However, there is one aspect of being a prosecutor that Isabella does not anticipate, namely that politics often interfere with government work.

Sitting before Donald that day, talking about why the man had pulled out of the Ellard case, he realized that the Milan prosecutor's office was no exception. He could have guessed Donald's real problem: just dodging. The man did not want to dabble and likely lose in the trial that would be covered by every media. And in this day and age it will spread quickly. Then what happens after that, public opinion will also make this worse. That will affect Donald's reputation.

Isabella was shocked by her superior's decision. And feel depressed. Also disgusted at the thought of someone like Boy Ellard going unsupervised and free to do his business as usual.

But unfortunately he can't do anything unless he plans to give up his Milan assistant prosecutor's badge any time soon, his hands this time tied tightly.

Isabella only joined this office for a year openly defying her boss about such a big case for sure it was not a wise move.

If he wants to keep working as an officer who fights crime. He keeps his opinion in his heart. Like when we play chess. There are times when we go forward and attack. But not infrequently we also give a collision to achieve the goal. The world of law is like that too. Not every time we have to move forward. Sometimes backwards or survive and sacrifice something we also need to consider right.

"alright. No charges." Isabella agreed even though her heart refused. He felt his stomach break down, as he said those words out loud.

"I'm glad you understand" Donald said with a smile.

"I think it would be more fitting if Capt Sky heard this directly from you, Donald. Especially considering all the things he's been through in this investigation." Refuse the delicate Isabella. He didn't want to cause the fiancee in trouble with a stubborn capt like Sky.

"Sky would understand. Sometimes that's how things happen in this world. And Sky is not a new player." Donald.

Donald looked into both eyes. "And Isabella remembers! the only thing the police need to know is that there will be no charges filed against Ellard and his men. This office has a hard rule that we are not allowed to comment on the internal decision-making process."

As Isabella still said nothing, Donald tilted his head. "I need you as a team player for that matter, Isabella. Do you understand?" be firm at the end of his words.

“ya! I totally understand.” Answer Isabella .

Isabella took a deep and long breath. Of course he understands. Donald is planning to scapegoat him, letting him accept the consequences of the man's decision to step down from Ellard. But it's like this is a game played. Donald is his boss, needless to mention that the man is a very important person and is on good terms with the Milanese legal community. Which means, there was only one thing he could say. "Please say everything is in order.
