CHAPTER 2, KYAI AGENG BANYU URIP

A shadow figure seems to flash very quickly like a ghost through the thick Ketonggo Alas which is considered haunted by the people around Sekar Jati Village because there are still many wild animals and is believed to be the nesting place of jinn a savage pervade.

After a day of running, the figure arrived at the end of the pedestal. Visible green plains with lakes and beautiful scenery and hills lined up as if to be a natural fortress for the plains behind Ketonggo Alas.

Kyai Ageng Banyu Urip is one of the best friends of Ki Ageng Sekarjati.

In his youth, they together studied religion with Kyai Usman Singodipuro, a wise and highly educated both in the religious and kanuragan in his residence in the Demak area.

After several years of studying, Kyai Ageng Sekarjati was called home to replace his father as regent of Sekarjati village.

After Kyai Usman Singodipuro seda, Kyai Ageng Banyu Urip left the residence and lived secluded next to Ketonggo Alas.

Ki Ageng Sekarjati's son was named Danang Hadikusumo, while the other child was named Bagas Laksono who was 3 years older than Danang. Kyai Ageng Banyu Urip found Bagas in the town of Pati Duchy in a state of unconsciousness on the side of the road near the market without anyone caring about this child.

Due to his high sense of humanity, Kyai Ageng took the child for care at his Banyu Urip residence.

Every night Kyai Ageng always tells a variety of fairy tales for the two children, ranging from the play Rama Vijaya, Mahabarata, Bharata Yudha, and others, and others with the aim that the noble values contained in the play are absorbed into the hearts of the two children.

Bagas who have strong wills are very diligent in practicing, especially for body building and canoeing.

Three years later, Danang began to be taught the same thing, only what made Kyai Ageng surprised was Danang's ability to absorb everything that was taught.

Every morning after the prayer, Kyai Ageng poured a type of oil mixed with various herbs for bone formation in the two children, followed by body processing exercises, continued the body, then teach and read the books in the afternoon, and practice at night.

“Romo has prepared everything, you can harvest corn, yam and kettle in the garden, pick up eggs, cut pet chickens, or fish in the lake for food supplies for you.” Kyai Ageng.

“Bagas, take care of your sister. And Danang, come to your feet. Do not leave the things that Romo taught so far.” message Kyai Ageng.
