Humanity is fully willing to do anything imaginable, even resort to cannibalism, if it means staying alive.
All this is done just to survive.
He shook his head and calmed himself down, resisting the urge for his mind to be completely overtaken by pessimism.

Kai Axe held Jessica in his cradle while lying in his recliner at night, staring at the starry night.

The ark is currently chained to four 10,000-ton class reserve supply ships, all loaded with supplies that can easily last up to seven to eight years. Their only drawback is firearms.
Other than food and medicine, the other thing they were unable to prepare was weapons, as that was the one thing they could rely on to fend off threats.
He was preparing to go outside the US to see if he could buy and save many of them.
“Yap, take Veronica with you then and be careful”, Jessica said with a concerned look.
Jessica's face was red when she suddenly came down from her embrace, and straddled her.

Kai Axe rose and marked his calendar. It was June 29, 32 days into the apocalypse.
It was a new day, and the next day would be even closer to the apocalypse.
Kai Axe took Veronica with him and left the ark after breakfast, heading to the city.
