66. One More Reality

Finally Daniel stops his car in front of a small house that little Mia recognizes. And his eyes were round when he saw the man he hated so much coming out the door of the house. Yes he just remembered that it was the house they once lived in. A house that never gives warmth and happiness.

"Why did you bring us here?!" mia jolted, her eyes were already flushed red considering the pain they had experienced once.

"Calm down, let's go down first and we'll talk inside." Daniel knew it would be like this, mama Emma had told him that Mia did not want to see her father again.

"Take us home now!" Mia brushed Daniel's hand off.

"What's this brother, have we arrived." Felice awoke when she heard her brother's loud voice. But why is her brother angry? He looked out and saw the old man in the yard they had lived in.

That's Papah.. Isn't this our home? It's only fitting that Mia's sister is angry, she hates that man so much. But why did sister-in-law even bring us here and it seems like mom knows too. What this means mama told me to come along, so that I would persuade sister Mia to want to meet papah.

"Let me explain inside the house, let's go down first. Believe me, I know your past too. Let's fix it and we ask for your blessing" said Daniel, who tried to persuade Mia.

"No need, papah we're dead. No need to ask anyone for their blessing. If you don't want to take us back, we can go home by ourselves." Mia could not and did not want to meet the man.

"Felice, let's go home" he asked his sister.

"Wait for Brother, we should listen to brother-in-law's explanation first. We haven't seen him in a long time, either, look at his old, unkempt face." Since then Felice noticed her papa face that looked not okay.

"Furname!! Did you forget what he did to us. You are sick like that because of who? I don't want to see her again, papah is no more."

"Hurry and open the door, sir, I have never taken care of your business but why should you go so far only for this responsible marriage. It's better that our marriage doesn't have to go on!"

Daniel's eyes were round hearing Mia's words, their marriage was only a few days away and he wanted to cancel.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interfere in your affairs. I just want to invite you to ask for his blessing because our marriage is not a joke, let us meet him just this once. After this if you want to cancel our marriage, I won't stop it anymore." Daniel looked at Mia's face.

"Come brother, we'll see papah." Felice took me.

Mia fell silent, weighing what she was going to do next. If he meets the man, he feels directly emotional. Can't help but run amok. There are too many bad memories that the man made of them, especially the mother who can only cry every day.

"What's this?" ask Mia. He was suddenly afraid to open the envelope.

Mia's hand shook, the same feeling when opening the results of her medical examination. His heart was pounding faster, his heart ached just like when he thought of his gravely ill mother. But why is the feeling the same, what is it really.

Slowly Mia opened the envelope, her hand taking out the white paper inside. He read well the writing there. There's his papa's name there, Willy Brown. And the results of an examination that states the patient has spinal cord cancer stage four.

"This..," Mia shook her head in disbelief at what she read. How could his papa who always looked fresh fit suffer from such a disease. "It must be a lie, right? You manipulated this check so I could see him." Mia still can't believe it. No, he hates that guy but why when he finds out that fact it hurts so much.

Felice who did not see clearly also snatched the paper from her brother's hand. Not much different reaction, Felice even cried after.

Daniel did not mean to make the brothers sad. But if he doesn't show the results of the examination, he's worried that Mia won't want to see his papa.

"I'm sorry I disappointed you with the results of the examination. But that's the fact, the man is now in pain every day alone in the house."

Daniel begins to tell the beginning of his discovery of Mia's father.

So the last few days Daniel's been trying to figure out all about Mia. Including who his father is. And finally he asked Emma, the woman told him about her past. After that Daniel asked permission to meet the man who is Mia's real father to ask for his blessing and Emma also allowed it.

Daniel begins to tell people to look for the whereabouts of the man named Willy. Emma says she lives in their old house. After searching for information and telling people to check it turned out to be true that the man was still living there.

But something was strange, said his men. Not that Emma said her husband likes to get drunk, play gambling and have fun. But according to residents after the departure of his wife and children, Willy stayed at home, rarely going out. Only occasionally came out to sell the produce of the garden he planted in his yard.

Then Daniel decided to meet him the next day.

When I first saw the middle-aged man, it didn't look okay. His face was pale, his body was powerless, and he wore thick clothes during the scorching weather. Daniel guessed that guy was sick.

Willy greeted Daniel kindly, very different from what Emma had told him. They chatted a lot until Daniel finally said that his goal was to ask for blessing.

"Is Mia really getting married? With you, sir?"

His eyes glazed over the happy thing, but Daniel had already prepared a check because he thought the man was crazy about money like Emma was talking about. Daniel intends to give the man a large amount of money so as not to disturb Mia and the family again.
