The Eternal Soaring Sword

The Eternal Soaring Sword
Chapter 16 - The Mo Family

Zhao Jiuge listened to the sound of the city, smelled the scent of wine in the air, and watched the rivers flow along the city. The sun sets westward and bathes the city in the light of sunset. The antique roof and the small bridge over the flowing river created a cozy atmosphere for Zhao Jiuge.

There were many people in Dong Yang City. Even though the sun was about to set, there were still many people on the streets. Zhao Jiuge went from stall to stall and sometimes picked up items to observe. After all, he was only a fourteen-year-old boy, so he was overwhelmed by his own childishness as this was his first time coming to a city.

Immediately, he finished walking through this path and found a strange alley where he sensed the fluctuations of spirit power. He hesitated a little before walking down this alley.

This alley was very quiet and very out of place compared to the hustle and bustle of other cities. He walked a few steps before he saw people with spirit power fluctuations in front of a stall. Not many of them, just seven or eight. One of them was in the Blood Movement Realm, while the rest were in the Spirit Detecting Realm.

As Zhao Jiuge observed them, they also observed him. They saw a young man dressed in black carrying a long sword. They looked at her somewhat childish face and were surprised to find that she also had spirit power. Despite being surprised at how young he was, they lowered their heads and continued their business.

Zhao Jiuge walked over and carefully observed the items that people had prepared at the stall. It was an ordinary spirit medicine—no one had strong spiritual energy. There were also some potions and spirit ingredients, but none of them were of interest to him. Some magic treasures were also placed, but it was not as good as the long sword he had taken.

Magic treasures were generally created by carving spirit stones on normal weapons, which would increase the absorption of spirit power and increase the power of magic treasures. Precious treasures were created with spirit materials, so they had their own unique characteristics. Looking at the items in the stall, Zhao Jiuge realized that this was a place dedicated to cultivators, but none of the items here were particularly good. Zhao Jiuge lost interest.

He could not help feeling melancholy. Even if a human was lucky enough to embark on the path of cultivation, they would never go far without a proper cultivation method. He was thinking about how a plain-clothed woman could reach the Spirit Core Realm at such a young age. Some were his talents and some were his cultivation methods. Sure enough, everyone below the Nascent Soul Realm were just ants. Zhao Jiuge suddenly felt extremely lucky, and he was looking forward to the power of the Sanskrit Heart Sutra and the Sanskrit Divine Body in the future.

He turned around and was ready to leave when he saw that at the end of the valley, there was a door guarded by two men dressed in black. The door was covered by a black curtain, and Zhao Jiuge was curious about this door that required two Blood Movement Realm cultivators to guard it. After hesitating for a bit, Zhao Jiuge walked over.

"Stop. Do you have an invitation?” The two men in black looked at Zhao Jiuge warily and looked up and down at the young man. Zhao Jiuge looked at the two men and asked in shock, “Invitation? What invitation?”

“You cannot enter without an invitation. You must be a foreign rogue cultivator. This was a business belonging to the Mo Dong Yang City family. This is not a place to mess around.” The man in black was still wary and slightly raised his voice. Even though Zhao Jiuge was young, they did not dare to be too uncontrollable. After all, he had spirit power, and the personality of a cultivator could not compare to that of a normal person.

Zhao Jiuge quietly muttered, "Mo Family." He felt that there should only be one Mo family in the city. Tomorrow, he would ask Old Mo during his visit to the Mo family. He turned around and returned to the inn.

After stretching, Zhao Jiuge exhaled a foul breath and sat on the bed. He slowly closed his eyes, his hands formed a seal for the Sanskrit Divine Body, and his breathing became smooth. As soon as Zhao Jiuge closed his eyes, ripples appeared in the quiet space around him as if a stone was thrown into a calm lake. The strands of spiritual energy were being absorbed by Zhao Jiuge.

Spiritual energy entered his body and was converted into spirit power with his cultivation method. The spirit power traveled towards his dantian to feed the golden dragon there. When the golden dragon sensed the spirit power, it opened its mouth to absorb it greedily. As time passed, the golden dragon became brighter and brighter; it became much more active as well.

After finishing with the Sanskrit Divine Body, Zhao Jiuge took out a mouthful of white gas and exited his cultivation condition. The golden dragon seemed to have eaten its contents, so he lazily curled up inside his dantian, his eyes narrowing.

Sensing the progress of his Sanskrit Divine Body, Zhao Jiuge felt extremely satisfied. Right now, he could only slowly absorb the spiritual energy to feed the golden dragon. He had to enter the Spirit Transformation Realm to cultivate the second stage of the Sanskrit Divne Body.

On the morning of the next day, a warm morning light shone through the gap in the window and a beam of white light shone through the room. The light slowly expanded and finally climbed onto the bed next to the face of the young man sitting on it.

Sensing the warmth from the outside world, the young face trembled and his closed eyes slowly opened, revealing dark and tender eyes.

Bang, bang, bang. The sound of someone knocking on the door echoed. Zhao Jiuge moved his body slightly and got off the bed. He opened the door and a blue-robed middle-aged man stood in front of him. The middle-aged man had an elegant temperament, white skin, and a pair of extremely shrewd and capable eyes. He smiled at Zhao Jiuge.

Just as Zhao Jiuge was feeling shocked by this middle-aged man, he saw old man Mo behind the middle-aged man, so now he could guess who the middle-aged man was. What surprised him was that Mo Linger was also following them.

Mo Linger had changed his appearance. His long hair was tied to a ponytail and there were two green earrings on his ears. The earrings were slightly clinked and exuded a noble aura, and the color made it seem purer. Her pants wrapped around her slender legs, making her look even more beautiful.

He was filled with vitality and a youthful aura that caused Zhao Jiuge to slightly lose himself. Of course, he had only lost himself for a moment—there was only one person in Zhao Jiuge's heart. The shadow of the person was noble, cold, beautiful, and untouchable. He felt that he had been staring at her for too long and felt ashamed.

Fortunately, the middle-aged man in blue said, “Young hero, I am the head of the Mo family, Mo Longjie. Yesterday, when Old Mo came back, he told me everything. I'm late to greet the young hero, so I came this morning to pick you up to stay at my place. How about I call you 'Jiuge?'” The middle-aged man showed his gratitude, and his temperament made Zhao Jiuge feel close to him.

“The Mo Family Head is too polite. I only wanted to explore Dong Yang City alone because this was my first time here, so I refused Old Mo's repeated invitation. ” Zhao Jiuge's face becomes slightly red. After all, this was his first time dealing with something like this. The other party was very polite and overall gave people a very friendly feeling.

“Haha, Jiuge, don't call me 'Head of the Mo Family', it's a strange name. If you don't mind, call me 'Uncle Mo.'” The middle-aged man looked extremely happy and the corner of his mouth curved as he looked towards Zhao Jiuge.

Zhao Jiuge struggled with a smile and whispered, "Uncle Mo". After the middle-aged man heard this, he became happier and grabbed onto Zhao Jiuge's shoulder. "Jiuge, ah, I heard about your situation from Old Mo. Since you have no family and you are willing to call me 'Uncle Mo.' then from now on, Mo's mansion is your home. As for the matter with the Xiao family, your Uncle Mo will handle it, so you have nothing to fear. ” The middle-aged man observed Zhao Jiuge closely. From his initial contact with this young man and from what he heard from Old Mo, this young man's character was quite good. After observing him a little longer in the mansion, if this young man really had a good character, then he would accept this young man.

Although Zhao Jiuge had never left the mountain village, it did not mean that he understood nothing about human relations. Hearing the middle-aged man's intent, he quickly accepted it and called the middle-aged man "Uncle Mo" to thank him.

From start to finish, Old Mo stood behind the middle-aged man and did not speak a word, but his wrinkled face showed a friendly smile. Mo Linger did not dare to say a word due to his father's presence, and it was only after he heard that Zhao Jiuge had agreed to come to his house that he jumped in excitement.

Mo Longjie looked at Mo Linger and only then did he stop. She stuck out her little tongue like a child who had made a mistake and looked very cute.

A group of people smiled and laughed as they walked out of the inn. The sun had risen into the sky and the city looked more prosperous and noisy than yesterday at sunset.
