The Whispering Wind Sword
12. Chapter 12's

But not too long later, his brows furrowed and his face raised in alarm, recalling the incident when Wang Chen Jin whispered to Ding Tao and Ding Tao's face looked stiff. There must be something important whispered, Gu Tong Dang thought.

Some old teacher was dumbstruck, suddenly clenched his hands and with a nimble movement he jumped to his feet,

" Hmm... think about it here and there, if not asked directly to the person how can I know? I'd better go see Ding Tao right now to ask him, otherwise even until the sun rises, these old eyes won't be able to be closed either. "

" May Ding Tao be able to understand my worries, and not look at me too chatty."

While passing towards the room where Ding Tao lived, he also thought in his heart,

" Are I getting older, is it getting worse?"

Chuckled at his own amusement the old teacher imagined how he was after old to become a bad grandmother, without feeling reminded of him of his late wife.

Sighing he recalled the sweet memories of the past, it was a pity that the two of them did not go blessed offspring.

Recalling the past the old teacher arrived in front of Ding Tao's room, slowly knocking on the door of the room and calling him his favorite student.

After a long while he knocked and did not get an answer, the old teacher's heart became even more agitated.

Try to push the door inside and easily the door opens, because there is no one inside to put the doorstop.

Observing the state of the room, the old teacher tried to draw conclusions, too,

" Hmmm... What is this? It was past midnight, but Ding Tao was not here, even his bed was still neat, as if from this afternoon he had never been here for a moment. Did Ding Tao go to meet the young man? With his sword. Was that afternoon Wang Chen Jin challenging him to a fight?"

" If so, where is the place?"

Once the old teacher came to the conclusion, the old teacher did not want to waste time in vain. Soon he went towards the north gate of the city.

Gu Tong Dang had a lot of experience, to get out of the city gate secretly might be quite difficult, but Gu Tong Dang did not need to go out secretly, the gatekeeper met him, the gatekeeper, with a little money and his position as a teacher in the house of Lord Huang, he, without much difficulty the gatekeepers opened their way through a small door they used or someone else who needed to get in and out of the city at night.

Once outside the city gate, Gu Tong Dang tried to observe the circumstances around him.

Sayup-sayup, his sharp ears are still able to hear the sound of horse footprints driven by people.

With a hurry he went towards the sound and found traces of new ones. Some are heading from the north towards the city and newer from the direction of the city towards the north.

Gu Tong Dang could imagine how Wang Chen Jin spurred his horse from where he was staying on the way to Wuling, fought with Ding Tao and then spurred his horse to return silently.

" Hmmm..Wang Dou has a lot of interests with us, of course he does not want any disputes between us. But the young man was still short of his mind and he was also very strict. Hope Ding's son doesn't suffer any harm."

The old teacher hurriedly traced the horse footprints leading to the city, though with great difficulty, finally arrived at the place where Ding Tao and Wang Chen Jin met, until the old master was where they fought.

His heart was pounding at the blood around the place.

The traces of the fight finally brought the old teacher to the lip of the well and that was where the traces of their fight ended.

With a pounding heart he tried to look into the well, but the well was too dark, after all the day was not yet light. The torch light he carried did not reach the bottom of the well.

Sadness filled the old man's heart, with sadness he tried to call, even though his hopes were already so thin.

" Ding Tao... Ding's son.... Are you there?"
