Rescue

I knocked on the door of Linda's room.

"Come in" said Linda.

I went into Linda's room.

"Please sit down" Linda said as she pointed to the chair in front of her desk. I sit.

"Mom called you here because there's something I'm going to say about scout activities" Linda said.

I breathed a sigh of relief. I was not called because I made a mistake.

"The Scouts will be divided into squads. And each squad consisted of four to six people. We still lack people. I asked you to find five more members."

"Yes, Mom."

"About who are the people we can invite to be scouts?"

"If in my opinion, we can invite the members to be Anto, Roni, Wati, Rena and Anis."

"If it's Wati, she can't be invited because her parents won't let her follow the scouts."

"Why, Mom?"

"His parents are worried that anything will happen to their children. Though this scout activity is very safe because it will be carried out near the village," explained Ms. Linda while folding her hands on the table.

"Yes. Wati's parents' worries were indeed too much."

"Mom asked you to find a replacement for Wati. Anybody want to ask?"

"Nothing, Mom."

"good. Then you can leave mom's room."

"Yes. Thank you, Mom."

"Together."

I moved from my seat. Next, I walked to the cafeteria. At rest hours, the canteen is the best place to spend time off other than the library.

"What's wrong?" I asked a student who came across me.

"A student wants to kill herself?"

"Killed yourself?!"

"Yes" he answered, then ran outside the school.

I immediately ran after the student. I wonder who would want to kill themselves in school.

In the schoolyard, there were already many students gathered. Their faces face up against the building. My four-story school building. On top of the building, I saw a student standing on the edge of the roof. Looks like he's going to jump off the top of the building. I can't imagine what the girl would be like if she jumped from such a tall building. It is certain that the girl's head will be crushed and some of her bones will be broken. I was horrified to imagine that.

I couldn't recognize the girl because her face couldn't be seen clearly from down here.

"Who is he?" I asked Widoyo.

Widoyo turned her head, "Laras," she replied later. He turned his eyes towards the girl.

"Why would he kill himself?"

"I don't know" he answered. His gaze remained on the girl as if he did not want to miss the incident for a second.

'Why is no one trying to save him?' my thinking.

"Yo, you better try to save the girl" I suggested to Widoyo.

"How is it?" this time he looked at me.

"You go up to the roof of the building, then pull him from behind" I explained.

He seemed to think for a moment.

"Yes. I'll try," he replied later.

Widoyo immediately climbed onto the roof of the building through the stairs inside the building. With anxious hopes, I waited for Widoyo to make a rescue. I hope Widoyo is not late. A few moments later, I saw Widoyo walking around on the roof of the building like someone who wanted to catch a dragonfly. I held my breath as Widoyo walked over to the girl. Widoyo managed to get close to the girl and held onto the girl's arm, then pulled her from the edge of the roof. I exhaled. Widoyo has managed to save the girl.
