Ep. 9. Against the Lion King

"Do you think by coming here you can get these crystals?." The Lion King circled around Zao Ling's body with sharp eye beads while speaking in a cold and heavy voice.

"I went through a blizzard to get here, of course. I'm not going home empty-handed!."In the presence of the ascetic beast with a Spirit level far above him, Zao Ling did not show the slightest fear.

"Hum, I love your courage." The lion king stopped circling Zao Ling's body then he sat down near the crystals that Zao Ling was aiming for.

The Lion King looked at Zao Ling and said."If you can defeat me, then these crystals are yours!." The lion king smiled evilly, although Zao Ling had the courage to speak to him, but the difference in level far away remained the decisive one.

Zao Ling of course understood by the lion king's intent, Zao Ling lowered his head and muttered."Wanna kick me out, cih. It won't."

Zao Ling concentrated Chi then concentrated it on both legs, slowly the golden chi energy clad in Zao Ling's legs, after which Zao Ling looked up looking ahead and said."Explosion!."

Explosions of golden energy blew away the air and puffs of dust scattered on the ground.

The dust covered the view of the Lion King, but due to the high level of Spirit, the lion king could see a golden light that shot out like a rocket towards him.

The smiling lion king then let out an extremely fierce roar, the roar shaking the ground as well as the ceiling of the Cave.

The Zao Ling who was in lightning mode instantly bounced and dragged backwards for up to several meters.

The corner of Zao Ling's lips was spitting out fresh blood, her chest suddenly ached. Zao Ling looked ahead, there the lion king was smiling triumphantly.

"Just like that you're a little boy!."The evil grin was painted on the Lion King's face, he knew that his attack had injured Zao Ling.

"Currently, I'm not done yet." Zao Ling stomped his right foot and shot out with lightning speed towards the lion king.

In front of the lion king, Zao Ling immediately clad his fist with golden Chi energy and then threw a punch towards the Lion King.

The smiling lion king then glanced in the direction of the attack, instantly a chi energy with a bright blue color struck Zao Ling.

"Fuuff." Zao Ling spewed out fresh blood and bounced against the walls of the Cave then fell to the ground violently.

"Little boy, get out of here if you still love your life!." The lion king looked at Zao Ling with a trivial gaze as he spoke.

"Huhahah."Zao Ling suddenly laughed, then slowly got up and stood looking at the Lion King.

Zao Ling wiped the fresh blood on the corner of her lips as she said."I told you, I'm not going home empty-handed!."

The lion king squinted his eyes, he stared with a glare of sharp eyes then said."You really want to die!."

The lion king darted very quickly and clawed at Zao Ling with his sharp Chi-clad hooves in blue.

"Araa!." Zao Ling bounced into the air, but the lion king did not stop his attack.

The lion king darted quickly then tore Zao Ling's body in the air, then the lion king gathered Chi energy in front of his mouth.

The blue Chi energy gathered together and formed a large ball, the lion king released the Chi ball like a laser and struck Zao Ling.

Beggg!!!

"Arrrrghhh!!!."Zao Ling's yelling sound rang out along with an enormous explosion of chi energy that shattered the ceiling of the Cave.

A puff of smoke covered the entire cave passage, the Lion King slowly landed on the ground perfectly.

His eyes were fixed towards the smoke puff that slowly disappeared swept away by the wind, despite not exerting all of his abilities, but the attack should have been able to destroy the body of Zao Ling who was only at the 7-star Wood Spirit level.

Inside the ruins appeared to be Zao Ling lying weakly with a body full of black stains, her limbs showing no signs of going about to make a move.

The lion king murmured."Already done?."

"Uh." Zao Ling suddenly let out a sound, then slowly got up and put away the ruins that had befallen her body.

Zao Ling stood up with a limp body then said."I-I'm not going home empty-handed."

The lion king narrowed his eyes and said."I like that, now. I won't hold back anymore."

After saying that, the Lion King instantly detonated an enormous energy from within his body, a bright blue-colored chi energy wrapped around the body of the Lion King to form a full-armor Armor, its wings expanding.

Then the Lion King gathered all the chi energy in front of his mouth to form a giant Chi ball.

Zao Ling closed his eyes and said."Sir, help me!."

"Of course, you don't have to worry!."A voice from within Zao Ling replied.

Zao Ling opened her eyes, the instant her brown eyeballs turned golden yellow, two pairs of wings appeared behind her back, her body emitting an extremely fierce aura.

The lion king was surprised, his eyes widened and then said."This aurah, Spirit Emperor's aurah!."

Zao Ling raised his hand upwards, then dozens of golden Chi-clad swords emerged from the void and floated in the air.

Zao Ling looked at the Lion King with cold eyes and said."I didn't think that after knowing this kid was my reincarnation, you still dared to attack him!."

The lion king widened his eyes even more, painted in fear on the face of the lion king.

The lion king said."Tu-Master Yuan Li, please forgive me!."

One corner of Zao Ling's lips was interested in forming an evil grin.

Zao Ling said."It's too late!."

After saying that, Zao Ling moved her hand towards the lion king while saying."Heavenly spirit!."

Quickly dozens of swords clad in golden chi energy that floated in the air shot out and rained down on the lion king.

With the peach tree Zao Ling awoke, and he saw a vast ocean with stars shining brightly in the sky.

"Hey little boy!."

Frowning Zao Ling said."Who's that?."

"It's me!."

Zao Ling turned around and gazed towards the source of the voice, there the figure of a handsome man in golden robes sitting cross-legged on the rock while staring at the moonlight.

The man's face looked very calm and peaceful.

Zao Ling said."Sir, thank you for helping me!."

"Grand." The man turned his head for a moment towards Zao Ling after that looked back at the moon.

"From today on, I will take care of you until you grow into a strong man!."Said the man.
