Tale Of Unknown: Hero From Zero

Tale Of Unknown: Hero From Zero
30. First Request Mission

"Sir, haven't you arrived yet?"

"Not yet."

"Now has it arrived?"

"Not yet."

"Have you?"

"Not yet."

"If now?"

"Not yet."

Right now Riyan and Noel are walking towards a cave that is most likely occupied by the Gigant Serpent, one of the monsters that are being targeted by this master and slave couple. The Gigant Serpent is a giant purple scaly snake, red-eyed, has a pair of large fangs that can be hidden, and has a terrible poison.

This monster held a grade C level and had a danger level of as much as five levels, according to the adventurer guild. With his level of danger being at the fifth level, for E-class adventurers like Riyan and Noel should not take this request. Wh why? Of course because it's dangerous.

Most E-class adventurers only had a level of danger, which meant that their strength and abilities were extremely low. Not only that, there were even some cases in the handful of people who wanted to become adventurers but the dangerous level it possessed was nonexistent at all. Yes, in other words zero.

As a person's strength and abilities increase, the level of danger will be higher, as well as the level of class. But something was different for Ryan. True, the level of harm and class shown by his adventurer card was completely unbalanced.

This was not some sort of bug like in the game, but what happened to Riyan was a natural thing. Most adventurers would grow stronger when faced with various requests from the adventurer guild to raise their levels, but it was a pity that Riyan did not go through that process. Riyan was already strong before enrolling in the adventurer guild, that was the only logical explanation regarding this matter.

What made Riyan weak in his early weeks in this world was his [All Zero] skill, which had now turned into [All Three]. But strangely, what made him this strong was also the skill. A skill that harms its owner, but also benefits its owner, a very rare thing.

Back to the main point.

The harm level of living things can be classified through their status and level, but most of them are used as status like adventurer guilds. There may be some places that use a large level of a person, for example certain organizations.

The harm level of each monster class is usually divided from the level of its class that has been determined by the adventurer guild. For example, the Gigant Serpent which was a C grade level monster that also had as much as 5 levels of harm. This is influenced by the system of categorizing adventurer guilds in sorting out how dangerous each type of monster is.

Monsters that have a danger level of one will be categorized into class E levels. As their grade level increases, the level of harm will also be added one per class. If an E-class level monster had a danger level of one, then a D-grade monster contained a two and three-story level monster, and so on. Each grade level increased by one level of harm to a monster.

The level of harm to a person also affected his class in the adventurer guild, just like monsters. When it comes to Noel and Riyan, their danger level is not yet known by the adventurer guild, which is why their class in the organization system is still at the lowest level, even though it does not actually match their abilities.

True, if the adventurer guild knew the harm level of this master and slave pair, they would definitely elevate Noel and Riyan to D and S class adventurers in an instant without requiring much consideration, especially Riyan. With his level of danger, he could no doubt be raised to S-class.

"Sir, aren't you tired?"

"Absolutely. Why indeed? Are you tired?"

"T\-no, not that. K\-we've been walking for more than an hour, humans usually must be tired."

Riyan's forehead shriveled as soon as he heard Noel's reply. He looked at his slave who was beside his right with a sharp enough gaze. Noel kept smiling back at his master's gaze.

"Do I look like a normal human being?"

"Finally if from the appearance of the outside, the master is no different from other humans anyway."

"so."

Riyan again turned his neck forward looking at the path before them. His expression remained flat, very different from Noel who looked pleased. Why does Noel look so happy when the request he took was quite difficult for him? Of course because this request was his first mission as an adventurer as well as his first fight with Riyan.

After approximately ten minutes of walking, they finally reached the place in question, the cave where the Gigant Serpent nestled inside. The request they took was a conquest mission, killing a Gigant Serpent nesting in a cave in the forest east of the city of Tladga.

"Noel, we're going in there. Strengthen \[High Sense\] and \[Owl Vision\]\-mu."

"B\-good."

Receiving orders from Riyan, Noel immediately strengthened his [High Sense] and [Owl Vision] like his master said. Just in case, Riyan also strengthened his [Sensei] and [Owl Vision] following Noel. Since the cave they will enter is not known exactly what is in there, there is no harm in anticipating an attack, right?

They set foot steps into the cave before them with light steps. Although he looked calm, at the dawn of his heart Noel was very excited and eager to barge in with a loud voice. But if he did that, Riyan would definitely be furious.

***

In the middle of the journey to enter the cave that is suspected to be the nest of Gigant Serpent, Riyan and Noel had been attacked several times by low-level monsters. Although said to be low, the reality is that Noel is quite difficult in fighting it. Well, that was because it was viewed from the side of Riyan who had a high level.

"Master, may I ask you one thing?"

"What's that?"

Without distracting her from the path in front of her, Riyan responded to Noel's question.

"Why do you want to go to the mountains of Yoranidia?"

Hearing the question, Riyan was a little stunned and her steps came to a halt. Automatic, Noel also stopped his steps beside his master.

"I want to visit your hometown."

"Eh?"

Noel slightly gasped at the answer from Riyan. His steps came to a halt when he received a shocking answer from his master. Who would have thought that a slave owner wanted to visit his own slave hometown? It was very strange, too strange even for someone summoned from another world.

Noel just silently pensively behind, while Riyan continued his steps that had stopped earlier. Noticing Noel's footsteps stopping, Riyan turned his head back with his flat expression.

"Hey, what are you doing? Want to linger\-long in this humid place?"

"Ti\-no!"

Consciously awakened by Riyan from his daydream, Noel immediately walked quickly following his master who was in front. His heart was pounding to quickly meet the friends and family who were there. Not only that, this time he also brought - rather brought - by someone he admired as a master and knight.

"Noel!"

Realizing the danger threatening Noel from behind, Riyan immediately spread his left hand towards the figure and deployed some [Mana Bullet] who immediately shot forward to protect Noel.

Blaarr!!

A small explosion filled the cave passage as a result of the impact from Riyan's [Mana Bullet] and the four-meter-high figure earlier. Noel who knew nothing was of course surprised to see his master charging towards him - which turned out to be pointed behind him - and to hear a loud bang entering both ears of his wolf who was sensitive to sound. He then covers his ears with his hands.

'Can\-can be any monsters undetected by \[Sense\]\-ku and \[High Sense\] Noel who is a beastkind.'

Not feeling that it was enough to finish off the figure, Riyan pulled Glayster from his back and formed fighting horses. It improves [Sense] and [Owl Vision] uses mana so that both skill effects can be several times stronger than usual. It's really on standby.

Not quite there, Noel who had recovered from his shock also pulled Welsher from the waist and mounted the horses, hoping to be of little use to his master. He held Welsher on standby while raising his vigilance.

After about ten seconds, the smoke generated from the [Mana Bullet] explosion began to disappear and revealed the figure of a creature that was spontaneously attacked by Riyan to protect his beastkind slaves. Unfortunately, the battle preparations they had prioritized turned out to be useless.

""Eh?""

The figure that was about to attack Noel from behind had quietly fallen lifelessly on the cold, damp rock floor of the cave. Noel looked extremely surprised, whereas Riyan kept his flat expression with no reaction at all.

'Ah, true as well, my magic power status is far above the average\ others.'

After a moment of confusion as to why the figure could be uprooted just because of some [Mana Bullet], he was aware of his status. Although the level was not much different from that of Faleon, all status except the parameters of his life were very different, like heaven and earth. Riyan was much stronger than Faleon, especially on the defensive status.

"Master, isn't this monster the Gigant Serpent\-monster we're looking to complete the request from the adventurer guild?"

Riyan's attention was turned to Noel who had approached and examined the corpse of the creature. It is a giant snake, purple scaly, red-eyed, and has a pair of sharp fangs. With those characteristics, Riyan can ensure that the monster he just defeated is none other than the Gigant Serpent.

On the corpse of the Gigant Sepent there are several burns and sprinkles due to the explosive effect of [Mana Bullet]. Riyan wasn't too surprised to see the reality unfolding before him, considering his magic power status was above 2000 points. On the other hand, Noel was a little surprised to learn that the condition of the monster corpse could be injured to such an extent.

Gigant Serpent is known for its skin that is strong enough that most magic and magic skills are not effective against it. However, what was happening in front of him was completely different from what he had imagined. The simple skill that Riyan created from [Manipulation Mana]-[Mana Bullet]- could only destroy the Gigant Serpent's skin, what would happen if his master were to deploy even more terrifying magic skills?

'As expected of the master, his strength is really\-terrible.'

Inwardly, Noel said it with awe and pride, but his current expression looked more frightened and surprised. If only he broke or did something that made his master unhappy, there was a chance that he could end up like a Gigant Serpent just now. Isn't he being paranoid?

Riyan came closer to Noel who was still examining the corpse of the Gigant Serpent. When he reached the monster's corpse, he cut off both fangs that reached the human arm using the Glayster he still held. Noel who saw that was quite confused and was about to ask his master.

"Master, what are the Gigant Serpent's fangs for?"

"Hm? This is proof that we have successfully conquered the Gigant Serpent on demand."

"Oh, so all of that has to be proof, yeah. All right, I'll remember!"

Riyan simply nodded her head in response to Noel. After tying the two fangs of the monster on Noel's back, they immediately darted away leaving the cave that they were this place in. Although not at full speed, Noel still took pains to compensate for his master's run. At any rate, his master was indeed a monster.

***

Arriving at the adventurer guild building, Riyan and Noel immediately went to the reception desk and put down the two Gigant Serpent fangs that Noel carried. Seeing this, the receptionist was surprised. Wh why? Because the Gigant Serpent is a monster with a grade C level and its danger level is at level five.

For the two E-class adventurers who had just registered, of course, the entire adventurer guild building was a scene. Amongst this furore, only Riyan and a few people looked flat and displeased. Some people who wanted to get close to them and intended to congratulate, were immediately given a terrible killing intent by Riyan. They retreated without further ado and that made the whole union silent.

"I\-reward is as big as ti\-three pieces of silver."

The receptionist handed over three pieces of silver to Riyan, which he then took and put in his pocket. In addition, the receptionist requested the adventurer cards of Riyan and Noel so that both of them could move up the grade level to C or more. According to the receptionist, the slave couple and the master gave their adventurer cards.

"I\-it!?"

When he saw the adventurer card that Riyan had, the receptionist was shocked to death. His eyes widened and his lower jaw hung, opening his wide mouth like he had lost his bolt. He screamed so knowing the level of danger that this black-haired, white-haired youth had.

Just contact all the attention in the guild building was directed to the receptionist. Ignoring all the gazes given, the receptionist apologized and bowed to Riyan many times. He really did not expect that this weak-looking young man before him was one of the few S-class adventurers.

"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!"

"No need to think about it, just get it done quickly don't waste our time."

"B\-good!"

Soon after, the receptionist girl ran straight to the top floor through the stairs. I don't know what he's doing, but Riyan is upset about having to wait again. To pass the time, he finally sat in a chair with Noel who was sitting next to him.

Riyan ordered some kind of food and drinks, of course Noel was also told to order what he wanted. A few minutes later, their order came and Riyan immediately devoured it. Noel ordered one serving of food, but the master was more than five. Is that normal?

Since the adventurer guild building was too big, then besides the place to receive and take the request and payment of the adventurer guild usually opened a restaurant that could be visited by various circles. However, the restaurant inside this adventurer guild building was dominated by adventurers, so ordinary people were afraid and rarely visited here.

"Hey you, you gray boy."

From beside them came a heavy voice aimed at Riyan. Realizing that, Riyan and Noel turned their heads and looked at the source of the voice that called out to him. There was a handsome man with long green hair, wearing light iron armor on some parts of his body, and a pair of swords attached to his back. Behind him were also some people who seemed to be his entourage.

"You called me?"

"Shoppers! How presumptuous of you to call Mr. Lexis that way!"

Riyan's reply made the group behind the man named Lexis pull each of the weapons and deliver them to Riyan. Seeing this, the entire adventurer building suddenly panicked - no exception Noel who looked frightened. On the other hand, the only ones who remained calm inside this building were simply Riyan and Lexis.

Before he could attack Riyan, Lexis raised his left hand and ordered his entourage to retreat. Of course the party obeyed Lexis' orders, albeit with a heavy heart. Even so, Riyan still put on his flat expression.

"I heard that there were newcomers in this adventurer guild and they were a weak-looking black and white-haired boy, while the other was a wolf-type beastkind girl whose fur and hair were white. That's you guys, right?"

"really. Then why?"

"Less aj\-"

Before the entourage behind him pulled his weapon again, Lexis raised his hand once more to stop their movement. He looked at Riyan with a sharp gaze that was quite deep. Unfortunately, Riyan did not budge at all. It made Lexis raise her eyebrows.

"It seems like your mouth needs to be taught some courtesy to the person above you, huh?"

Hearing him, Riyan reacted slightly. Needless to ask, he deployed his [Apprasial] to Lexis. After a while of noticing the status screen displayed by one of his skills, his face turned flat again and turned his gaze to the coffee he ordered, then upheld it.

This makes Lexis and his entourage rise in blood to the top of the jellyfish - almost exploded. Fortunately, Lexis' words were immediately responded to by Riyan who stood up and approached this long green-haired man. It seemed that Riyan was also a little challenged with this man in front of her.

"It looks like you're a little different from the weak\-monster monsters I've been fighting all along. Please, entertain me as best you can."

"Then, let's go to the backyard of this building. I'll ask the union's chairman's permission."

After that statement, Lexis and his entourage turned around leaving behind Riyan and Noel. Riyan sat back and finished the food and drink he ordered, then paid for it without any anxiety at all. On Noel's side, he frowned worried for the only master he had
