Come to town

A dense and shady forest there was a man who was resting while burning rabbit meat that he had just caught. The man was wearing brown clothes with fur adorning on his periphery. Carrying a large sword weapon that only had one sword blade.

"Huf.today is an unlucky day. Is today not my luck ?"

While complaining the man did not forget to flip through the rabbit meat he burned, so as not to be charred and cooked evenly. Sometimes he also added wood so that the fire he used was not extinguished.

It took two incense sticks for the rabbit's meat to ripen. The aroma that smelled so fragrant because earlier he added some spices as a flavor enhancer.

The man then ate his meat. But suddenly he heard a quite disturbing voice in his ear. The voice came from the direction of the bush where he rested.

Just in case he circulated his gaze to check if the voice had come from a monster or not. The man sensed that no movement of Qi energy was happening around him.

'Crank ? I did not feel any Qi energy from the direction of the bushes' thought the man with a look of astonishment.

Immediately he picked up his sword that was lying on the ground. Pointing towards the bushes that were in front of him. "Who is that !? Get out quick ! Or I cut your body into two parts !"

Not long after, a boy was seen coming out of the bushes. The boy came out with a terrified look on his face at the threat of killing him.

"Master... Signore... Please don't kill me. I accidentally saw the master. Please forgive me" he said, prostrating himself as he pleaded for mercy.

While the man who brandished the sword earlier put his sword back on his waist. 'Why can there be a boy in the middle of this forest ?' Knowing that the voice had come from the boy in front of him. He was relieved that his assumptions were not correct.

"Oi... Boy, get up ! This time I forgive you. I don't know why there's a kid in this forest. So hurry home and get back to your family".

The man then returned to the front of the fireplace to eat the meat of his rabbit that he had not had time to spend. 'Chih. Is this forest now a children's park ?' While eating the rabbit meat he turned towards the boy earlier.

"Why don't you go home soon ? Are you lost !?" He saw that the boy was still there and kept looking at him. Like wanting something that was on him.

'So that's the reason'. After hearing the voice, the man finally knew why the boy kept looking at him.

"Well are you hungry ?"

The boy who was asked immediately nodded his head quickly to answer the question from the man.

"I happened to burn two rabbits. This one I give to you" he said, taking the rabbit meat next to him and giving it to the boy.

The boy then quickly walked over to pick up the rabbit meat given by the man in front of him. In spirit he ate the meat very greedily.

'Looks like he's really hungry' thought the man when he saw the boy next to him eating the rabbit meat he gave him.

After a while, the two of them finished their meal. The boy thanked the man next to him who had given him food.

The man then asked the boy, "What's your name and why are you in the woods at midnight like this ?"

Slowly the boy replied, "My name is Sung Lin sir and I am looking for food in this forest".

"Do you have a family ?" Once again the man asked the boy beside him. Hoping that if he did he would deliver the boy to his family, because the forest here is filled with monsters and wild animals that do not hesitate to prey on small children like him.

But it was a pity that the answer he wanted did not appear from the boy beside him. The boy shakes his head in a sign that he has no family.

'Is he an orphan ? It's true that I heard rumors that many of the children seemed to have lost their families to attacks from the devil' thought the man.

After thinking for a while, the man then took the initiative to help the boy beside him.

"Hey boy, do you want to come with me to town ? There you can find a job you think is appropriate. But when we reach the city, we'll split up".

Not answering directly but Sung Lin thought for a while and afterwards he asked the man beside him. "Can I go with you to the city ?"

Hearing that the man smiled as he put his palm to his head. "Well. Didn't I offer you to come with me to the city ? That means I'm allowing you to come with me".

"Then I want to go with you !" Sung Lin was happy when there was a good person like the man beside him offering him help.

"We'll leave tomorrow morning. For now we'll rest here. And don't get you up late because otherwise I'll leave you !"

"Okay sir !" replied Sung Lin.

After that the man sat cross-legged while leaning against a tree to sleep. He looked to the side. Seeing that the boy was sleeping on the side while holding his clothes.

'I will take this in return for what I have done. At least I didn't want to feel too guilty' the man then closed his eyes to start resting.

Time passed by and the sun did not start to rise again. Their journey to the city finally began. On occasional trips they encountered wild beasts but were not particularly threatening. With a few strikes the man who used the great sword as a weapon to fight the ferocious beasts easily defeated him.

Sung Lin who saw the fight earlier felt amazed by the man in front of him. "Wow... master, is master a cultivator ?"

"Well, you could say I'm a cultivator" replied the man.

"Master is great ! Even the savage beast earlier was no match for master. With a few moves the master could already defeat him. Like wush.. wush..."

The man scratched his non-itchy forehead. He felt a little uneasy if he was always called master by the boy in front of him. "Ee. because we now have the same goal that is to the city. I hope you don't call me mister".

The excited Sung Lin earlier instantly fell silent while staring at the man behind him. "Then if I don't mention master then I should call master how ?"
