The Dusk of the Middle East

The Dusk of the Middle East
Episode 14

At that time, the city of Labuan was indeed filled with freedom fighters. If in other places the resistance began to decrease, in this city almost every month guerrillas invaded the Japanese army.

And this morning, in an unexpected moment of invaders. The twelve freedom fighters were standing valiantly storming the Labuan market, one of them having just thrown a pile of grenades out of nowhere.

A Japanese soldier who survived the blast, in a dusty uniform, bloody face, crawled around trying to suppress the siren. Just when his knob was pressed, the sound of emergency sirens roaring filled the ceiling of the Labuan city market, his voice deafening.

Robin and Robert, who were sitting in front of the store because they heard a bang, immediately trembled when they heard the siren. Their faces were pale, never both of them experienced something like this because they were always guarded tightly by both parents.

Robert had not thought about what to do. The sound of a barrage of gunfire caused a huge panic to engulf the entire market. Visitors were clamoring, running away from the market gates.

People pushed each other, stepped on each other until something fell into the trench.

"ROBERT!!!" Robin shouted frantically calling her brother who was only about two meters away from her.

But Robert was already pushed forward, dragged by the many other visitors.

While Mang jajan still trying to survive in the place trying to find where the masters.

"MANG JAJAN" Robin called out in a raucous voice. He started to panic, scared. It carried a large pouch, so it could not move between the many humans. He thought maybe it was far away.

Robert shouted a dozen meters from Robin. The boy's nearly teenage body was sandwiched between dozens of adults.

Mang jajan finally can see to his two masters, but now he must choose between having to voice Robert or Robin.

The sound of the gun was getting more and more heard. The situation is getting worse.

"BUTTER!!"

One big explosion was heard again. The freedom fighters have released the next grenade

Robin had fallen in the market aisle, just to stand up he was no longer strong. His body slammed, rolled while still hugging the plastic. While behind him dozens of feet ready to step on his small body.

Mang Jajan shouted in panic. He could not see where his youngest master was, the corner of his eyes could only see Robert who was five meters away from him.

Mang Jajan immediately scumbags close to Robert, at least he must take Mr. Robert to a safe place. Robert's condition looks terrible, probably because long held on to the power pole in the padati by many people.

Robin was still on the ground. There was nothing else he could do, he could not stand up at all. And people are still pushing it. He closed his eyes, resigned. It was only a matter of time until the panicked running legs stepped on his small body.

Mei from the boat was worried. His face was pale, his eyes were red after crying a lot. He was so sorry, why wasn't he the only one who went with Robin and Robert.

From the deck of the ship. He could clearly see a plume of smoke from a distance, the remnants of the incident this morning. Japanese army post in Labuan market burned, smashed. Some shops also burned.

The battle between freedom fighters and the Japanese army was fierce for hours, until finally the Japanese soldiers managed to beat back the rebels.

"Don't stop praying Lady. May your sister be safe." Lucas tried to cheer up.

Mei can only nod slowly.

This morning when I heard the news of a revolt in the market. Panicked and hurried, Mei went straight to the scene. But the bitter reality must be obtained when only found Mang Jajan and Robert.

Robert though not crying, his face pias, dirty body, down to one of the houses.

May rushes to the market looking for Robin. He is not alone, but accompanied by three Japanese soldiers from his brother Sergeant Heiho. But in search of ability, Robin can not be found.

People were still running around to save themselves, at the clothing store that he said was the last place Robin shopped nor was he there.

After searching for nearly an hour, Mei decides to take Robert back to the ship. He talks to Captain Diego asking for help to get the four crew members back to the market to find Robin.

The entire city of Labuan has been tense since the attack. Dozens of Japanese army cars were on patrol, people were checked. Checks in all parts are tightened. Tram stop operating. Bicycles, cars, horse carriages are prohibited from passing.

When May returned to the market with four crew members. At first he was refused entry by the Japanese soldiers, thankfully to the three Japanese soldiers Sergeant Heiho's men followed them from behind. The three men explained to their fellow Japanese, until they were finally allowed to enter.

Some bodies lying in the street. Anxiety immediately struck Mei, what if one of the bodies was Robin?

Two hours of check, assisted by four Japanese crew and soldiers. Robin remains unaccountable among the fatalities.

Mei was forced to return to the ship when it was almost night. Bi Siti who had been waiting anxiously, immediately cried hysterically to see Nonanya back alone without her youngest master.

"I'm sorry miss for not being able to look after Mr. Robin." Mang Jajan lowered his head in regret.

"It's okay, Mang. What happened was not your fault, no one knew that there would be a revolt at the market this morning." Mei whispered softly. He's resigned

It's been almost eight hours and there's still no word on where Robin is. Soon after the Maghrib, the sky began to darken. If Robin survives, what can his little brother do now?

The Japanese army in Labuan has announced a curfew, people are forbidden to wander.

"You don't want to wait in the cabin, Lady? It's getting cold out here."

Mei shakes. He will remain on the deck of the ship, waiting.

That was when Mi almost lost hope. From the silent port gate, a person was seen walking while carrying a small child on his back.

The crew who saw it, exclaimed, pointed, making the passengers look down.

There, with a limping path. Saleh, the young man came with Robin on his shoulder.
