We both rested at the Bowongso camp to brew coffee. With other climbers like us. The sun was still peeking while Aji and I were still brewing a cup of hot coffee. Other climbers re-check their supplies during the hike. One of them came up to me and said “Mas is the first time to climb?” said someone sturdy with mature brown skin, and sharp eyes.
I nodded “Iya mas, I am the first time,” I replied.
“Gini mas, if climbing here do not bosses are as black as all,” he said while looking at the clothes I wear.
“Why mas?” many wonder.
“I also do not know.. Gakpapa mas if not believe but at least because we are guests respect and maintain the culture aja, mas bring another dress?”
I remember what Usy said yesterday. It's true what he said, and I feel guilty. I immediately took the clothes in the bag, fortunately I brought 1 red shirt, the habit is to make the top black bottom. I rushed to the bathroom, all shitting afraid that someone would come out.
The water here is very cold, just crazy, abis cebok it feels like my ass is frozen, maybe people here rarely snap because of the cold so frozen hehe. I abandoned my intentions because the water I thought was too cold.
“Crazy, Ji, here the water is in-“ as soon as everyone sees me. Realize because I'll say a cold word. The person who previously reprimanded me came back to me and whispered “Dhere can not say the word “cold” mas.”
“That's why,” as trying to defend themselves.
“Iya make a warning do not repeat yes mas,” he said shrill.
I'm asserting what he's asking. I think why is it so complicated there must be many rules here, besides who does not get cold as the water. Not wanting to ruin my first climb that I had failed so many times I followed. I walked towards Aji who was re-checking his supplies. I saw a lot of water he was carrying. I sat next to him and told him what I had been warned about the rules that I thought were strange to Aji. Instead, he also rebuked me and asked me to follow.
“Everything before climbing find info first before!” timpale. Well, where do I know I think also climbing just walking to the top of the mountain.
After finishing preparing from the bowongso camp we headed to the self-made parking lot where we will start the climb. Previously there were 1 thing that I think is strange is to bring coffee and coconut milk that must be brought when going up and must be taken until coming down later. Only if we have to drink it. We headed to the Swadas Park from Bowongso camp using pick ups.
On the way we met other climbers. Mas Bara his name, it turns out that the person who had reprimanded me was the head of the climbing group other than us. There are 7 people besides me and Aji who climb, they come from Yogyakarta, from the alumni of Nature Lovers one of the universities in Jogja there. We both feel happy because it turns out that this Bara caravan has 2 times climbed to Sumbing, and this is their third climb. Lucky for us, because they must have known the terrain, Aji and I just need to follow.
Before embarking on the journey, Bara led a common prayer for safety on the ascent. When we finished, and went straight to travel. From the parking lot to the Garden View the journey is not too heavy. The air was still cool, the sun was covered in dense trees. Only occasionally did we have to bow our heads as we passed the fallen tree trunk and blocked our path.
A little joke on the climb, proving that our spirit is still there. Because there were not many stops, it only took us about 1 hour and 15 minutes to get to the Viewing Garda. At the Substation we took a short rest.
I sit down put the bag that I carry, while taking drinking water “Gak feels yes already up to post 1 aja,” I said while sipping water that I hold.
“Still half way mas,” said mas Bara who turned out to have first sat behind me “Pos 1 later in Asmoro Park, mas.”
I gulped, it turned out that an hour on foot had not yet reached the first climbing post. I looked at Aji, and he turned to see me “We turned out strong yes road 1 hour,” he said with a wry smile. I know he's just entertaining himself. I nodded with a clumsy face. After 15 minutes of rest we continued our journey.
I took a deep breath and shouted, not caring even though it invited the attention of another group of climbers. Because my first climb should be memorable. The track from Gardu Pandang Park to Asmoro Park is not much different, still surrounded by trees with thick rocks and a little dusty. I don't complain much even though my legs are getting tired. Looking at the other climbers who were still joking, I knew they were sharing their energy with each other. I went with them so that my trip was not boring.
The sound of wind passing through the leaves, plus the sound of some insects accompanied our trip to the first post. Seeing Bara leading in front of me ran after him to chat together.
“Mas Bara used to be the head of his Pala-right?” ask me while greeting him.
“Iya,” the answer is short.
“Wih cool, mas Original where?”
“I'm from Blora, mas.”
“What is mas?”
He looked at me with a strange look. Okay, maybe asking ideals to people we just know is something strange.
"Is there any preparation before the hike?" askinya.
"Preparation, mas," he replied in a rather high tone.
"Oh already, bring a lot of supplies," I replied as I patted the career bag that I carried.
"Prepared is not a mass stock."
"Oh not yet, mas."
"Don't invite danger" he replied, speeding up his pace.
I try to follow him and keep talking. I know from his legs that he looks strong and sturdy like he's a trained man. Until finally I was tired of following the fast pace and I think it was enough to talk stale about half the journey and then I rejoined Aji. We reminisced about how difficult it was to get to the top first. From the parents' unapproved, because the schedule is always a collision with the time of the univ entrance exam, the time of the semester holidays are not together, because the schedule is always a collision with the time of the entrance exam, and when there was time it turned out that the climb was closed because the weather was not good.
I felt some differences from Bara and Aji. I don't know maybe because I'm not familiar with Bara mas so he just answers all my questions. Different from talkative Aji. But because of his attitude like that mas Bara so look more assertive than others.
So far the journey has been nothing difficult, climbing the mountain is not like I saw on TV where we have to climb, climb, and danger with the threat of death hit by a rock that glinds from the top of the mountain.
After about an hour we walked we reached Asmara Park the first post on our ascent. Crazy, it was 2 hours more I and Aji walked and it turned out we were strong. The supplies began to open I opened the bread that Aji and I only opened the water that he had not spent before. I saw a group of mas Bara carrying a pack of rice, and some were carrying teak leaves and banana leaves that had been cut square. They stacked the rice into 1 and ate it together. They look compact and solid when eating together. One of them saw us carrying supplies and called to join.
At first we refused, but one of them brought 2 roasted chickens that could not be spent seven. They need my belly and Aji's. We finally joined together to eat. Yeah how about instead of thinking I was at the time.
"Bring a plastic bag? Help me finish the food, yes" Pinta mas Bara to me and Aji.
Unfortunately, none of us carried plastic bags, so we only helped collect the waste from our meal. I'm so happy with this habit that his self-serve impresses me.
When we finished, we continued our journey. We rested quite a long time at the Taman Asmara post, about 2 hours we stopped because the Bara mas group stopped long enough to reunite in memory of their old trip. We were just listeners and asked a little bit just for pleasantries.
The next track is open forest. The sun began to be pealed, I saw the clock in-HP which has shown at 1 pm. It did not feel too hot because the air was not hot, seeing the sweat that began to drip on Bara mas I can conclude they began to feel tired of the trip earlier.
Mas Bara did not let him, now he changed his character into a pleasant person in his group. He looks not as firm as before, now more joking and unwittingly, it has been about 1 hour walking and in front of a very large savanna.
Not only that “See, Ka,” Aji said as she patted my shoulder.
My eyes were fixed on seeing us above. There is a beautiful seen just untouchable, we are almost there, the peak of Sindoro seen peering among the white cotton. We arrived, we reached above the clouds. Clean white clouds surrounding the vast savanna garden, I arrived, Aji and I up above the vast sea of clouds.
I smiled along with Aji who was also imprinted."If there's any more time to change we see Sumbing from Sindoro yes, Ji."
"If for example the cloud can be made to take a bath, now I want to take a bath" Aji replied.
I looked at Aji with a confused face. Maybe he was so fascinated he was confused about what to say.
I was left quite far from the Bara caravan for too long to enjoy the scenery that was unusual for us. After arriving at the Bogel post we set up a tent. Mas Bara said that if you want to peak mending tomorrow morning, around dawn abis just departed because until the peak will be dark and the view is not good.
I looked at Aji as if I could not believe that both of our ideals had been achieved. Do not forget we capture each other's moments after setting up a tent. Mas Bara set up 2 large tents that can be filled with 3 to 4 people, Aji and I set up our tents that only fit together. After satisfied photos, we gathered because we had been warned at the beginning was not allowed to start a fire, so after sunset we rested.
I saw some of the group.mas Aji there were those who carried a head flashlight, it turns out not all of them were sleeping, there were some who stood guard. It's good that they didn't ask us to take the shift because we knew we were novice climbers and let us rest.
I felt so happy, I was lying in the sleeping bag I bought. I opened my phone and before going to bed I saw the gallery of the photos. Still can not believe it turns out the sea is not just blue, there is a clean white and it is no less beautiful. My eyes were tired and I fell asleep.
“Mas-mas-mas!” my body was shaken by someone I was still half conscious trying to get up and it was Bara who woke me and Aji.
“Mas, tent frame broken, let's move to my tent immediately!”
