The Ghost Story of LESTARI

The Ghost Story of LESTARI
34. Caught by Damar

Mang Dayat had just reached the end of the road near the residence of Mr. Ageng Parta Prawira when he saw a group of people coming out of the house of Mr. Ageng Parta Prawira.

They seem to be the executioners who are usually paid by Mr. Ageng Parta Prawira for many interests, even often he gave to the Dutch.

Mang Dayat hid in the bushes, while the group of people moved as if in a hurry.

Their hands carry sharp weapons.

Mang Dayat began to think in horror, just in case something bad happened to Ki Gedhe Tirtayasa.

Mang Dayat was still behind the bushes, when one of the executioners who walked the back of the group spoke.

"We go straight to Ki Gedhe Tirtayasa's store, or to Losari?"

"Our assignment to Losari, the most paddle tonight will be leveled by the Japanese army. Mr. Ageng Parta Prawira has informed the Japanese side, if Ki Gedhe Tirtayasa hides the Dutch people."

Mang Dayat behind the bushes flabbergasted in disbelief at the talk of the executioners.

The limp and tremble of Mang Dayat's body, especially when they later talked about the bodies of Samsul and Ki Gedhe Tirtayasa who had been dumped at the same time.

Crushed melted now Mang Dayat's heart. It feels like hearing everything.

Mang Dayat momentarily waited until the group of people went far away, once they had gone unseen, Mang Dayat still trembled leaving the bushes and decided to go to Damar's hiding house.

What he can do, he has to tell Damar about what happened.

So many victims fell, even people who were completely innocent.

However, not to mention that Mang Dayat actually stayed away from the road that led to Mr. Ageng Parta Prawira's residence, suddenly a servant from Mr. Ageng saw Mang Dayat.

The man then chased Mang Dayat while shouting which of course the screams made the other servants of the residence Mr. Ageng Parta Prawira came out and came chasing.

Mang Dayat whose age is no longer young, of course, can not run faster, in an instant he can be caught immediately.

Mang Dayat was brought before Mr. Ageng Parta Prawira.

"That's not knowing it's lucky, not knowing revenge, traitor!!"

Mr. Ageng Parta Prawira snatched a rattan into the body of Mang Dayat whose clothes were immediately stripped.

His already wrinkled skin wrapped around the skinny tang's body looked instantly scarlet.

Mang Dayat groaned in pain, he begged for mercy, but it was too late.

"Where are Lestari and Damar?!"

Bentak Mr. Ageng Parta Prawira.

Mang Dayat tried his hardest to stay silent.

But the wicker's whip back whack, many times, over and over again.

Mang Dayat's thin body now sprawled on the floor, his skin beginning to peel.

Perih, heat and pain fused all over his body.

Mang Dayat moaned, but while Mang Dayat did not say about the existence of Damar and Lestari, then Mr. Ageng Parta Prawira certainly will not give mercy.

Meanwhile, in the padepokan Ki Gedhe Tirtayasa, a group of Japanese soldiers and also the executioner barreled in.

They slaughtered with incredible brutality. Although they did not find the Dutch there as said by Mr. Ageng Parta Prawira, but in fact there are witnesses who justify seeing a blonde woman in the city.

In Losari, the residence of Ki Gedhe Tirtayasa's youngest son also did not escape the attack. Likewise with the houses of Ki Gedhe Tirtayasa's other children.

It is considered possible they all conspired with the Dutch, making the citizens also became angry.

Luckily, Ki Gedhe Tirtayasa's youngest son when the attack occurred in the market, he was shopping, so he was immediately rescued by a courtier, ran and hid to Tegal.

While the massacre took place here and there, a resident who happened to be asked to take Damar to a hiding place was caught while going to Padepokan.

He who was afraid of being killed finally chose to tell the location where Damar and Lestari were hiding.

A servant who last night had captured Samsul finally asked the Japanese side to take care of his own young master.

Of course with a note later they will provide a lot of food to be taken to the battlefield that is needed by the Japanese army.

Abdi Tuan Ageng Parta Prawira returned to the Lord's residence when it was dark.

Mr. Ageng Parta Prawira of course immediately asked them to pick up Damar to be taken home immediately.

**------------**

"Congratulations."

Call Damar to Lestari who just finished taking a shower.

Lestari looked to see Damar who was about to leave so astonished.

Ask Lestari.

Damar grabbed Lestari in his arms.

"Do you believe me?"

Ask Damar.

"Yes." Yeah."

Lestari.

Damar gently stroked Lestari's head.

"My feelings are not calm, I will go home for a while to make sure nothing bad happens to Samsul, Mang Dayat and Ki Gedhe Tirtayasa."

Damar.

Lestari loosened Damar's embrace, looking at the two dim brown eyes of Damar.

"I'll wait here."

Lestari.

Damar.

"We're leaving this place, if there's anything, it's not safe anymore."

Damar.

"Then..."

Lestari looked at Damar in confusion.

Actually the girl is still very innocent, she does not even know the true state of so chaotic is because of her.

Damar then grabbed Lestari's hand, then took her out of the house after making sure no one was there.

Damar took Lestari to a Dutch house that he had dismantled and there was a room on the roof, which was like an attic.

"You're not afraid of ghosts, are you?"

Ask Damar.

Lestari.

"Don't come out until I get home, Dad."

Damar.

Lestari.

Damar kissed Lestari's lips while crying, it felt so hard for Damar this time to leave her lover alone again.

"You're going home, aren't you, Bang? You're coming back, right?"

Lestari asked as soon as Damar took off his kiss.

Damar looked weakly nodded.

"I'll be back, wait."

Damar said as he hugged his girl again.

Until finally, Damar with a heavy heart really must release Lestari.

Damar came out of the attic, covered it with a bookshelf.

Then let it all dark so that nothing looks suspicious.

Damar moves in the dark out of the former homes of Dutch employees who run sugar factories.

It appears that Damar is preparing to go to his home in Kuningan, to convince himself that Samsul, Mang Dayat and Ki Gedhe Tirtayasa are fine.

Damar walked quickly towards the streets, constantly walking in search of a shortcut.

Until he then met the entourage of the servant of Mr. Ageng Parta Prawira.

Yes, as Damar had suspected, the hiding place was in fact not safe anymore.

Damar in order to protect Lestari finally surrendered.

He was brought home, and confronted his father.
