Surviving In The Middle of a Zombie Plague

Monday morning, the first day of our journey to survive and now is half an hour after I fired my gun at the zombies to save sam and rose.
Joe stopped his car right on the side of an empty road where no zombies could be seen, seeing it was me, peter and sam coming to the side to stop our bike.

We immediately helped Kelly, kill the zombie, strangely the zombie was only half of his body. But we are faced with 2 choices. Amputate his leg, or let him get infected. When Joe brought the axe from the car, Kelly also asked him not to cut his leg so that makes us so confused.

"just leave me, I'm not excited to continue this" replied Kelly.
We were all confused as to what to do and were also wary of another zombie coming. After a long enough discussion we decided to follow the will of kelly. Because why do we save him if he does not want to continue this journey.......
We also left Kelly there and returned to our respective vehicles but when I want to go to my bike it turns out there are many zombies behind, because I parked my bike away from the group.... I had to go to Sarah's car to save myself.
