly.
Hearing Ling Zizhou's words, Mu Lian simply looked at Meimei and Meng Zhi with a heartfelt look.
Mu Lian shuddered every time she saw Ling Zizhou cut off the spirit beast body with his jian. Especially trying with his own hands.
Meimei and Meng Zhi leaped at Mu Lian's pitying gaze and did not force her to hold a weapon.
"Hmm, I see Lian'er's rainy season wind exposure has great potential to subvert opponents, even though it can only subvert opponents equivalent to Lian'er's cultivation level," Meng Zhi said.
"Alchemy experts do not have strong attacks compared to weapon cultivators and array cultivators. After all Lian'er does want to train the skill he learned," Meimei said.
Mu Lian closed her lips. Mu Lian never said she would become an Alchemist. Well, it seems like these few months Mu Lian often took Mu Haocun classes which were often held on the south hill.
Mu Lian was interested in Alchemy moreover the field was still related to herbal plants. Mu Lian was happy to be involved in matters related to herbs.
