CHAPTER 23: HELL OF THE 8TH LAYER
When the door opened, a high temperature wind came in violently. A rumbling sound was heard clearly until it entered into the passageway gap. When they came out, Asmothia. They were all at the end of the bridge that was located above the ravine, inside it was so dark and filled with burning flames. The dark sky was covered by the low-hanging black clouds, emitting a fiery red glow that strengthened the gripping atmosphere. In the middle of the gorge, there was a flowing lava river. The lava released unimaginably high temperatures, and became a symbol of continued torture for the spirits who were there. Fire and smoke soared high, creating a rumbling sound that shook the entire place. Azazel's servant touched the bridge, a flash of light appeared at the end of the bridge.
The bridge extends far ahead of them, over cliffs and ravines.
“ Follow me “ said the waiter.
They followed him while looking around. As As Asmothia stepped across the bridge that towered over the cliffs and ravines, a frightening sight unfolded before her. Under them, there was another bridge that stretched along the road with robed humans lined up. Some of them carried sharp weapons, while others held fiery lanterns. Meanwhile, on the other side of the bridge, there is another bridge that is very narrow, only measuring one meter wide. On top of the narrow bridge, rows of chain-bound humans were seen walking with difficulty. They stepped on a path that was given a layer of charcoal that was still burning. However, out of all the humans that walked, one of them fell into the abyss of fire. Frost holding Asmothia's hand walked, while Hefei walked ahead. As it passed over the cliff, the atmosphere became clearer about human suffering. In the sight of fire, man is seen in infinite suffering. They were caught in a blaze that never went out, burning incessantly. Their bodies were encased in ashes and blackened skin. Along the ravine, there were torture devices used to torture them. They were tied to long chains and subjected to various extreme tortures. The sounds of screams and cries full of agony filled the air. The humans cried out for mercy, but their voices were caught in the depths of the abyss of fire, never to be heard by anyone but themselves.
Azazel's servant said to Asmothia, "Crown Princess, this might be your first visit to this place. Here, everything was different from the palace of King Hellbert. No happiness, joy, or love is found here. There is only sorrow, suffering, and infinite pain. In this layer, there are eight eternal torments that torment. Do you want further explanation, Crown Princess? "
“ Sooner or later, I will be inspection here as Dad's representative. Tell me briefly “ replied Asmothia.
" This world seems to be a prison for humans" Asmothia said.
Azazel's servant saluted by bowing his body. " You're right, Crown Princess. Only the unelected are banished here "
They continue their journey, crossing an increasingly extreme and deadly atmosphere. Every step of their way across the abyss of fire was filled with endless suffering. In the distance, there was a magnificent palace standing tall in the middle of the sea of blood. Azazel's servant stopped his steps, however,
" That's our destination! "
As they continued on, the servant explained that each drop of blood flowing on the surface of the sea represented the life of a creature that had ended in battle. The sea of blood seemed to darken and was fresh blood, not long after the rain fell. The drops of blood falling from the sky fused with the rolling waves. The smell of iron and death was strongly smelled in the air, creating a gripping atmosphere. The palace that loomed in the middle of the sea of blood was emitting an aura of power. Its walls were made of black stone that seemed to absorb the rays from the sky, creating a dark shadow that surrounded the building. The shape is magnificent and decorated with carved devil symbols and Gargoyle statue in the corner of the wall. The walls of the palace were surrounded by surging blood water, creating the effect of the pounding waves crashing against the wall. The grunts of waves hitting the wall caused a rumble that sounded like the groans of a persecuted soul. The palace gate was wide open. They finally arrived in front of the gate, the scene that greeted him was the intimidating line of Gargoyle statues located to the right of the gate. Each Gargoyle statue has a creepy shape. They had large, muscular bodies with wide wings that towered high above their heads. Their skin looks dull and covered with scratches that give the impression of age and wear. Their eyes were made of stone and looked at Asmothia along with all that was with her, as if watching every move made by anyone approaching the gate. Each Gargoyle holds a different position, some standing with their mouths open and their teeth sharp, while others have a defensive stance with sharp claws running across their chest. The expressions of their faces were engraved in detail, displaying the cries of anger that flashed across their faces.
