The Arabic Teacher
Sacrifice

Ms Rahma could no longer bid after her husband gave her permission on the condition that she would make sure that her son was okay until his destination.

Vita had difficulty closing her eyes so happy, she continued to imagine how Ustadz Dafi's expression saw his arrival, especially the surprise she had prepared so hard.

*****

Rain was heard on the roof of the house. I don't know since when he fell asleep and now just woke up from his sleep. Look at the wall clock and then move from the bed to the bathroom. When it entered dawn, after bathing and ablution, Vita performed the dawn prayer alone.

"She prayed, Vit?"

"Udah dong."

"Don't wake me up."

"Lo sleeping kek kebo dead, hard to wake up."

"Damn you!" Vita chuckles.

Lala immediately got out of bed and into the bathroom. He did not want to be late and disappointed his best friend who wanted to give ustadz Dafi a surprise at home.

Long story short they have arrived at the house of Ustadz Dafi. Mr. Grace chose to go home after dropping off his son as agreed last night. Vita takes the cake out of the plastic and then opens the lid of the box. While Lala lit some candles and stuck them in the corners of the cake.

With a feeling that was not because of it, Vita ventured to knock on the door. He hoped that Ustadz Dafi would open the door for them.

Luck sided, after seeing the figure of ustadz Dafi standing in front of the door, Vita thrust a cake with a lighted candle on it while singing.

Ustadz Dafi was shocked by their arrival at his home.

Shortly thereafter came a middle-aged woman still looking beautiful approaching them.

"Daf, it's not nice to behave like that to guests" he said.

"But they were only students at the place where Dafi taught, Umi."

A second later, Vita understood that the middle-aged woman was his mother, Ustadz Dafi. He smiled to himself imagining that Dafi would introduce him as a potential ghost.

"Hey, Anty why smile? Back home!"

"Kok ustadz told us to go home anyway? Ustadz should thank us for the surprise."

"You know what time it is, huh? You don't know the time" he said with annoyance. His face was red and held back emotions.

Vita who was initially very excited, suddenly he had to hold back his sadness. He looked down, hiding his already foggy eyes. If he lingered there for a long time, it was certain that the liquid would flow swiftly.

"I'm sorry, ustadz! I just want to wish you a happy birthday" said Vita as she offered the cake.

Instead of receiving and being welcomed, Ustadz Dafi quickly brushed him off. As a result, Vita's crisp clear-cut cake held hungry for days at school finally fell to the ground with a downturned position.

Seeing his sacrifice was futile, unappreciated, even ignored, collapsing was already his tears. Vita stepped back while looking down so that no one could see the swift flow of water falling on her cheek.

"I'm sorry, ustad has disturbed me. I'm saying goodbye! Maybe ustadz can not accept me, but I promise tomorrow I will ask again if ustadz Dafi already loves me?" He sighed while struggling to hold back the crying.

Lala who saw her best friend walking backwards, she approached ustadz Dafi and shouted loudly."Ustadz is totally outrageous, can't it appreciate a little people's giving? If you don't like the person at least take the cake. Ustadz never knew what sacrifice Vita made to get the cake. Human beings have no heart!"
