The Eternal Soaring Sword

The Eternal Soaring Sword
Chapter 6 - Monkey and Youth

After one night of cultivating, he still did not know how to reach the Blood Movement Realm. The sun had yet to rise high in the sky and the mountains on either side of the valley were covered in a thick white mist. The occasional breeze blew away the white mist, allowing one to see the green vegetation on the mountain. Zhao Jiuge swallowed and carefully entered the valley.

After moving forward several tens of meters, there was a stone blocking his path, forcing him to turn. Then, after arriving at the corner, his gaze opened and the scent of flowers flowed down his nose.

He checked to make sure there were no signs of the snake crawling. After doing so, Zhao Jiuge slightly relaxed and continued inside. The interior of the valley was much more open and there were flowers everywhere. The fragrance of the flowers filled the air, and Zhao Jiuge began to enjoy the valley.

Bang out! A muffled sound came from the distance and the entire valley seemed to tremble slightly. The young man immediately rushed towards the direction of the voice.

Bang, bang. The voice continued to echo, and as he approached, the muffled voice became loud. Zhao Jiuge's heart became tense.

What's going on up ahead and can be heard from this distance? Dust that was kicked into the air could be seen in the distance, and the sound became louder as small rocks fell from the mountains beside it. Zhao Jigue coughed as he was hit by a cloud of dust, and he cleared himself. He turned his head and saw a shocking sight in front of him.

He saw two figures in the middle of the empty valley. One figure was a dark brown bear with a height of about three meters. It stood up with a fierce expression and all the hairs on its body stood up. His body was covered in small scratches and there was an inch wide blood wound on his chest. The drops of blood fell to the ground as a black spiritual light shone on the bear's body, and let out a continuous growl.

Across the brown bear stood a brown monkey over two meters tall. It was staring at the brown bear. Compared to the fierce expression of the brown bear, the monkey was just as fierce as staring at the brown bear. The monkey's claws were covered in blood and one of his legs was injured. There were many scratches on the bear, and the scar on his chest had opened into a wound. In turn, the monkey was hit in the leg by the bear, making it difficult to move. The golden spiritual energy shining from the monkey body was stronger than the black spiritual energy emanating from the bear.

As the monkey shouted, Zhao Jiuge noticed that there was a smaller monkey with a lighter color behind the adult monkey. It was crouching on the ground with its hands anxiously gripping its face. His eyes were filled with fear and screeched in fear.

When Zhao Jiuge saw the situation inside the valley, his pupils shrank and his breathing became short. Bears and adult monkeys inside the valley released spirit power outside of their bodies, the mark of the Spirit Transformation Realm. The pressure from the spirit power spread here, causing Zhao Jiuge to feel tense. The sparkle around the adult monkey was stronger than that of a bear, which meant that it had reached the mid stage of the Spirit Transformation Realm.

"Reload!" The brown bear roared and both of its palms hit the head of the adult monkey. A ray of black spiritual energy shot out lightning-fast toward the adult monkey.

The left leg of the adult monkey was injured, so it could not move properly. It raised both of its palms above its head and golden spiritual energy came from its body, forming a golden curtain above its head. The black spiritual energy smashed into this golden curtain and gradually disappeared until there was nothing left. The gold curtain became dim before it broke.

When the brown bear saw that he was unsuccessful, he rushed forward a few steps before kicking into the air with his hind legs. It leaped a few meters into the air and then descended onto the adult monkeys, their claws colliding.

Rumbling rumbles echoed as the brown bear and adult monkey collided. The spiritual energy dispersed and the fluctuations of black and gold spiritual energy quickly spread out. The earth shook and more rocks fell from the two mountains on its side. Spiritual beasts were ultimately still just beasts. Although they had obtained some intelligence, all they knew was how to use violence.

Zhao Jiuge was very surprised, he was dizzy, but his heart was burning. The brilliant light and bloody battle had made Zhao Jiuge bleed hot from watching. The Spirit Transformation Realm was already this powerful. In the Spirit Core Realm, one would be able to fly, and in the Nascent Soul Realm, one would have an additional lifespan of a thousand years. One could call rain, move mountains, and fill the sea with one wave of hands.

Sad cries echoed as the brown bear and adult monkey continued to fight. Because of the smaller monkeys, the adult monkeys were disturbed and the brown bear landed a blow. Blood was everywhere.

The little monkey became more and more agitated because of this, waving his hand and crying even more. It was worried and anxious as tears formed in its eyes.

Zhao Jiuge looked at the little monkey and could not help but think about his grandfather. How similar was the situation of that little monkey compared to him? He felt empathy for the little monkey.

The two Spirit Transformation spirit beasts were in a fierce battle, so they were unaware of Zhao Jiuge, who was hiding behind a rock. However, the panicked little monkey suddenly noticed Zhao Jiuge.

It stopped moving as it looked at Zhao Jiuge with fear and pleaded with its eyes. Zhao Jiuge was always soft-hearted. Moreover, her own circumstances of not having any parents and being adopted by her grandfather made her even more compassionate. He took out the hunting knife he had.

The brown bear suddenly messed up and the claws of the adult monkey pierced the wound on the bear's chest, allowing it to take up the bear's internal organs. The bear howled in pain as it gave up defending and crashed into the head of an adult monkey. This makes the sound of watermelon split.

The adult monkey falls to the ground and expels the bear's internal organs before falling to the ground. Red blood covered the ground and the adult monkey twitched a few times. It used its final strength to look at the little monkey with aversion in its eyes before the light faded from its eyes. The last picture he saw was his son. The little monkey whimpered while attracting the adult monkey.

This scene also attracted Zhao Jiuge. Looking at a little monkey like this, he felt like he was looking at himself. He felt like his heart was being inexplicably blocked by something.

The brown bear's fur was covered in blood and there were many large and small wounds all over his body. It was like a god of death. Although the adult monkey had removed his internal organs, the bear did not die immediately. It moved step by step towards the little monkey with a sharp gaze.

At this point, Zhao Jiuge did not hesitate anymore and all the spirit power in his body started surging towards his limbs, but he could not release his spirit power to use as he wished like these two ferocious beasts.

However, seeing the brown bear run out of spirit power and one more step from death, Zhao Jiuge believed that it was no match for him. At this moment, with Zhao Jiuge's late stage Spirit Detection Realm power, although he could not release bright spiritual energy like those two beasts, it still gave him an aura. His black clothes were starting to whiten as all the washing fluttered.

He raised his hand and smashed with the knife with all his might. However, he did not cut the bear like tofu as he thought, but instead heard a muffled voice.

The knife only cut as deep as about a meter before it was stuck and his hand went numb from the counterattack. He endured the pain and pulled out his knife. He summoned the power he had when he killed Wang Daqiang and cut the brown bear's neck. The bear's claws trembled as it hit Zhao Jiuge's shoulder.

When the two collided, the brown bear suddenly fell to the ground and eventually died. Zhao Jiuge flew backwards. Blood spurted everywhere and he started rolling on the ground.

Zhao Jiuge felt his body become weak and unstable, then the world seemed to spin and he heard a ringing in his ears. Even the spirit power within his body had stopped moving for a moment, but fortunately his internal organs were not damaged.

The little monkey was originally crying while lying on his mother's body, but upon hearing that movement, it suddenly jumped to Zhao Jiuge's side. It pulled Zhao Jiuge's arm and shrieked.

Zhao Jiuge felt pain as his clothes were pulled and rubbed against his wound. When the little monkey saw that Zhao Jiuge had reacted, unlike his mother, he could only smile.

Seeing the cute little guy's eyes filled with worry made Zhao Jiuge feel warmth even though he felt pain all over his body. He had spent his childhood alone and depended on the old man for over a decade, so he had no friends at all.

The valley that seemed to fall apart after this fierce battle was the meeting place of a boy and a small monkey who had a similar fate.
