Soul Land III: Legend of the Dragon King
Chapter 20 – Fusions

Crying is the best way to vent one's feelings. After wetting Na’er's shoulder with her tears, the sound of crying slowly stopped.

“Na’er, am I weak?” Tang Wulin asked after he lifted his head and wiped off his tears.

Na’er shook her head excitedly.

Tang Wulin looked at the spirit soul in his hand. The small Snake Grass moved within the spirit soul ball in a carefree manner.

“You can go first, Na’er. I want to merge with this spirit soul. ” Tang Wulin said bitterly.

Na’er hesitated and said, “But, this one is not good?”

Tang Wulin forced a smile. “It's been hard for mom and dad to support us, so I can't add to their load. Dad said he would help me get some money to buy another one now, but our family didn't have much money to start with. I can't let mom and dad carry another burden for me. Although it was not very good, it was still a spirit soul. It will still allow me to become an official Soul Master. Also, father will not face any more difficulties once I fuse with him. ”

Na’er looked at him blankly. “Sister male...”

Tang Wulin smiled widely. “I'm fine. It was just my dream anyway. Maybe being an accomplished forger suits me best. ”

At this moment, Tang Wulin's profound smile was engraved in his heart. It was the kind of optimistic smile of relief and helplessness that covered the depths of his grief.

Her eyes followed Na’er as she left the room. Then he bit his lips and turned his gaze to the Snake Grass once more. At that moment as he looked at her, all sorts of feelings began to appear in his heart.

He knew that after joining this spirit soul, he would lose the opportunity to achieve his dream of becoming a powerful Soul Master. But what can he do?

He gently touched the spirit soul ball in his hand. Spirit souls did not possess much material existence, let alone low-level spirit souls like this.

His finger gently passed through the body of the Snake Grass. It seemed to have sensed it, as it released itself. Despite having an illusory form, he could still twist his finger and tightly stick out his branching little tongue as if wanting to lick it.

He brought his hand to his face, allowing him to see clearly into the small brown eyes of the Snake Grass spirit soul. His eyes were foggy and unfocused, with a hint of fear at his confusion.

It was also a living being and would disappear permanently if he did not fuse with it in twenty-four hours.

‘Defense martial soul and broken spirit soul. That's very fitting. ‘ Tang Wulin mocked himself as he flipped his palm, releasing soul force to summon a faint blue halo from which the Bluesilver Grass appeared.

Snake Grass could instinctively sense the existence of Bluesilver Grass as it climbed up Tang Wulin's finger, quickly reaching Bluesilver Grass.

The soft blue light shining from Bluesilver Grass suddenly released a powerful light. When the light fell onto the Snake Grass, a ring of yellow light faintly emerged from its body.

This was the first time Tang Wulin had fused with a spirit soul, but Lin Ximeng had taught their class of spirit souls as well as what fusion felt like just yet.

Tang Wulin opened his soul and accepted it inside. Changes immediately began to appear in Bluesilver Grass while his soul power surged.

He closed his eyes and quietly entered a meditative state as his fusion began.

The small Grass Snake spun and spun on his palm. Regardless of the first relationship between the two of them, nothing else had been sent. This was the lowest grade spirit soul intelligence. The stronger the spirit soul, the smarter the soul was. Soul spirits above the purple rank were even able to communicate with their hosts. Legend has it that spirit souls that surpass that rank can even help the host in battle.

However, the legend was only a legend to Tang Wulin.

The earth yellow body of the Little Grass Snake gradually changed to a blue color while the blades of Bluesilver Grass grew rapidly.

The originally weak and fragile clump harmoniously curled up and gradually grew to as thick as a finger with an appearance similar to that of a vine. After careful inspection, the remains of scales can be found on a piece of grass. It now had a dark luster similar to Snake Grass. Although it was rougher, it still looked as fragile as before.

The body of the Snake Grass had grown slightly and was now roughly eight centimeters long. Blue stains also appeared on his scales. Fusion finished smoothly.

The spiritual strength of the Snake Grass was too weak; it was basically impossible to resist at all. Although the Bluesilver Grass was a trash martial soul, Tang Wulin's spiritual power had reached the middle rank of the Origin Spirit realm, thus allowing him to dominate in this fusion.

The Blades of Bluesilver Grass had grown longer and had become a vine that circled his body.

Tang Wulin's soul force began to fluctuate violently upon meeting the bottleneck and surging, breaking through and developing his martial soul at the same time.

Tang Wulin's entire body felt light as the soul force condensed within his dantian had countless threads penetrating into every cell of his body. The cells in his body were aroused and filled with energy. They were filled with carefree and worry-free feelings that finally eased the depression in his heart.

Right at that moment, Tang Wulin suddenly felt a heat wave coming from his tailbone. This heat immediately turned into a stinging hot sensation that radiated to his spine before it continued to spread throughout his body. The aura around his body underwent a slight change after this.

The Bluesilver Grass Blade that had just finished evolved and the small Snake Grass suddenly became stiff and frozen in place.

A faint golden vein pattern appeared once again, rapidly descending from Tang Wulin's forehead while the golden thread from his tailbone swiftly rose. The two golden lights met at the peak of his spine and merged into one.

This golden color is much clearer than before. It not only spread throughout his body, but also to the small Grass Snake on his palm and the Bluesilver Grass that had just finished evolving.

The originally dark and gloomy Bluesilver grass now had a thin golden line along it, reaching all the way to its tip. Another change appeared in it under the influence of the golden vein pattern.

It was as if the dull vine-like grass had suddenly become a skeleton and its tenacity had increased drastically. In addition, the dull surface of the grass gradually gained a shiny shine with faint circles of blue light and thin golden lines. It looks more striking than before.
