"Please drink the tea first, sister" said Marlina
"Yes, thank you Lin" said Amar, then brewed the tea.
"Sister, isn't it big brother today there's a lecture, why come here?" ask Marlina.
"Yes Lin, there was a lecture today, but I deliberately skipped and came here because there are things I want to ask you" Amar explained.
"Ask what's it about, brother?" marlina asked a little panicked from looking at Amar's serious-looking face.
"I want you to answer honestly Lin, why did you quit college?" amar asked with a sharp eye towards Marlina.
Suddenly Marlina was surprised to hear a question from Amar who suddenly asked her about it.
"A... I really want to quit college, and help mom work" replied Marlina terbatas.
"Jawab honestly Lin, I already know everything about why you stopped going to college" said Amar who had not turned his eyes towards Marlina who looked down.
"Where do you know?" asked Marlina who did not dare to look towards Amar.
"It doesn't matter I know where Lin is, but why don't you talk honestly about this, why are you lying?" ask Amar.
"Sorry sister I didn't mean to lie to you, but I just didn't want you to come think about my problem" Marlina said with teary eyes.
"Never have such thoughts again, if you need help telling me, same to your friends. I will always be there to help you whenever you need" explained Amar.
It felt like Amar was hugging Marlina who was crying in front of him.
"I'm sorry sister" said Marlina sniffled.
"Have Lin not been sad, remove your tears, I can help you so that you can go back to college" said Amar.
"No, brother, thank you in advance. But I just want to quit college and help my mom work" Marlina explained, wiping her tears.
"Are you sure of your decision?" ask Amar.
"Very sure" answered Marlina convincingly.
Amar can't force Marlina to go back to college. But in his heart, Amar felt very sad. It feels like Amar is helping and making her happy, but Amar is aware at this time he has not been entitled to give it all openly.
Amar promised himself that he would bring Marlina to happiness with him.
After Amar's return, Marlina approached her mother who was cooking in the kitchen.
"Lho mommy is crying, why mom, same story me why mom crying?" asked Marlina who looked very worried who knew that her mother was crying.
"Father Lin, this is the eyes of the mother just the taste of the onion peel" replied Harti reasoned.
"No, I don't lie, I know you cry not because of onions, mom's story, what's up, don't make me worry" said Marlina, then clasped her mother's hand.
Ms. Harti did not answer the question from her son, instead her sobs grew louder. It felt like Ms. Harti could not stem the sadness she was feeling right now.
Marlina is confused and worried about seeing her mother. Marlina hugged her mother and cried.
"Mom, mother actually why, why did you cry like this.. I'm sorry mommy is crying because of me" said Marlina.
"No son, I'm not crying because of you, I'm crying because I don't feel good being a parent to you" replied Ms. Harti, tightening her arms.
"why do you say that, I don't like you saying that, for me, you're the perfect best parent for me, and I'm proud to have parents like you.. so I beg you not to say that again" Marlina explained, then took off her arms, and wiped away the remaining tears on her mother's cheeks.
"Sorry mother Lin, because your mother stopped going to college, I'm sorry" said Harti, who again cried bitterly, clasping her two children's palms tightly.
"mom kicked me out, I quit college because of my own will, because I want to work so I can help mom, so you don't blame yourself like that" explained Marlina softly.
"Son, you don't lie to me, I already know the truth. You quit college because you were expelled from college, because you haven't paid your tuition yet" said Ms. Harti looked at her son with tears flowing from her eyes.
Marlina is shocked to hear the words of her mother who has learned the real reason why she quit college.
For a moment Marlina fell silent, confused as to what to tell her mother.
"Mom's sorry" Harti added.
"Mother.who should be sorry is me, not mom, because I lied to you about college.I'm sorry mom, I didn't mean to lie to you, mom, I just don't want to see mom sad because I got kicked out of college" Marlina explained, feeling very guilty about her mother.
"Where do you know about this?" ask Marlina.
"The mother had accidentally heard your conversation with son Amar, sorry mother" replied Ms. Harti.
"Already ma'am, don't keep apologizing, mother is not wrong" said Marlina then hugged her mother back.
It hurt Marlina to see her mother crying in front of her. But right now only a hug can he give to his mother. He promised in his heart that he would make his mother happy and proud of him.....
