The Demon King's heir

The Demon King's heir
CHAPTRE. 56 - GO II

Luu Houyi stood in front of Rui's tomb which was again covered by the petals of the tabebuya flower scattering to the ground. He fell silent, looking at the wood that was there. Every now and then, he caught the petals of a flower that fell on his head. Not long after, he sat on his knees in front of him.

”I broke my promise. I may not deserve a single student. I failed to protect everyone. I'm desperate. I can't take it anymore!” murmured Luu Houyi while looking down and clutching his own head with both hands.

”Did Master give up?” said a voice that was very similar to Rui's voice in her ears.

Luu Houyi directly raised his head. He felt very surprised after seeing the existence of Rui who was sitting in front of him while showing his childish smile like when he was alive. Luu Houyi had thought that this was all an illusion. But, after he touched Rui's face, everything seemed real.

”Rui? How did you get here?” asked Luu Houyi who was still very surprised.

Rui laughs. The face of this young man always reminded Luu Houyi of his youth. Black hair with both eyes purple, making him remember the face of his Son who had to die when he was 12 months old along with his wife after their horse carriage mired in the ravine.

”I'm always here. I can see Master coming every day to visit my grave and train your two new disciples. I can also hear the sadness that Master is experiencing right now.” replied Rui. ”... Teacher just lost your student, right? Master felt very sad for not being able to protect him and hesitated to kill the demon that was going to kill him. Uh! Maybe more precisely he was his own father. It's very sad, yes. Father killed his own son and raised him to the Devil.”

”Then, what should I do now?” luu Houyi asked as he lowered his head in despair and almost gave up.

Rui touched Luu Houyi's shoulder. Still with the same expression, Rui said, ”... Why not go with me? I can make Master forget all that. Master can definitely do it.” he said as he put the dagger in Luu Houyi's right hand and did not stop staring at him.

Luu Houyi was silent in doubt. The dagger that was already in his right hand was silent, doing nothing. Rui helped by holding her right hand and moving it without hesitation. To be exact, he pointed it at Luu Houyi's neck so that he would slit his own throat. ”... Master must go and forget all this.” said Rui ended with a grin before finally he managed to slit Luu Houyi's throat until blood splattered around his tomb.

It wasn't until a minute, the people who saw him do that would probably think that Luu Houyi had already killed himself. His body fell right in front of the grave of his own disciple.

At the same time, Shin Buyen sat on the brink while bending his knees miserably. The wind was blowing quite fiercely but, he had never felt it. His feelings are falling apart. It had been a month but he could never forget it. The events that took his son's life and the words that made him feel betrayed.

He felt stupid because he was used.

Why didn't I die a long time ago, along with my own family? Why do I have to survive until now? Everything's turning dark. Is this my punishment for killing hundreds of innocent lives?

”It wasn't even me who gave it. Seeing and hearing his name alone, made me remember the incident yesterday.”

As Shin Buyen turned back to the brink of the abyss, his face seemed shocked as soon as he saw the whereabouts of Luo Hein who was standing there. And even more amusing, Luo Hein was smiling kindly as if nothing had happened before.

”How dare you show me that face!” snapped Shin Buyen who immediately looked very angry. He took out a dagger from his left pocket then dashed towards Luo Hein and pierced his right chest. But, strangely Luo Hein did not put up any resistance at all let alone to dodge the attack that Shin Buyen had made on him.

As a result, Luo Hein became bloody after Shin Buyen stabbed his body repeatedly. Shin Buyen felt astonished that Luo Hein was just silently sculpting like a pile of rice spilled from being stabbed repeatedly.

”Why not fight?! Is this a trap?” ask Shin Buyen.

Luo Hein chuckled. He held onto the wound on his right chest and replied, ”I did it on purpose. I thought you were angry and wanted to take it all out on me.” she replied as she spread out her hands and smiled at him. ”... Do as you please. You want to kill me, torture me or cut me off one by one, go ahead. I'll bear it all for you.”

Shin Buyen was very surprised. He was silent while gripping his knife very firmly. He bit his lips until they bled and he involuntarily cried as he remembered his past. ”Why did you have to kill Yixuan? What mistake? He's still your son and my son. Why do you have to do it?!” asked Shin Buyen with a snarl.

Luo Hein was silent. He turned his attention to the ground and his steps slowly approached him. His blood was still dripping, making a trail that anyone could see. ”... I can't tell you why. I just want you to understand. There must be a barrier between the demon realm and the human realm and become a protector for the mortal realm of man. Xuan'er, has done something right for me and for everyone.” he said while hugging Shin Buyen when the two were already at a fairly close distance.

Shin Buyen was silent while lowering her head. He held his dagger very firmly. Shortly after, he dropped it on the ground. ”... Why should he? Why not the others?” tanyakanya.

”Because he's different. I expected it from the beginning. His soul is not stained by evil. Everything will be fine as long as he is my successor.” Luo Hein replied slowly.

”You're a real villain!” said Shin Buyen while holding onto Luo Hein's back firmly. After which, his steps walked backwards to the brink and pulled Luo Hein along with him. A few seconds later, the two fell to the bottom of the ravine and left only a dagger and a trail of blood in the place.

In the meantime, in his present home. Shin Furong was waiting for them all to return at the same place even until the afternoon picked him up. He kept staring at the three of them. ”... When will Uncle Luu and Mom be back?” muttered Shin Furong who kept waiting.
