Sword Training (4)

--- The next morning----

"And the funny thing is, Veskal is now tied up and hung upside down by Oberon on the branch of a tree. While the Moon Elf was sent back to her home and will face special training this morning" Remina finished her story

"Pity. I'm so sorry he can't sleep comfortably" Verdea said

"I'm not sure you feel sorry"

"Of course I pity! Although I still want to see Veskal hanging upside down..."

Remina sighed because Verdea was behaving as usual again

"Also, why can you avoid punishment for passing through the night?" Verdea asked

"I managed to defeat the teacher's clone, and Oberon thought that I deserved the prize"

"Ughs. That guy's being stingy and cheap again"

"Because I broke the rules. I'm sure he won't be tolerant if the offender is you though"

"Ughs... Why do you have to be right...?"

Fair is fair. Remina also understood why I gave the rule, which was 'night time'

"My body feels sick right now because of too much training last night..."

"Hmphs. He never makes a mistake in giving the rules. If you practice like that and the next battle, you won't be in ideal shape"

"Also I have to practice against the teacher... He's not holding back, is he...?"

"Well, you have a point"

Verdea let out a nosy laugh at that, and Remina knew that the man was waiting for his defeat

"I'll only laugh at you if you lose 20 more times, so just calm down~"

"You said as if I could just win"

"That's why I'd be so happy if you could! I-i!"

...

Verdea spontaneously stopped and turned her face the other way. Swiped her neck inexplicably, until Remina also sighed in anger

He's upset because he knows what Verdea wants to say. He hoped Verdea would finish her sentence, but instead, she stopped without any continuation

Remina tried to quell her anger by playing her hair, and they kept doing the same thing while occasionally glancing at each other

The atmosphere between the two was silent, only filled with faint sounds from a distance—from the young moon Elves who were training with Zaphir

— Until, Edwin arrived to the training area and caught the attention of the two children in an instant

Not only him, I also arrived there following him. Remina spontaneously got up from where she sat to greet me, but instantly refined her intentions with just a palm that I raised

"Vain's? Why are you here?" Verdea asked as she crossed her chest

"An affair. Mainly because I wanted to ask about something to Remina"

Honestly, it's not that important

"Your father doesn't have a problem you practice swords, does he?"

Remina looked puzzled by the question, tilting her head with a big question mark

"If he doesn't let me Oberon, I won't be out training last night" he later said

Ah, so...

It seems Airus has also started to recognize his daughter's talent. He looks like he's out of hand, but it would be more appropriate if we said he couldn't hold Remina and her growing talent

"My father wanted to see me as a leader. Although he sometimes looks sad whenever I talk about it on the dinner table"

...

It reminds me that Remina rarely talks to her father now about anything other than her future business

...

Huh...

"We'll talk about this next time. We'd better watch this sword practice first" I said

And comfortably, I first took a sitting position on the root of a tree that provided itself for me

"You have plenty of time too apparently. I think Miralius' defense and Black Hunt's preparations are still unfinished"

"There are a lot of people who can handle it. If they can't, one of the higher-ups will definitely look for me"

And I purposely left traces of Mana around here. If they want to find me, go ahead. I'll understand if they're having trouble with something

Verdea nodded in pleasure that she would not watch alone. We both sat on the roots of the thick tree, while Remina and Edwin began to agree with each other to begin their practice

"You know the basics of swords, don't you? Still decided to use the same sword?" Edwin took the time to ask while walking to his position

"Yes. I don't think this sword suits me. But my heart started to say something else" Remina did too

Remina's smile widened. And with confidence, he continued his unresolved sentence

"My heart says, what if I alone equate myself to match this sword"

His words amazed me and Verdea to a soft clap. Edwin also looked pleased, starting to laugh a little listening to his student

"That thought is not wrong. But sometimes, letting the sword control you is the wrong choice" Edwin said

"You're wrong, teacher. I'm not talking like this to make sure I'm controlled by this sword"

"Hmmm...."

A final smile is shown by Edwin, before he-she

*SAT!!*

-- Moving forward and surprising Remina by being right in front of her face

He mercilessly moved the sharp part of his sword to split Remina into two halves. But his disciple immediately retaliated by turning himself and the sword he was holding into water, completely dodging the attack

Remina jumped out of her puddle, replying to Edwin by making the same, but faster, swing move. As a result, Edwin also hit back

Oof...

Another inch, and he could hurt Edwin's face. He was just lacking fast, probably because the sword was too heavy for him

"It seems Remina still felt the weight of the sword..." Verdea commented

"That's a problem?" I asked

"Unfortunately yeah. For the knights, the sword was part of their body. And no part of the body should burden or hinder their owners right?"

Ah...!

That's an interesting perception in seeing a weapon. It seemed like knights like Edwin were quite experienced people using his weapons

I mean, I do have a stick as a holy weapon. But I rarely use it because of the power that it has

A single blow could create a gigantic earth wall that resembled a mountain range. That is why I prefer to use my hands or feet only, because they are even enough to****** my opponent

Remina and Edwin began to move around, but still away and facing each other. Both of them looked like a lion and a tiger fighting for an area of power. Even the look in their eyes looked as if they were ready to tear each other's necks apart

"One night and you can launch a counterattack that leaves me almost overwhelmed" Edwin said

"I'm also training. There was no way I would let myself be defeated so severely anymore" Remina retorted

"What's he talking about?" I asked Verdea

"On yesterday. Remina had always been defeated without being able to repulse Edwin"

Really? Doesn't that mean he just made a pretty big achievement?

Hm... I enjoyed this little exercise...

"Your physique has been strong from the beginning, and I know it. But the only problem is that you still have to adjust to the world of swords"

"So how did it go? I tried to fit in all night. Veskal and Oberon could be witnesses"

Edwin chuckled in the middle of their conversation

And without a doubt, he darted forward until Remina immediately put up a defensive position. Both of their swords instantly clashed and splashed flames that were quite visible to us watching. Remina tried with all her might to hold the object in order not to penetrate her defenses, the opposite of Edwin who seemed to push

"I have to say, if the results are quite extraordinary" Edwin also replied to Remina's question

The girl smiled wryly as she still felt cornered. Even so, he still took the time to give a word, "Thank you", before pushing Edwin back again by swinging with all his might

Edwin who had not had time to land was immediately startled by Remina who turned into a puddle of water and crept quickly towards him. When she landed, Remina jumped out again

But the attack was instantly evaded by moving to the side and shocking Remina. A vertical swing was he did all he could to bring down Remina, but the girl still did the same trick— turned herself into water so that Edwin's sword could only move through her body

Remina tried her hardest to twist her body by using her sword that was stuck to the ground as a pedestal. The power he gathered at his feet, and he directed it right at Edwin

Panicked, Edwin immediately repelled the attack with his arm so that his face would not be exposed. And he succeeded, although once again had to take a backward blow

He quickly thrust his sword into the ground and he grabbed onto Remina's legs which still had their original form. Not yet surprised, Remina first slammed to the ground by Edwin so he lost focus for a moment

Edwin swung Remina to the other side of the training ground, before he took his sword back and moved as fast as he could towards Remina

Focus finally returned to him. Remina by forcing herself immediately turned into water and cancelled the Edwin attack that had just been swung

He forced Edwin to stop and take a step back. Edwin understood that if he went forward, Remina would get what she wanted

On the other hand, Remina clicked angrily as she turned back to her original form, as Edwin did not come close enough for her to strike back

"You're slippery, too, huh...?" Edwin commented

"I can say the same to you, teacher..." Remina replied

The two started moving around each other again

But this time...

Both seem more serious
