The howls of the wolves rang out loud to each other, like a song in the middle of the desolate atmosphere of the wilderness. As well as the sound of the wind moving the leaves creating a rustling sound, making the forest tonight was not as calm as usual.
The full moon is perfectly formed, creating a dim illumination in the bleak middle of the night.
Under the high cliff deep in the forest, lay the body of a little girl with her eyes closed. His face was pale, and there were traces of dried blood at the corners of his lips and nose. His thin body was wearing rather oversized clothes, looked shabby and dirty and had tears in some parts of his clothes.
The clump around him was heavily exposed to something dark brown, it was dried blood coming from the girl's body. It fell from a height.
There was no breathing or gasping coming out of the girl's nose or mouth. Makes it look like a corpse.
A wild wolf came, surrounded and sniffed the little girl's body. Feeling that he was having dinner, the wolf's mouth opened about to tear the meat in front of him, but before that happened, the girl's fingers twitched and an explosion of energy occurred in the surroundings, then the wolf went away quickly away from him.
The girl's eyes suddenly opened wide, revealing both dark red irises that were slightly dimly lit, but empty.
He held on to that position for a while, before his body snapped and his eyelids flickered. When he opened his eyes again, both of his irises had turned sapphire blue.
The girl looked even more lifeless than just a moment ago when she just fell silent while opening her eyes.
He got up from his position, then touched the stomach. Moments later her originally tense shoulders began to relax and the girl smiled in relief. His blue eyes were already filled with dew, his tears were almost unstoppable.
He might feel happy right now because the previously blood-soaked body was still fine without being scratched in the least. But that happiness was lost in an instant, when the girl realized some strange changes.
His whole mind went back empty realizing what had really happened. He really does not believe, realizing now the body he occupies is no longer the original body, but the body of others.
Rinka was stunned in confusion, she felt like she was out of place. I really can't believe his current situation. He should have died, but his soul had instead entered the body of a little girl who had also just died.
What the hell's going on? How could this be?
Rinka observes a hand smaller than hers, while re-sorting the strange events she has just experienced.
This time, he had actually experienced death. The stranger just said it was ordered by 'Master', maybe it was his father's order. His father may have tried to kill him, but unfortunately, God did not let that desire materialize, because he is still alive today despite having to be in a different body.
Rinka clenched her hands, suddenly feeling a tightness in her chest. All this time he felt he had adjusted to accept the mistreatment of others, but realizing the fact that his own father would kill him, he could not lie if his heart felt pain. There were feelings of disappointment and anger, but the feeling of emptiness was more domineering.
At the moment Rinka is on a different land, it is impossible for her to return. The land where he lived was very far away from the land he was currently on.
Really, he really did not expect something like this to happen in his life. He often wanted to end his life, but he always failed. Even this time, even if not at his will, he still survived.
It seems that from now on he has to get used to his new life, with a different identity. No longer trying to kill himself, because this is not his body. He was afraid that the previous owner would punish him for abusing his body. Silly indeed, but he wanted to erase that feeling.
God seems to want it too.
The wind again blew, sending a cold feeling when it hit his small body that made Rinka shiver. It seems like dawn is coming soon, that's why the air is so cold.
A bright blue light suddenly appeared not far from where Rinka was. He frowned, noticing the strange object floating in the air.
It was not an inanimate object, because it could fly around freely. They are called the Spirit of the Forest. Rinka found out about it from a book she had read a lot. However, they usually do not appear in front of humans, because they consider humans as a bully. A coincidence Rinka could see them directly.
The Forest Spirit was a type of magic creature that was quite dangerous. Their bodies are shaped like small pie cakes enveloped by white or blue flames and have a tail, as well as a red circle in the center of their bodies.
In the book that Rinka read, the Spirit of the Forest will be ignorant when they feel disturbed by the arrival of humans. Forest Spirits could not be touched, they would instantly burn humans or any object that touched them instantly.
So at this moment Rinka felt frightened, realizing that the little thing was slowly approaching her. It floated slowly towards him, and Rinka did not have enough energy to dodge.
Unexpectedly, the little spirit touched his hand. Rinka felt a faint chill at her fingertips. Instead of burning, the Spirit raised his hand, tugging several times as if telling him to stand up.
Rinka complied carefully, fearing that the Spirit was disturbed and ended up burning it. He moved his new body slowly to stand up. And at that moment he realized that his present body was indeed smaller than his former body. Because the body he was in right now belonged to a thirteen year old girl, whereas he was already nineteen years old.
Rinka felt another push on her back, apparently there were two Forest Spirits pushing on her back. It was scary, but somehow Rinka was amazed. Their light was beautiful, illuminating the surroundings with a gentle light.
As they tried to lead her, the girl chose to obey. He began to step on his feet and felt a slight difference when walking. His legs felt shorter and lighter.
Rinka walks into the forest without knowing her purpose, only letting the Forest Spirits lead her. He walked long enough to unknowingly cross the border of the lush tree, apparently the Spirit of the Forest led him out of the forest.
Rinka can see the guardrail made of wood that indicates he really has come out of the wilderness. He also saw the fields, housing should not be far from there.
Thank you for leading me out.
Rinka walks to a housing estate that is quite far enough to be reached on foot. He passed through fields planted with various kinds of food and tubers. The field that used to be a place to work for him, ralat where Rinka Taira works.
That's right, somehow they happen to have a similar name, just a different surname or last name. In addition, their physical features are also the same, silver hair and blue eyes. Regardless of their age, Rinka feels like she is moving rather than possessing someone else's body. It's just that he went back to being a child because of his size.
Sorry Rinka, I don't think I'm the right person to fill your body. I am just a weak and useless person.
In his memory, Rinka finds out the girl who owns this body named Rinka Taira. He is a low level of the nation of witches in this country. He lives with a mother, who is waiting for him to come home.
To be honest, Rinka does not know what to behave like when she meets her mother later. He was not sure he could behave naturally like the girl who still inhabited his body. What if everyone knew that the one inhabiting this body was no longer the real Rinka? Will he be re-excommunicated?
Not feeling the girl walking up to the door of his house, he just believed what was in his memory to bring him to the door of a house, the house of the girl, Rinka.
A very simple house. However, for some reason his heart felt comfortable to be there even if it was just standing outside. This was so sudden, Rinka did not understand the comfortable feeling she was feeling. He only speculates if the feelings that arise are purely from the previous owner of the body, and he feels them.
Ah, he really wants to get in.
Rinka hesitantly grabs the doorknob and intends to open it. However, before that happened, the door opened first and the figure of an adult woman with a sinister look looked at him furiously.
She is Rinka's mother.
Rinka lowered her hand that was hanging in the air slowly, then gulped her saliva roughly and looked down at the ground. He felt the cold around him.
"Rinka! Where have you been?" the woman was angry.
Rinka shuddered in horror, she did not know if the girl's mother was so creepy.
"A–anu .. i-it's me—"
"Rinka!"
Rinka instantly clenched her lips back not daring to answer. Suddenly, his wrist was forcefully pulled and dragged into the house.
Other memories appeared, memories coming from him. A bad memory suddenly appeared. He recalled being forced into a lair of venomous snakes to retrieve eggs.
Rinka still remembers when the snake bit her leg and knocked her unconscious for a week. During that time, he must continue to listen to the hurtful words that come from the people who care for him. They keep complaining about the same thing, which is how troublesome it is to take care of an unlucky child.
This kid is indeed a pesky carrier, even for himself.
"If I'm advising you not to daydream, look me in the eye, Rinka!"
Rinka flinched, she subconsciously forgot her current state. Her mother was very angry. Perhaps after this, he would punish him for ignoring his words.
Suddenly the woman crouched. Holding Rinka's shoulders very firmly. Just then, Rinka heard a sobbing that made her look up at the face of the mother.
"Had you said you should have let them go, I didn't want to see you keep getting hurt, honey." His cries broke, powerless to stem the tears that kept piling up. The woman's heart was wounded imagining how much hurt her daughter had to receive.
Rinka suddenly felt her heart ache, staring at the teary face of a woman she was supposed to call mother in this world. It was the first time someone cried for her.
The soft hand turned to touch his cheek, channeling a warm feeling that flowed into the heart. Unknowingly, Rinka's tears also spilled along with a sense of tightness that burst when he saw the look on the face of the mother. There was no longer an angry expression, nor a sinister aura, there was only the look on the face of a mother who was worried about her daughter.
Rinka could see the pain through the mother's eyes, making her heart shake. He was not sure if his feelings were pure from his heart, for he had never felt them before.
"Rin, why are you quiet? Did they do anything that hurt you?"
Suddenly, Rinka's memory was filled with something else that made her tremble in fear. The question from the mother makes Rinka forced to recall how Rinka Taira died. Feeling the girl's feelings when her death came, she was dropped from a very high cliff, then hit the surface very hard. It made her feel traumatized.
Rinka involuntarily closed her eyes tightly and closed her ears. He seemed to hear strange voices calling out, as the shadow continued to appear and whisper inside his head. His body was limp for a moment.
And without being prevented, Rinka collapsed unconscious amid the noise that raged in her head.
To be continued.
