The Juragan's Third Wife

The Juragan's Third Wife
Not Ready to Lose

When the car carried by Vishnu stopped in the hospital parking lot, Naura opened the door quickly and ran into the hospital.

Naura's face was already wet with tears. His feelings have become chaotic since Vishnu woke him up and invited him to go to the hospital tonight as well.

Naura's move came to a halt in front of the ICCU chamber. Slowly he came in, reported to the guard doctor.

"I'm Naura. Zumi Bragmantio's granddaughter who was temporarily cared for inside."

"Mr Zumi always asks if you've come or not. Wear this green shirt first, wash your hands can only go inside" said the female doctor with a smile.

As much as Naura tried to hold back her cries but she could not when she saw the thin body and pale face of Zumi's grandfather who was lying weakly using various life support tools attached to his hands, nose, and chest.

"Grandfather....!" Call Naura while holding her grandfather's hand.

Zumi opened her eyes slowly. "Naura darling...."

"Grandfather, why is it so thin like this? What's going on?"

Zumi's hand slowly lifted and wiped away her grandson's tears. "Don't cry. You must realize that no man is immortal."

"No! Don't say it's grandpa. I can't do it without Grandpa."

Zumi smile. "Grandfather will leave feeling peaceful knowing that son of Vishnu will take care of you. Grandfather was happy because what Vishnu said when you were still in the stomach, has now been realized. He'll take care of you forever."

"What does grandfather mean?"

"Call Vishnu here! Grandpa wants to talk to him both."

Naura waited outside with a restless feeling. Vishnu has been in Zumi's grandfather's room for almost an hour and he hasn't come out yet. Until finally, Naura was called back to go inside.

"Naura, promise grandfather that you will never ask for a divorce from Vishnu no matter what happens in your household journey. Grandfather believes that Vishnu will be very fair to you" Zumi said in an increasingly weak voice.

Naura looked at Vishnu at a glance. Did her husband complain to Grandpa that Naura ever asked for a divorce from him?

"But cake...!"

"Promise my grandson. Grandpa asked for this not because Vishnu asked for it. Your grandfather knows exactly your character. You're going to ask Vishnu for a divorce if Grandpa leaves?"

"Grandfather, don't say that word. I'm not ready to lose Grandpa." Naura's cry broke again. Oath by whatever, Naura was not ready to be abandoned by her grandfather.

"Promise, boy!"

Naura swallowed her annoyance in heart. "I promise, cake." He said even with a slightly forced tone.

Zumi smiled happily. "Grandfather wants to sleep first. Grandpa's so tired."

"Sleep, cake."

The night is moving faster until the end of the morning. Naura falls asleep on the couch in Zumi's treatment room while Vishnu sits at Naura's feet. The man simply could not close his eyes after hearing what Zumi's grandfather said to him. It is fitting that the man was so strong to want to marry Vishnu to Naura even though he knew that Vishnu had two wives.

Vishnu tries to trace his childhood memories, when he was 9 years old. He once came to the hill house with his grandfather. Selim Furkan's. Turkish man who died when Vishnu was 12 years old.

It was 21 years ago.......

"Grandfather, why are we here?"

Selim smiled at his grandson. "We're going to meet Grandpa's best friend."

Little Vishnu entered the house. He saw a beautiful pregnant woman smiling at him.

"Auntie, is this a baby girl?" ask Vishnu while holding the belly of the beautiful woman.

"Yes. The doctor said she was a girl."

"Will she be as beautiful as an aunt at birth?"

"Maybe she'll be prettier than aunty. Why why?"

"Would I grow up aunty would allow me to marry her?"

The woman smiled. "If you want to love her sincerely, I'll let you."

Zumi and Selim looked at each other.

"Let's match our grandchildren. What do you think, Zumi?" ask Selim.

"I want to. Your granddaughter looks good."

Little Vishnu again touched the belly of the beautiful woman in front of him. "Beautiful sister, you'll be waiting for you to grow up." Then he looked down and kissed the woman in front of him. Aisa's mom who saw that smiled.

The memory of the 21-year-old slowly reopened the childhood story that Vishnu had forgotten. He remembered that when the little girl was born, he and his grandfather returned to the hill house. They brought gifts. A necklace with a sunflower pendant shared behind the pendant read Amorasia, which means Most beloved.

Vishnu surprised. That necklace, where'd he ever see it?

The sound of a long hemodynamic monitor diverts Vishnu's daydreams. He immediately called the watch doctor because he knew what the long sound meant. Naura woke up from her sleep. He immediately cried out hysterically to see the grandfather's body jerking as they used a heart shock device.

"Grandfather....!"

Vishnu immediately hugged Naura and took her outside the room when the medics asked them to come out.

The darkness of the night began to dissipate as their morning light. But Naura who was in Vishnu's arms suddenly felt her world was very dark when one of the doctors came out while mentioning the time of Zumi's grandfather's death. She fainted in her husband's arms.

*********

It has been three days Vishnu accompanied Naura in the rented house of Zumi's grandfather. A simple house located a little on the edge of the city.

Although Vishnu's heart was jealous when he saw Satria, but Vishnu tried to suppress it because Naura did look ordinary.

"Ra, why don't you eat the food?" vishnu asked as he looked at the food that was in front of Naura only reduced a little.

"I'm not hungry, boss. My stomach doesn't taste good anyway. Nausea."

"That's because you don't eat well and regularly. You can get stomach ulcers."

Naura only drank the sweet tea that Vishnu prepared her until it ran out. He stood up and left the dining room. Naura headed to her grandfather's room. He hugged the photo of Zumi's grandfather while continuing to cry.

Vishnu who had finished washing the cutlery that Naura used, followed to the room. He sat down next to Naura and wrapped his hands around her shoulders.

"Think of Zumi's grandfather's departure. Only in this way can you accept this reality, Ra. Grandfather had been relieved of all his pain."

"I don't have anyone else, boss."

"You still have me, Ra. I will accompany your days." Vishnu said gently while rubbing Naura's arm.

Naura actually wanted to say that Vishnu would indeed be with her. But Vishnu could not be his because he had to share it with Regina and Indira. Indeed Vishnu will never be owned by Naura therefore Naura has thrown away all the melancolis feelings that arise every time Vishnu gives attention to him.

Vishnu's phone rings. The man took it from his pants pocket and Naura still had time to read, if the call came from Regina.

"I'll take the call first, will you?" Vishnu then stepped out of the room.

"What's up, Regina?" ask Vishnu coldly.

"Mas, how long will you be there? Naura's grandfather was buried three days ago."

"Regina, Naura is still sad." .

"Mas, my wife is not just him. I need a mas here too. Don't be so side-heavy. This is not fair. Lisa asked me constantly. And he wants to go to the village. I'll wait in my house tomorrow."

"Regina, you can't believe it. I'm not being unfair. Naura is grieving and....."

"Mas, not just this time it's not fair. But in the previous nights it was also unfair. His pokos after mas married Naura, mas attitude changed to me and Indira." There was a cry from Regina across the street.

"Regina, stop crying."

"I'm just waiting for you to pick us up tomorrow. If not, explain it to Lisa herself. Good night."

Vishnu ruffled his hair rough. He is upset with Regina but realizes that what Regina says is true. But isn't leaving Naura to be with Regina at a time like this any more unfair?

Naura who eavesdropped on the conversation understood what was upsetting Vishnu.

"From mba Regina huh?" asked Naura pretending not to know Vishnu's conversation.

"Yes." Yeah."

"This is Regina's schedule. Why don't you go to Regina's house?"

"I want to accompany you, Naura. You're sad."

Naura smiled. "The presence of a master here will not be able to kill my loneliness because of the loss of grandfather. So the boss just go."

Vishnu sat beside Naura. "I'll leave if you come back to the village. I wouldn't be quiet working if I knew you were here."

"I can call Jeslin and ask him to come." .

"And Jeslin will take Satria?"

Naura wanted to laugh at Vishnu's voice which sounded like a jealous person.

"Tomorrow, I will come to the village. But I came home with an Ivory mas. I don't want a car with Regina's mba."

Vishnu could only nod. He was already quite happy when Naura agreed to return to the village.

***********

"Mother Naura can't cry anymore huh? Grandpa won't calm down if you keep crying." Lisa said while holding Naura's hand.

"Mother is not sad anymore. Just can't just forget grandpa because grandpa's grandpa's a really good guy."

Lisa came down from Naura's lap. Both of them were sitting on the side porch.

"Where is Lisa going?"

"Lisa brought a chocolate cake. He said eating chocolate would make us happy. Mommy wait a minute, will you?" said Lisa then half ran into the house and returned with a chocolate cake in place of the quadrilateral.

"This cake was created by Lisa's grandmother. Tastes good. "

Naura took a piece and put it in her mouth. But when his taste buds blend with the sweet cake, Naura feels that she wants to vomit. Naura quickly ran into the house and pulled out her entrails in the toilet in the corner of the living room. Regina just came out of her room to find out who was in the toilet.

"Lisa, who's inside?"

"Mother Naura. Mother immediately vomited when eating the chocolate cake that grandmother gave."

Regina's forehead is wrinkled. Is it true what he thought all along?
