RESURRECTION
Chapter 17to20

— 17 —

When he got home, he saw a man looking around through the door.

A sale? Upon taking a closer look at the man's face, a name appeared on Masashi's head.

"Dad?" It felt awkward to say these nouns again after several hundred years.

"It's Masashi, you're finally back" Hirota Katsutoshi was delighted.

"When did you come here?"

"This morning, but no one answered the door."

"Kazumi should be shopping right now. Let's go in first."

Masashi poured him a cup of tea and turned on the TV.

"I heard you had to stay in the hospital due to an injury, is that true?"

"Yes, but that's the past. I'm very healthy now."

"I'm really sorry. I'm going abroad on business. I only found out about this when I came back" Katsutoshi seemed to apologize.

"No need to mention it. What are you here for today?"

"Nothing special. I got a couple of days off work so I came to see you. Are you all right?"

"Kazumi and I are fine. Thank you," Masashi said calmly.

It was hard for him to have feelings for strangers. Their conversation was polite but lacked warmth.

At that moment, he heard the turn of the door. Masashi knows that Kazumi is back.

The door opened and Kazumi entered with a bag of goods.

"Kazumi, I'm here to see us" Masashi told him.

Kazumi's face turned pale as soon as he saw Katsutoshi on the sofa.

"During the meeting, Kazumi. How are you?" Katsutoshi said with a smile.

"out! Get out of here now," Kazumi sounded furious.

"Kazumi, how can you talk like that. He's our father." Although Masashi had no feelings towards this father but it was too much.

"Kazumi, I …"

"I told you to come out, didn't you hear me?" Shouted Kazumi then threw his bag at him.

Masashi surprised. He never looked like that in that condition.

Is this the same Kazumi who is usually silent and indifferent?

"Looks like I should go," Katsutoshi walked to the door.

Masashi.

Katsutoshi sighed and said. "It looks like Kazumi still hasn't forgiven me for leaving you. But, what else can I do."

Masashi felt something strange but he didn't think too much about it. "I think Kazumi can't accept it for now. I'll talk to him after he calms down."

"Thank you, Masashi. You really are growing up. I'll be staying at a hotel near here for a few days. Call me if anything happens."

Masashi nodded.

After he returned inside, Kazumi's door was closed.

He had to order lunch at that time.

After lunch, she said through the door that the food was left in the kitchen, but there was no answer.

Let him calm himself. Masashi thought.

He didn't know where to go when he walked down the street. Too bad Hey and Changan are in the U. S. or they can go out for a drink together.

Something suddenly appeared in his mind and he entered the bookstore.

"Hello, how can I help you?" The receptionist asked politely.

"Do you have a book on stock investing?"

"Yes, please follow me."

Masashi follows him to a corner full of books on investing.

He randomly picked up about ten books and entered the reading room.

Masashi caught his breath and started flipping through books. His speed increased by a second and before long, he finished the book and continued on to the next one.

The book was printed in his mind. It was an ability he discovered when he was bored.

As he adjusted his mental state and focused on reading, he could memorize all the words and images clearly.

Soon, the entire stack of books was finished printing. Masashi proceeded to pick up another stack of books. He finished all his books on investing in just three hours.

After organizing the information in his head, he came to a conclusion about all these theories and analysis techniques, nonsense.

The spread of the internet gives consumers more options, but the core of investment has not changed. Many of these so-called new techniques are just lies.

It is better to only research the condition, assets, and debt of the company.

— 18 —

But where can he get this information? He could call Sakura Mion, but she did not want to contact the gang.

Then he saw an entertainment center and an idea popped into his mind.

Following the memories of Hirota Masashi earlier, he opened a web page and quickly researched a lot of information about the listed company.

Because there were so many public companies in Japan, he only researched a small portion with dinner. Everything will take a week.

Fortunately, it was a summer vacation so there was plenty of time.

Kazumi was making dinner when he returned home. He looked indifferent as usual, like nothing had happened.

After dinner, Masashi enters the kitchen and talks to him. "Kazumi, I want to talk to you."

"If it's about that guy, then don't bother me."

"Kazumi, he's your father."

“I don't have a father like this.” He bit his lips and he trembled.

"Say, what's really going on?" Masashi felt it was not as simple as he thought.

“Nothing concerns you,” he calms down and returns to his room.

Masashi continued the research for the next few days. He could not think of a way to deal with Kazumi so he had to wait for mother to come back and ask.

One afternoon, he saw Hirota Katsutoshi coming out of the house when he returned home.

Kazumi charged behind him, holding a knife.

Masashi almost doubted his vision. He could not imagine a girl like Kazumi would do something like this.

There is no time to think. He ran and grabbed his sister.

"Take me off. Let go of me.." Kazumi thrashed.

Masashi could not stand it and slapped him.

"You all ********!" He ran back inside holding his cheek.

"Masashi, I …"

"Can you go first? This is not the time to talk," Masashi was annoyed.

"Well, we'll talk after a day or two" Katsutoshi left.

Upon entering the house, the floor was destroyed and filled with broken items.

"Kazumi, can we talk?" Masashi walked into his room.

However, no answer came through the door. He had to give up after a while.

Everything is clearly more complex. He took the address Katsutoshi gave him a few days ago.

9 NIGHTS . Masashi arrives at the hotel where Katsutoshi is staying. The receptionist tells him that Katsutoshi has not returned.

"Do you know what time he usually comes back?"

"Sorry, but we don't know."

"Is there a bar near them?" Masashi remembers the smell of alcohol on Katsutoshi.

"There are three bars near here. The nearest one is only 400 meters away. You should see it if you turn right and walk straight."

"Thank you . "

After walking a bit, he looked at the bar.

The inside is dim. The figures twisted their bodies along with the screeching metal music.

A girl in lingerie and a bra was dancing around the pole in the middle of the stage.

The atmosphere reminded him of animal farming.

"Nii-san, first time here?" A rabbit girl walked over.

"Have you ever seen a man in a suit, wearing gold frame glasses, about forty years old?"

"There are so many men like this here. Buy me a drink and we'll find them one by one, okay?" He thought Masashi was being shy.

"I'm not here to ****. Help me find this man and the money is yours" Masashi slapped 10,000 yen on the table.

“Wait a moment here, I'll go ask others.” The rabbit girl ran away.

By the time Masashi drank a third glass of alcohol, he was back.

"There's a guy who looks like your description. I can take you but you can only peek through the door. I'll be in trouble if you upset a customer." The rabbit girl looked at the money in her hand.

Masashi finished the glass and stood up. "Let's go . "

The bunny girl took him to the room then lightly opened the door.

He could hear the laughter of men and women and knew he was finding the right person. Masashi pushed the door at once.

"Ah. You who? Who let you in?" The woman sitting on Katsutoshi's lap screamed.

"What, what's going on?" Katsutoshi asked drunk.

"How can you be like this. Didn't I tell you not to bother them?" Shouted the rabbit girl.

"So it's you, Yoko. I'll tell the manager."

"No, Haruko. I don't know this boy. I'm…"

"You two are silent. I know this guy. I'm here to take him away, "Masashi's holding Katsutoshi.

"No, he's my client. How can I let you take him like this."

Then he stopped talking after Masashi threw his 20,000 Yen.

— 19 —

Katsutoshi vomited twice on the way back to the hotel. Masashi would throw him into the street if he wasn't their father.

Katsutoshi regained consciousness moments after Masashi placed a warm towel on his face.

"Who ... you? I think I've seen you before."

"Have you forgotten? I bought you a drink at the bar."

"Oh, so. Thank ye. You're a good man."

"Something seems to be bothering you. Want to talk to someone?"

"How .... I .. have something ... that is disturbing ... I am very happy .. Haha ..." Katsutoshi laughed.

"So there really was something disturbing. You can try and say it. It'll make you feel better."

"Really ...really?"

"Yes, of course. Because I tried it. Just say it and you'll feel better" Masashi slowed down his tone.

"But .. but I can't .. say it," Katsutoshi struggled.

"Why not. Justsaytheword. You will no longer be disturbed. There's no one else here. No one will hear what you say." Her voice sounds charming.

"But…"

"Don't worry. No one will hear it."

"I'm .. I'm so sorry …"

"Really, continue. Slowly."

"I ... I did something sad to .. my daughter .. my wife parted with me because of this …"

After half an hour of his description being broken, Masashi learned the truth from this man.

For a moment, he wanted to kill her.

"I'm .. I really don't want to. I don't .. I don't know what happened to me that day. I really don't want to .." He keeps repeating this sentence.

Masashi smiled coldly as he looked at the man. "Don't worry. I'll help you atone for your sins."

Kazumi looked at the clock after he woke up. It's 2 in the morning. He fell asleep while crying.

After he left the room, he saw the living room had been cleaned and a note on the table. "There's food in the kitchen."

After he left the room, he saw the living room had been cleaned and a note on the table. "There's food in the kitchen."

Kazumi felt a slight warmth inside.

I said something horrible to him today. He felt a bit bad and ran to Masashi's room. Then he heard a voice from the door.

"What is Akamatsu Ryuichiro? I'm Masashi."

"I want you to look after someone, Hirota Katsutoshi. Men, forties, go find their own details."

"Don't kill him. Don't hit him. I just want you to castrate him. I want him to be the last eunuch in Japan. Don't leave a trace, I don't want any trouble."

"Thank you in advance" Masashi hung up.

Kazumi's heart was beating very fast when he heard it. He had never seen this side of Masashi. And it seems like he's learned everything. Did mom tell him?

Then he heard Masashi calling again.

"Mom? I'm Masashi. Sorry to bother you so late."

"Mom, let's divorce the guy. Japanese law allows couples to divorce after living apart for two years."

"Mom, don't lie. I know everything."

A long moment of silence.

"Don't worry. The beast did not come to us. Kazumi told me."

"Mom, don't cry. I will take good care of Kazumi. I won't let him get hurt again."

"We'll use your surname after the divorce. I don't want the guy's name."

"Mom, we'll be by your side no matter what happens."

"Be careful. I know, we'll take good care of ourselves."

"I hung up. See you soon."

The room was quiet again.

After some hesitation, Kazumi knocked on the door.

"Please enter . "

"Kazumi, are you still up this late?"

Kazumi did not respond and just looked at her.

"You must be hungry. I'll reheat the food, "Masashi thinks he's still mad.

Kazumi suddenly ran over and hugged her, then buried his head in her chest and started crying.

Masashi said nothing and simply stroked her hair.

"Thank you, nii-san."

This was the first time Masashi had heard him call out to her with this. She smiled . "Baka, you're my brother. You should be hungry. Let's eat first, okay?"

He nodded .

Masashi went to the kitchen and heated the food. Kazumi stood behind him quietly and watched.

— 20 —

Whether the students like it or not, the summer holidays are finally over.

Something to mention is that Naoko sensei who had only been a teacher for half a year suddenly resigned and left school. There are many versions of his resignation. Some thought she was coming home to get married, some thought she was changing jobs, and some even thought she was running away with a man. For a while, the male teachers who were aiming at him felt extremely sad and had no energy to work.

Masashi was also confused by his departure because he never said a word about it. He decided to see her in a few days.

Seeing all the younger faces in the welcoming ceremony, everyone realized that they had become senpais.

"Did you see that girl? Looks good, and has a nice body. I want to know what his name is."

"I think the one is prettier, the one with the long hair."

"That's funny."

"Go, you're two years older than him."

"New students have been growing well lately. I've already decided. The girl is mine. Don't fight with me."

"Who cares about you. I've decided it."

Second and third year students usually fight for beautiful new girls every year. Especially guys who don't have a boyfriend.

During class, teachers call their names one by one. When he reached Masashi, he stood up. "Teacher, I've changed my name. I am now Gennai Masashi. Please don't be wrong again. Thank you." Thank you."

“OK, Gennai-kun.” The teacher felt a bit awkward.

“OK, Gennai-kun.” The teacher felt a bit awkward.

The others started talking about him but he continued reading the novel as if he had not heard of it.

After class, someone looks for her.

Is that Kazumi? He went to the classroom entrance and saw a girl wearing a new school uniform instead.

The girl bowed respectfully as she looked at Masashi. "Hello, Hirota-san."

"Who are you?" Masashi thought he looked familiar but could not remember.

"Have you forgotten? I'm Nagakawa Rumi, the granddaughter of Nagakawa Kyuujirou."

"What's? You're Rumi?" He looked at her face and found that they looked very similar.

She was wearing a kendo uniform and wrapped her hair in bread like a boy when she last saw him. The pink skirt of the school uniform and putting down her hair made her appear soft and at the same time strong-willed. Plus, his face was very fair to begin with, which attracted most of the boys to peek at him.

"I'm sorry. I can't recognize you right away. Didn't you go to school in Hokkaido? Why are you here?"

"Because I want to stay beside Hirota-san to learn kendo from you. After asking permission from my father, I moved here, "He bowed again.

"Is that so? You came here alone?"

"Yes. I believe this is an opportunity to train myself. So no one else is coming with me."

"It's hard for a girl to go so far alone. You can come see me anytime you want. I have a responsibility to take care of you because you are Nagakawa's grandson."

"Thank you, Hirota-san."

"Oh, and I changed my family name. I'm now Gennai Masashi. Please don't call me Hirota again. And don't add san. Just call me by my name."

"That's not polite. Can I call you senpai?"

"Whatever. Where do you live now?"

"I rented a house in Go-Chome. Here's the address," He gave Masashi a hand-drawn map.

"Good, not farming from my house. Let's have dinner at my house tonight. I'll show you the way to my house. Wait a minute after school."

"I'll bother you tonight."

"Don't talk to a respectable person. I'm only a year older than you. People will feel weird."

Rumi giggles.

After returning to the classroom, the children besieged Masashi.

"Masashi, is that your girlfriend?"

"No, just a friend."

"Very?"

"Yes," Masashi yawned.

"Are you close to him? Can you introduce me to her?"

"No, Masashi, introduce me to him. I still don't have a boyfriend. I beg you."

"Go. You're just gonna scare him with that face of yours."

"You think you're handsome? You look like a perverted woman."

"Masashi, can you tell me his name?"

"You don't even know his name? She is Nagakawa Rumi, the most popular girl among freshmen. He is also a kendo bishoujo. You can give up now."

Masashi ignored these people and slept at the table.

Kazumi came in for an afternoon break with bentos.

"Nii-san, this is your bento. I made your favorite shrimp tempura. Do you like takoyaki tomorrow?"

"Sure, I like whatever you make."

"Very?" Kazumi looked very happy.

"of course. Oh, yeah, I'm taking a friend home for dinner tonight. Make some preparations."

"Male or female?" Kazumi's confused. Masashi had never brought a friend home before.

"A girl . "

"Oh. Is that so. I get it." He smiled strangely at her.

"What do you think, little girl. He's just a regular friend. She came here to go to school alone, so I had to look after her," Masashi tapped her head with a finger.
