The Tower Of Destiny

The Tower Of Destiny
GROUND FLOOR - HUNTING

A sound of noise was heard above the head. A perfectly blue cube-shaped object floats. Each climber gets one. Some can be sword weapons, spears, arrows, shields, even a needle.

Kei received one. The monitor screen turns on automatically. The cube thing was sucked into it. Kei fiddled with his monitor screen. Although he had never played a game, it did not take him long to understand it.

He opened the 'bagpack' menu in which filled with blue cube objects. Kei opened the menu, a notification appeared in front of him. A watch? Whatdoes thatmean? Unlike other players who get various kinds of weapons, he actually gets a watch that is completely useless in combat.

"Key, what did you get?" A hoarse voice sounded greeting from behind. Apparently Zoan. He has returned from hiding.

"Watchi."

"Watchall? That's not in the rules. Look, I got an arrow!"

Zoan approached, trying to show off the weapons he had obtained. While Kei's watch only shimmered for a moment, it dimmed again.

"We'd better split up, Kei. Again I say, good luck."

Zoan. Kei sighed harshly. He stared at the tall building, soon the game would actually begin.

"Tests.tes.. Aa, alright now you all have got various weapons. Some are deadly, some are just useless trash. Sure, we're random weapons. So whatever you receive, that's your luck or your bad luck. Because this is where, in this languish your destiny is toyed with. The hunt will begin a minute after the sound of an explosion is heard. Your goal is to survive the hunt of our hunters and get into this building. Ah, by the way, this building is called Proxius. Please enter the monitor screen data. Good luck, and good luck!"

Kei still doesn't understand. Why does everyone have to say good luck? Is this game so stressful? Judging from what Zoan said, this game is adventure genre, aka adventurer. Whether the hunter is like a monster, or a meteor storm, they will know after 50 seconds have passed.

The last ten seconds. Kei's sweat drips. For some reason, he felt tense. Kei has no weapons to defend himself. He had no shield when he was attacked secretly. The watch he wore was invisible, invisible.

BOOM!

Smoke filled the sky. The atmosphere turned boisterous. Hundreds of climbers ran towards the white building called Proxius. Some down. Hundreds of bow arrows floated, piercing through their bodies.

Kei hid behind the grass, observing what would happen next. He activated his monitor. The number of climbers reduced drastically in just a matter of minutes, while the number that escaped, zero.

Kei was busy observing. A petite girl ran sangqt fast. His zig-zag movement dodged the bow perfectly. He moves like an assassin. Now the girl was right in front of Proxius. One person is declared to pass the exam.

The assassin girl became the first person to be declared to pass on the exam floor. He does not use weapons, relying only on speed and accuracy.

Thirty minutes passed. The arrow arc attack died down. Some players galloped, hoping to get inside Proxius before the second attack came.

"I must hurry too!"

The climbers arrived midway. Now, it wasn't the bow that was blocking them. Dozens of 'hunters' were deployed. Anybody carrying a sword, spear, even bare hands?

The fight is inevitable. They have to deal with hunters. The level is certainly far above the climbers.

"Gruesome!"

The silver-haired man moved in silence. Indeed, not as good as the assassin girl just now. But at least he can assess the condition, when to stop and when to start moving. He has taken a quarter of the way.

"Where are you going?" A red-haired man brandished his arrow bow.

Kei looked up. Body vibrates. He did not dare to look at the face of the hunter. The arrow arcs that looked pointed with the ends clad in silver-colored steel looked extremely frightening.

But, this voice....

Inevitably, Kei looked up higher.

The man spoken is still a thousand languages silent. He still tightened his bow. In response, he released his arrow bow to Kei's right arm. Fresh blood is pouring out.

"What are you doing, Zoan!" Kei reflex holds the injured part.

"Fuck? Missed out? I thought it had broken through your heart earlier. Do you remember what I said, Kei? We're all here enemies! Killing you, is tantamount to reducing my rivals! You see those who fight?" Zoan pointed an arrow at two. "They're not hunters! There were no hunters on the exam floor. They are climbers! Now, accept your death!"

Zoan shot a second arrow. Again he missed. Wasn't it! More precisely, someone brushed it off.

"Who!" Zoan looked to the left right, looking for players who were interfering with his hunt.

Kei hurried back. He has not known the attack just targeted Zoan or himself, or even targeted both. Referring to Zoan's words, they are all enemies!

The splash!

Again the attack came. Now the attack sliced through Zoan's calf skin. The red-haired man exclaimed furiously. He shot an arrow in any direction.

"Oh, our business is not finished! I don't care about those attacks anymore! This time, I have to kill you before I kill him!"

Kei closed his eyes. Yes, perhaps with death, he could return to his world and learn how to pass the test.

Zoan drew his bow strong. "Good bye! First friend!"

BOOM!

Zoan's movement stopped. In fact, his noisy voice was no longer heard. Slowly, Kei opened his eyes. He was aghast, falling back a few steps. In front of his eyes, Zoan's body had sprawled helplessly filled with bloodstains.

"Sound! How come he didn't disappear?" The sound from behind shocked him.

"Who are you? Why did you kill him?"

"Huh? Didn't he just want to kill you? Shouldn't you thank me?"

"Y-yes, it's true. But why did he have to be killed?"

The blue-haired man exhaled a rough breath. "I hate those who brandish guns to unarmed people. You know what I mean, right?"

Kei nodded slowly. He stared at Zoan's body filled with fresh blood. The betrayal he felt was painful. In this new world, Zoan was the first person to help him introduce the world of 'Tower of Destiny' to him. He thought Zoan was a good man who would accompany him up the tower to the top.

"New boy, listen to me. We can't trust anyone too much. The more you believe it, the deeper it will hurt if they betray you. In fact, it could be that you won't be able to get up again." The man turned around, waving his hands ready to leave.

"Am I not allowed to trust you even if you have helped me?"

The unidentified man stopped his footsteps. The atmosphere was quiet for a moment. "Yes. Me included. Better get your weapons out and get ready for the next attack."

"But I didn't get a gun."

"What?" Hearing Kei's words, the man turned to approach her. Now their distance was one step away. Kei's watch glowed again, then dimmed again. It only happened for no more than a second. No one noticed it.

"really. I just got a watch, which somehow got out for a while and then disappeared. Even if I put it on, it's not visible at all." Kei pointed at his left wrist, though,
