Chapter 8 The Passion of Clara

Bryan was upset to see his brother-in-law just shut up when he needed an answer. If what was in his mind was true, then Bryan would certainly be very disappointed in his brother-in-law.

"Jawab, Ma'am! Why would you just shut up?" bryan asked.

"You've told me that Vita was framed! There's no way Vita's gonna do that bad, Bry! Vita is a very nice girl. I've known him from childhood and we're close cousins." Clara still defends her cousin.

"Oh yeah? But I can't believe it, Ma'am! Because in the news it is clear that Vita is 3 months pregnant and it is not yet known who the biological father of the fetus it contains. Don't-don't Mbak want to match me with Vita so that Vita gets a confession from me about her pregnancy and instead accuse me of desecrating her? Is that true, Mommy?" bryan asked with a serious face.

Bryan needed an honest answer from his brother-in-law, because his brother-in-law almost plunged his life if Bryan accepted the offer two weeks ago.

"What the hell is a fuss? Why are you yelling at your sister-in-law like that, Bryan? Who taught you to be so impolite?" asked Ms. Siska who came out of the room with a crumpled face because she had just slept a lot, if she looked like that then there was no socialite soul emanated there.

"You know, Ma! Bryan was angry not clear with me and accused me of not-no, even though he had just returned from the office. This must have been the influence of the woman he was aiming to be his wife, Ma!" clara quickly.

"Don't link this issue to anyone else, Ma'am! Ms. Clara now just answer my question. What do you mean you want to match me up with your cousin two weeks ago? Is it because you predicted that last night would happen? Then Ma'am Clara wants to make me a scapegoat for this!" Bryan was getting upset that Clara could still be evasive.

"Mister Clara is right, Bryan! Now you've changed so much since you knew that woman and your attitude is now getting rough with your mother! What is the problem and what does Clara have to answer?" ask Miss Siska with emotions.

"Mama still remember that cousin Clara was going to be with me two weeks ago?" bryan asked his mother. 

"Yes! What's wrong with Vita?" replied Miss Siska while asking a question back.

"It turns out she's 3 months pregnant, Ma! And Sister Clara wants to match me to a woman like that. Did you also want to match me to a woman who was wrong?" Bryan is fishing for his mother's answer, he wants to see what his mother's reaction is this time after knowing his favorite son-in-law apparently wants to trap them.

But once again Bryan had to swallow a bitter pill, because in reality his mother did not defend him at all. Even Ms. Siska even more scolded herself because she had dared to say that Clara's cousin was a bad woman.

"Truly don't have your heart, Bry! Cousin of Clara is in a state of calamity, but you're accusing her like this instead. Supposedly as Clara's sister-in-law as well as Clara's mother-in-law's family, we should help the Vita family in dealing with problems like this, not even cornering them, Bryan!" scold Miss Siska loudly.

Bryan glanced at his sister-in-law who was currently smiling triumphantly.  Now Bryan knew that Clara, his crafty sister-in-law, was a step early to deliver a nasty poison to his mother's mind. Even her mother now did not want to see the truth and also the reality that was happening.

Everyone knows the news about Vita getting pregnant out of wedlock and does not know who is pregnant, even Vita was found along with some men in a hotel room, but it turned out that reality was not affected at all by his mother. Clara is too clever to figure out a way to keep her place in Miss Siska's heart.

"Ma! The real thing is..."

"Enough, Bryan! If you can't help to clear back the big family's good name, ma'am! At least you no longer discuss the problems that make Mbak sad, because Vita is a close cousin, Ma'am. Mbak was also shaken by the problems faced by Vita, various kinds of slander received by Mbak's cousin's sister and now the slander was also Mbak heard from Mbak's own brother-in-law," clara said dramatically, trying to get the full attention of her mother-in-law, so that Ms. Siska continued to defend her.

"But it's Mbak's cousin..."

"ENOUGH, BRYAN! Mama told me not to talk about any more issues that could make your mother sad. I've learned all about last night from Clara, you don't have to retell about it, because it's not true at all. Vita was found with several men and reportedly 3 months pregnant, but it was just a slander from people who did not like their families.

Don't be so narrow-minded and go along with such cheap gossip, Bryan! Now you better go to the bathroom, take a shower and calm your bad-minded brain toward others. Mama was so dizzy from earlier hearing you scream like a stressed out person in this house. Mama's resting and you're bothering her." Ms. Siska now accuses Bryan of disturbing her, but Bryan just wants to explain the real incident to her mother.

"Alright, Ma! It's up to Mama then, the important thing is that I've tried to tell Mama the truth. Now it's up to mom, the important thing is that I'm very grateful for not accepting Ms. Clara's offer to get acquainted with her cousin" Bryan said.

After that Bryan went to his room with a feeling that was still prying at once disappointed, because he did not get a clear answer to his question. Bryan was convinced that the viral news was true. Clara does have another intention behind Clara's intention to match him with Vita.

From then on Bryan was always wary of his brother-in-law. Clara also increasingly showed resistance to Bryan, one of them by inciting Miss Siska to hate Bryan at all costs. And strangely Ms. Siska always believed in Clara.
