Research (Part 3) - Episode 26

Evan and Raihan return to the dark forest. But luckily because it was still daytime, the atmosphere was not too scary. But even so, Raihan still looked terrified.

"Raihan, can you not turn on the flashlight?" Evan asked annoyedly.

"But it's dark here" said Raihan, who still holds the flashlight.

"Where to go? it's only nine o'clock in the morning" Evan said as he continued walking.

Buk!!

"Ouch!" Said Raihan who stumbled on something.

Evan who saw Raihan stumble immediately turned and ran towards Raihan. Raihan seemed to be still trying to get up and then sitting on the ground. Evan who saw Raihan's knee injured, he immediately took a box of P3K from his bag and treated Raihan's wounds.

"Are you okay?" Evan asked as he immediately picked up a P3K box.

"Yes, but where did you get that box?" Ask Raihan.

"Reza took it, I took it from his bag. I don't think it's a problem I'm taking it" Evan said as he picked up a plaster.

"Akhhh!. This heart hurts a little" said Raihan.

"Everyday, next time look ahead" said Evan while patting a verada wound on Raihan's knee.

"Ouch!! what the hell are you!? sick tau!" Raihan said while removing Evan's head from his sight.

"Well, what made you stumble?" Ask Evan.

"Maybe tree roots" Raihan said.

Raihan stood back up. When Raihan stood up, Evan who was still trying to hang the P3K box back to his jacket immediately saw the object that made Raihan stumble earlier.

"Ehh, Raihan are you sure that making you stumble is indeed the root of the tree?" Ask Evan.

"Let's see, I'm just guessing. Is it the root of a tree?" Ask Raihan back.

"You have to see this" Evan said.

When Raihan turned back, it was not the stone or the tree roots that made him stumble. But it looks like there is a mound that resembles something and Evan is sure if something is buried there.

"What is this thing?" Ask Raihan.

"Come, but we have to run it according to me" Evan said.

Finally Evan and Raihan immediately dig the object using their own hands. It was not as easy as it seemed, the ground was so hard. Even though the surrounding land is quite easy to dig.

"Is this actually soil or rock? it's hard to dig" Raihan complained.

"It's still multiplying" said Evan.

After a while later, Raihan and Evan finally managed to dig out the object that made Raihan stumble earlier. When successfully lifted from the ground, the shape looks like a golden headdress.

"What is this thing? it looks like a headdress" Raihan said.

"That's it, but we have to bring this back and show this to Reza and the others" Evan said.

Meanwhile in the village, Selly seems to be looking for many ways to persuade and extract a little information from Kartika. But it seems he didn't get the right time. They both cut vegetables for lunch.

"Why did you come to this island?" Ask Kartika.

"Reza's? the man who went to the rice field with dad?" Ask Kartika.

"Yes" Selly replied.

"He's your girlfriend? or don't don't the chocolate jacket?" Ask Kartika.

"Evan?" Ask Selly who thinks if what Kartika means is Evan.

"Ahhh. yes, if not wrong name Evan" replied Kartika.

Then Kartika immediately took his cellphone and seemed to be looking for something. It turns out that although a little rarely known, it turns out the technology on the island of Sujapa is not far compared with in the city.

"What is he looking for?" Ask Selly wonder.

"This photo was sent by Evan's friend, I see you and Evan are very romantic in this photo" said Kartika.

Selly who saw the photo shown by Kartika also immediately put on a face like he wanted to beat someone. It turns out that the photo directed by Kartika is a photo taken by Raihan when Selly was hugging Evan.

"Remove that photo now" Selly said, holding a knife.

"B-good" answered Kartika.

"Let's see Raihan, I'll make sure you'll regret it later" Selly said in her heart.

Then Selly was immediately reminded of his mission that must persuade Kartika to marry.

"Oh yes, Kartika" Selly said.

"Yes what's wrong?"

"Why don't you want to get married again?" Ask Selly.

Kartika immediately stopped cutting vegetables and immediately fell silent when he heard the question from Selly. For a while Kartika remained silent and did nothing.

"My mother once forbade me to marry before I got my education when I was 7 years old, she also said she would protect me when Dad was angry and would protect me from anything that would do me harm. But I was stubborn, I was married before further education, and as a result all my future husbands died" said Kartika.

"So, where's your mother now?" Ask Selly.

"He left, he used to say he'd be back when I got married. But I don't know how things are now, now I'm accepted at a college. But Dad still wants me to get married" said Kartika while shedding a few tears.

"Have you told your father about this?" Ask Selly.

"Not yet, Mom also said don't tell Dad about this. But if I don't give a clear reason, Dad will definitely still marry me" said Kartika.

"You just tell me if you want to do further education" Selly said.

"No. Dad doesn't want me to go far, so it's free" replied Kartika.

"But from your heart, which one do you want? continuing education or getting married? only you can choose the path of your life, if you choose the wrong path then it is over. The name of marriage is not only to unite married couples, but also start a new life, so think well and do not rush or because of the influence of someone" said Selly while starting to cut vegetables.

"Well, I'll think about it" answered Kartika as she wiped her tears.

Then they went back to peeling vegetables and talking about things outside of marriage. Indeed, not much information they get about Kartika or about the death of her two future husbands is still a mystery, but at least Selly managed to persuade Kartika. Now all lives depend on the decision of Kartika, whether she wants to continue her education or get married.
