The old Dutch architecture building looks magnificent, located on the edge of the Batanghari River, only limited by the highway.
The building looks solid with walls made on high walls, about 5 meters high. The entire building is painted in cream color combined with dark brown.
The doors and windows are large and high, made of strong tembesu wood with frames from bulian wood that are famous for being very hard.
The yard is quite spacious surrounded by carved iron fences and planted with various types of flowers that are neatly arranged and neatly.
To the left of the building there is a tennis court that is green and surrounded by a wire fence as high as 4 meters. On the right is a guard post guarded by several men in uniform and equipped with several guns placed on the table.
The entire front yard is covered with asphalt where in the middle there is a flagpole.
The magnificent building is the official house of the governor of Jambi Province
Jambi Province is one of the provinces in Indonesia located in the middle of the southern island of Sumatra.
Before becoming a province this area was a Residency area led by a resident as the head of the region, which is part of the Province of Central Sumatra.
The province of Central Sumatra consists of three residencies, namely West Sumatra Residency, Riau Residency and Jambi Residency with its capital in Padang.
On August 9, 1957 it was changed into its own province with the issuance of Emergency Law No.19 on the establishment of West Sumatra Province, Riau Province and Jambi Province signed by President Soekarno.
The capital of Jambi Province is Jambi City which is led by a Mayor, its population consists of various ethnicities such as Minang, Java, Batak, Sunda, Bugis, China, Arab, India and others.
The everyday language is Malay, somewhat similar to Indonesian, differing only slightly especially in the pronunciation of the letter A at the end of the word which is replaced with the letter O as where it becomes dimano, who becomes a ready.
The city of Jambi is not too big is actually quite beautiful, the road is winding up and down, coupled with the existence of a lake in the middle of the city and the longest river in Sumatra that divides in the middle of the city is very interesting if laid out properly.
This morning in the courtyard of the governor's office house was filled with a group of dancers who were going to Jakarta.
They wear a brown suit uniform with the Jambi regional emblem on the left chest, light brown pants.
They will depart by boat from the port of the ship in Jambi to the port of Tanjung Periuk Jakarta.
Cheerful faces, laughter accompanied their departure, understand most of them have never traveled far, especially to Jakarta.
After following the release ceremony by the governor, the dance troupe moved to the port which was not too far from the governor's house with a foot wear while carrying their respective bags.
Stone bombs, such as the name of the port, no one knows what it means, maybe there was a bomb near the rock, or there was a stone hit by a bomb, maybe the bomb was made of stone, I don't know if the name has been attached for a long time.
One by one the dancers began to climb the stairs and enter the ship, looking for their respective places that have been determined.
The ship that will transport them is quite large weighing 3000 tons, this Indonesian-flagged ship looks new with cet colored combination of brown and black, On the front quite side it says the name of the ship * OCEAN * beside the right and left, near it appears the anchor chain plunged into the water, there are also two lifeboats.
After raising the anchor and ringing the siren the ship began to move down the Batanghari river. Along the banks of the river were rubber factories with black smoke rising and some wood processing plants.
The river that became the pride of the people of Jambi is polluted water, the color of the water is not clear anymore, has turned brown and oily, garbage scattered everywhere, floating on the surface of the water, and, factory waste takes part in polluting the river.
The river is no longer a comfortable place for aquatic creatures, many are extinct, but once this river is famous for its various types of fish.
Occasionally, the motor boat (engine boat) was milling at high speed, as if racing, it also appeared that a barge carrying pebbles moved staggered against a fairly swift current.
Towards dusk they reached the mouth of the river, where the sea water and river water meet, the color of the water began to change somewhat bluish, looks like a village floating on the surface of the water, and, Kampung Laut is the name of the village.
Most of the population is immigrants from South Sulawesi, Bugis people who work as fishermen and coconut farmers.
From a distance already visible light flickering flickering lights from the houses in the village board, some of the sailing ships seem to lean near the village.
The sun is leaning westward emitting a reddish light, fish birds fly over the sea looking for prey, sometimes dived and dived into the water and then out again mermankannya results.
Also seen flying fish (Flying fish /Exoetidae ) jump from the water and fly by spreading its wings until a few meters and then enter again into the water.
The ship continued to advance out of the river towards the Strait of Berhala towards the south, the sea mangarungi that looked so wide.
Haris' heart was a bit faint when looking at the sea off, how about this ship to sink like the Titanic ? maybe they will be eaten by predatory fish that are found in the sea, or maybe they will be stranded to a remote island inhabited by the primitive and then be cleansed and made into satay or burned round like a goat bolster.
A bright atmosphere welcomes the arrival of the morning, the sun emits its rays from the horizon, the longer the more he shows his speech as if greeting, saying good morning.
The dancers did not want to miss this beautiful moment, they stood at the edge of the ship looking at the sun against the background of the sea that reflected the sunlight, beautiful.
Haris stood at the front of the ship accompanied by Fitria, one of the dancers who had been close to him.
" Have you ever been on a Fit ship ? ".
" No, if Haris' sister ? ".
" I haven't either, it's my first experience ".
" The sea is beautiful, brother ".
Then silent, they are busy enjoying the breeze.
" Fit what if suddenly this ship sinks ? ".
" Ah, don't be brother ".
Fitria said worriedly.
" I heard in these months the weather is erratic, fishermen do not dare to go to sea because large waves can come at any time.
Harris explained.
" Hopefully that doesn't happen ".
Phitria is getting anxious.
" It could be, and if it really happened this ship would sink, all passengers would be eaten by sharks, except you ".
" Why can it ? ".
Fittria asked in wonder.
" The shark has a crush on you ".
Haris smiled seductively, Fitria blushed.
" I died curious and transformed into a whale, then I dueled the shark, how dare he have a crush on you ".
" Ha.ha.ha.ha, Brother Haris is so funny ".
Phythria covered her mouth with her hands.
In the afternoon the ship had started to leave the Strait of Berhala entering the Strait of Bangka, the weather was still bright, there was no sign that waves would appear as feared.
Andini approached Haris who was standing at the front of the ship with several people who were taking pictures.
" Riss ".
Haris looked towards Andini.
" Eh Andini, let's stand here ".
" You didn't bring a camera ? ".
" I'll take it for a moment ".
Haris immediately walked inside to grab the camera, but not so far away he suddenly saw a huge wave rolling in from a distance, he immediately turned around and shouted.
" Hurry in!, there's a big wave ! ".
But it seems that they have not realized the lurking danger, still taking pictures while laughing.
" Come in Andini ! there is a big wave !! ".
Too late!, the waves immediately hit the hull, there was a great shock, several people were slammed and one person was thrown into the sea.
" Andinii !! ".
Haris jumped to the sea, with all his strength he swam towards Andini who appeared to drown in the waves.
Finally, with a hard struggle, thrown panting here and there he managed to catch the hand of Andini and then pull it towards the ship.
Arriving beside Haris' ship caught a rope thrown from the ship and tied it to Andini's body.
" You hold this rope tight ".
Andini said Haris, he held on to the rope that had been tied to his body, the rope was then pulled up until Andini managed to get on the boat. After the rope was released from Andini's body and then thrown back down towards Haris.
Haris tried to reach the rope, but had not had time to reach the rope gelombanf came back and swept his body.
" Hariiis !! ".
Andini screamed hysterically, she tried to plunge into the sea but was prevented by her friends, all became panicked, no longer visible Haris body.
An hour later, the crew searched in circles within a radius of several tens of meters from the ship but there was no sign of anyone floating, finally the ship left the scene of Haris' disappearance, Andini cried so badly that she fell down.
Arriving in Jakarta Andini was picked up by her parents because of severe depression, unable to attend the Jakarta Fair event.
