THE BOSSES

THE BOSSES
Chapter 9's

"There is a lack of food, right? To the point that you bought it outside?"

A cold man's voice shocked Anna. The mouth that was ready to bite the chicken thigh closed back. Slowly he looked to his left side. Jeffrey, the Boss is standing with Mark in his cradle.

"L-anu.." Anna tried to explain, but instead stammered awkwardly.

"Anu what anu?"

"That's why I didn't buy it. I-this is from a friend when he came home" said Anna.

"Is that?" ask Jeffrey.

Anna nodded quickly, "Yes, sir".

Mark's moving down from Jeffrey's sling. Then we approached Anna.

"What did Anna eat?" ask Mark.

"O-oh this is fried chicken" Anna replied.

"Malk want a dongg. Can't you?"

Anna looked at Jeffrey who was silently watching them. "E-euh, Master what do I mean Young Master can eat fried chicken?" ask Anna slowly.

His voice was very small but could still be heard by Jeffrey's ears. It's obvious that Anna is a little scared of Jeffrey.

"No"

Anna gasped for that super cold answer. Mark looked at his father. Prepare with his mainstay gaze that makes his wish can be fulfilled.

"Not if fried chicken is poisonous" Jeffrey continued.

"Where can it be poisonous?!" Anna suddenly barked.

"We won't know if you haven't tried it, Ann. Who knows, right? I just don't want my son to be wretched"

It sucks, Anna grumbled in her heart.

"It's cold, but it can't be poisonous sir" Anna said.

"Try it" said Jeffrey.

Anna opened her mouth wide and then bit the fried chicken thigh that she had been holding. Chew quickly and swallow it.

"See? Is this poisonous?" ask Anna.

"We wait 5 to 10 minutes"

"Lamaaa Papaa ish" annoyed Mark. The fried chicken looks delicious. Mark can't wait to eat it too.

"Oh sir, this is just fried chicken"

"Yes I know" said Jeffrey.

"If you know"

"Why is Papa so long?" mark said cut Anna's conversation. "Come on.. Papaa can yaaaa".

Mark looked at his father with a super-glutinous look. Makes the kid look cute. Come onl.. Jeffrey was very weak with that look.

"Yes..but don't eat too much Mark, okay?"

"Okey Papaaa, thank you" Mark was delighted to be allowed to eat fried chicken by Jeffrey.

"Here" said Anna, pulling Mark's hand. The girl sat Mark's body on his lap. Then put the box of fried chicken on Mark's thigh.

"Where would Mark eat, hum?" ask Anna.

"That's a lot of meat" Mark said.

"Huum. then the thighs only yes.." Mark nodded.

"Would you eat alone or in a bribe?"

"You're on Anna's sister's bribe" Mark said.

"Alright" Anna picked up a new piece of thigh after putting down the part of the thigh she had eaten. Pinched his flesh slightly until it slipped from his bones.

"Aaaaa.." said Anna asking Mark as if opening her mouth.

"Aaam" Mark made such a sound when he managed to devour the chicken meat that Anna pointed at his mouth.

The boy chewed the chicken with joy. His eyes were slightly curved like he was smiling.

Jeffrey watched Mark in silence. The man sighed. Actually Jeffrey does not want his son's stomach filled with foods not clear but want how else? Mark's wish should be able to be fulfilled in any way.

Looky. Mark was engrossed in Anna's bribe. Even the boy asked for it himself. Mark occasionally smiled while in Anna's bribe. While chewing, the child's eyes look very happy.

And somehow seeing Anna and Mark, made her heart warm. Mark has never been that close to someone he just met. Joe though. Mark has known Joe since he was born.

Dizzied with his own thoughts, Jeffrey chooses to leave Mark and Anna on the back porch of the house.

"Umm. that's delicious. Malk so want again" Mark said when the fried chicken in the box was over they ate.

"Mark wants some more?" ask Anna.

Mark nodded with excitement.

"Next Anna, make it, but not now"

"Benel.. Promise?"

"Yes Mark.. Sister promise. But then okay?"

"Gee!"

...----------------...

2 weeks later~

Anna is getting closer to Mark. Every day Anderson's house was filled with Mark's laughter. Like reviving the atmosphere of a house that has always been quiet for a long time.

As of now, Mark and Anna are playing a guessing picture of an animal in the living room. If true, Mark would get one bite of Anna's fried chicken. The girl kept her promise to Mark.

"What is this picture?" Anna shows Mark a giraffe card.

"Eungg... What is it?" Mark cupped his chin with both hands. Think in a cute way.

"Hayoo... what try?"

"Malk hasn't seen this beast yet"

"Come on. guess what. One. two. three.."

Mark thought hard. He looked at Anna as he pressed his lips forward, annoyed at not finding the answer. Mark shook his head in surrender unable to answer.

"Haha.this is Mark's giraffe. You're just gonna see it on television or at the zoo"

"Animal garden?"

Anna nodded. "Yes the zoo. Mark knows not?" ask Anna.

Mark shook his head, "No. What'sthat?"

"The animal garden is a tourist spot.. There are so many animals. I worked there" Anna said.

"Is there a net?" ask Mark.

"Gee! Of course there are, there are elephants there are lions there are monkeys and there are many more animals" Anna said.

Mark watched Anna with a sparkling look. "It's nice in there, huh, sister?"

"Hum, a lot of people come there every day"

"Malk wants to go to the zoo"

"What's? Not Mark" Anna said. Maybe he could take Mark to the zoo.

"Why? Malk will ask Papa to take Malk to the zoo" Mark said.

"Papa's working baby" Anna said. Mark wants to go there because of it. He knew Jeffrey was busy.

"Papa can play with Malk. Papa would have wanted to" he said. "Let's call Papa".

"Now Mark?" ask Anna.

"Houng!" mark said while nodding.

Anna pulled out her phone. He opened up his phone contact but then realized he didn't have Jeffrey's phone number.

"Well, you don't have your Papa Mark's phone number" Anna said.

"Bibii Joeeeee" cried Mark blabbering for a moment when he found out Anna couldn't call her Papa.

Joe's coming. He knew what Mark meant when he called him at lunchtime like this. Joe pulled out his phone and called Jeffrey. He gave Mark his phone when Jeffrey picked up his phone.

"Grad-hall"

"PAPAA MALK WANTS TO GO TO THE ZOO" cried Mark happily. Even his father had not finished saying the initial greeting of the phone call.
