The Father's Choice

The Father's Choice
Zakat

Bulik took out a brown envelope from his bag and handed it to me.

"This is the result of a three-month contract that has been cut to pay for electricity and water, I have also taken this part to live yours," said Bulik to me.

I was also surprised to receive this much money in my lifetime I have never seen let alone hold this much money and now I have money that the amount is somehow I have not been able to count because it is still in shock, because it is still in shock, it turned out that this young man's choice of father was very rich I never imagined my husband who looked just a simple young man but the money he had exceeded the director of a company.

Mr and Bulik did not stay overnight they went straight home he said Mr. wanted to stay at the Bulik house while wanting to talk about something important.

Various ways I had used to persuade the father to want to stay at our house but the father said he wanted to occasionally stay at the Bulik house. I gave some hand snacks typical of Bogor for you to take home because he said tomorrow morning the father will go straight to the village because he did not have the heart to leave the farm and garden for too long.

After the father and Bulik came home I also took out a black crackle and brown envelope brought by the father and Bulik earlier.

"Let's count the money Bang!" take me.

"There is no need to count Dik, the number of which from the father is three hundred and fifty million, while the number from Bulik is twenty-seven million" replied Bang Parlin.

"How could you know?" my many.

"Bapak and Bulik were telling me when you went out to buy souvenirs" said Bang Parlin.

I was amazed to hear the amount of money mentioned by bang Parlin, what a fantastic income my husband even though he was considered unemployed but the money once a harvest can be made to buy a new car.

"We put in the account, Bang the money," I said.

"Yes Dik, it's up to you how good it is but don't forget to take out the two and a half percent zakat" said bang Parlin.

"Two and a half percent Bang?" my many.

"Yes Dik in every income we get there are rights of the poor and orphans by two and a half percent" replied Bang Parlin.

I then took out a calculator and calculated how much money I would have to pay two and a half percent of the three hundred and seventy-seven million, understandably I used to school my math grades ugly so I'm not good at counting.

Nine million four hundred and twenty-five thousand that I have to pay for zakat but I am confused where to pay it to the place of distribution of zakat or bang Parlin has its own way, I'd better ask first.

"Where should we pay this Zakat? to the zakat distributor foundation or Brother has his own way so far?" my many.

"Why do you have to go to one person Bang? not if in the hundred thousand or two hundred thousand more people who receive zakat Bang," said I.

"Yes Dik if divided as such will be many who take zakat money from us but can not change or ease the burden of the person, he said, for example he needs a million to pay for his son's school we only give zakat a hundred thousand anyway it is not enough to pay him, but another story is that if we give a million to one person at least our zakat money can really help solve the problem of that person even if it is only a one person problem," said bang Parlin.

"Oh so, Bang, then we give to whom is our zakat Bang? do you have the views of people who really deserve it?" my many.

I was amazed by the way of thinking bang Parlin even though he was a hick but his thinking was very useful for the person who received this zakat, he said, had all the rich people in this world thought like bang Parlin there would probably not have been anyone less able to get caught up in usury debt.

"Take twenty-five million dikah zakat money count all we spend zakat money that we save in bang and the task to find who deserves it this time Abang leave it to Adik to find out who deserves it the most" said bang Parlin.

I'm more amazed by the nature of Parlin bang he has no sense of emanation to spend money zakat, he said, sometimes there are also rich people who are calculating and stingy in issuing zakat but my husband is very different he is royal and does not feel hesitant to carry out his obligations in issuing zakat.

Who is the right person and entitled to receive this zakat money I began to think somehow the person who first came to my mind was my brother and sister, but are they the right people to receive this money? will their lives change better after receiving this money from us.

****By morning I asked permission to bang Parlin for the road to breathe fresh air and want to go to the traditional market at the end of the alley to buy daily necessities.

I also walk down the narrow alley because around here it is a densely populated area.

Suddenly my ears heard the whining and shouting of two small children from inside a house that was very simple even the walls were hollow and covered with bags of cement containers.

"Mom... Is the food ripe?" ask the boy.

"Yes ma'am we're hungry from last night not to eat yet" said the other.

I was curious for some reason I suddenly felt overwhelmed by the cry of the boy, I got closer and stuck my ear on the wall of the house made of bamboo.

"Yes, I'm patient, honey, it's just about to mature" said a woman from the kitchen not far from where I was standing.

Either my ears hear wrong or I hear the woman's voice sounding beak as if it will hold her cry.

"Oh my God, if I had a motorcycle or at least a bike, I would be able to sell these vegetables in time before they go bad like this, if I could sell it somewhere far enough away at least I'd get money to buy rice and side dishes to eat my kids not like this there's only rice I can serve to them," muttered the woman in between her sobs that I could still clearly hear.

I also walked away from the place and approached someone who was watering flowers in front of his house, I wanted to ask this person about the residents of the house next door that I had heard his complaints.
