The short words from the girl almost made me shudder with pleasure. I can't believe I'm the hero who will protect my beloved girl.

Well, now I'm just gonna beat this rotten Kraken demon in front of us.

Judging from any side, this Kraken is strong and different from all the Kraken who have ever attacked the world of Kuro Neko. If I had known where their nest was, my Kuro Neko family and I would have killed them.

That ridiculous reaction suddenly made me nauseous.

"Huh? Whatchu mean? How could I possibly release a Kraken? You're just gonna kill another innocent creature!" I said firmly and confidently.

"No-no! Then.."

Suddenly, the creature disappeared from before me.

"Damn!!" I was angry and panicked.

He must be after Kaede!

I began to look in all directions with a slightly exaggerated alertness, then..

"Yeah!"

That thing caught him..!

"Kaede!!" I shouted, while running towards him.

"Ohooho! I forgot to tell you. The smell of a frightened human being is very strong and delicious for every Kraken. See you in another universe, snot boy!" the creature said triumphantly, then was about to escape with Kaede.

"No..! The kaedeee!!!"

Riflexically, I grabbed a pebble at the spot and threw it as hard as I could on the injured Kraken's hand.

"Yahoo!!" the thrill of the pain, instantly gave Kaede a chance to escape.

"Kaede, jump! Hurry up!!" my orders go to the girl who is now standing on the highest rock top in that place.

"I-I'm." he said trembling.

"It's okay! Just trust me. I'm right under you and will definitely catch you!" sonorous cries.

Despite appearing very frightened and sweating coldly, the girl actually jumped up.

"good. Good girl," comforted me with a sincere smile, instantly catching Kaede's body in my arms.

Kaede's originally very pale face turned reddish and she immediately burst into tears.

"It's okay. Forgive me for telling you to hide alone. I will pay more attention to the opponents and the strategies I have to use. Now, don't stay away from me. You got it, Kaede?" I said softly to him.

Kaede nodded her head, then obediently placed herself behind me. However, a light touch from his body suddenly gave me a stun..

"You why? Shouldn't you look towards the enemy?" ask Kaede suddenly.
