CHAPTER 8. "The People Who Survived."

The Subway I'm using now finally stops in the middle of Dongho Bridge. In the midst of this chaos.

Survivors of the first scenario began to stand, watching the scene of the city that had been destroyed almost nothing left. Bodies and blood were scattered everywhere, almost all over the place every 5 steps I saw the bodies of people - with half of them still there and half gone somewhere. I saw again a bunch of monsters that I mentioned were eating the carcass of a fighter plane.

It was Ichthyosaurus told in the novel. That monster was a monster called the 'Sea Monster.'

The ichthyosaur encircled the pillars of Dongho Bridge before then turning into bubble droplets, then disappearing. In the world of the Survival Guide, a scenario is a law that can no longer be sued. As long as we are still protected by the scenario, then we will not need to face such dangerous monsters without warning. At least, maybe for now I'm safe.

Dokja came up to me, looking at me with a mixed expression.

"Aluna. the grandmother did not appear on the list of survivors-" Before Dokja finished her remark, I immediately cut her off.

"...I'm sorry, the grandmother had a terminal heart disease before she got on the train, Dokja."

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry again, but maybe it's God's destiny that can't be challenged."

I'm now explaining to Dokja how I can find out the information that Grandma has heart disease.

"I found a lot of drugs in the bag belonging to the grandmother, one of which is the drug Aspirin, Ranolazine, and Nitrates. Both (Ranolazine and Nitrate) are drugs that are both used to treat pain from heart disease. While aspirin, known as 'blood thinners' and usually consumed by people with Angina disease, namely chest pain."

"..And from there I can deduce that the grandmother had Aschemic or possibly Coronary heart disease. I don't know, what I do know for sure is that grandma had the disease long before the scenario started. And that disease is heart disease."

I apologize to Dokja again and again.

Dokja finished listening to my explanation carefully, she looked at me with a deep look. Then putting his hands on both of my shoulders, he smiled thinly. I barely realized he was smiling.

"No. Thank you for trying to save him."

"...Although it didn't produce results, did it?" I continued on Dokja's words. Dokja then kept silent for a moment to hear my words.

"It's not your fault, Aluna. If you say this is God's destiny, then we can only pray the best for him. We can't fight God's absolute destiny."

I did not get back to Dokja and suddenly, one of the Ichthyosaurs turned to the carriage of our train.

"H-hiiihh! The monsters are here!!" Han Myungoh started to panic, a while later he started to calm down a bit realizing that the monster was not here and just stared at our carriage.

I don't really bother with it even though the original was a little creepy to see an abnormally sized monster roaming around. Wanna see how those monsters won't be able to reach us if we stay on the 'channel.'

"Eh.. Not so yeah?" Han Myungoh started to calm down.

Yoo Sangah then looked towards Dokja from a distance, starting to step her feet towards me with Dokja.

"Dokja-ssi! God, are you okay?" He was worried about Dokja. Dokja smiles at him saying that he is fine. A few moments later Sangah thanked Dokja, I did not know what they were talking about because Dokja's voice with Sangah shrank as she spoke.

Yeah, I don't need to listen to what they're talking about either, because I know exactly the dialogue they're talking about from the novel. Because I'm a 'reader, ' just like Dokja.

I was beating hard. It's not that I'm just a little jealous because Sangah just asked about Dokja's condition. Although, hey?! I'm here too!

"Ekhem!!"

"A-Ah, Dal Mi-ssi apparently."

"Are you okay too, Aluna-ssi?"

"Thank God you're still aware of my existence here, and not just Dokja, Sangah-ssi." I showed her my sarcastic smile before opening my mouth again, telling her the answer to her question. "I'm fine, thank you."

"What a marvel!"

"..What's really going on here, anyway?"

I opened my mouth, "You think? Isn't it very clear?" I said a little sarcasm to Dokkaebi. I know, I might get in trouble next time like having an argument with him but I don't care.

And thank God he immediately ignored me when he saw the stars hovering above his head.

The expression on Dokkaebi's face was then completely mixed between joy and shock. The twinkling stars floated right above his head. One, two, three, four, five.. Twenty, two one. There are 21 stars on his head. Which means there are already twenty-one constellations that have entered the channel.

"duh. Thank you for all the sponsors, honorable constellations! Up to twenty people have already entered my channel!" Dokkaebi said excitedly, her eyes twinkling.

I found Dokja looking at the survivors, her attention turned to the hat boy I was saving, and now she was holding me.

Lee Gilyoung.

Yes, Gilyoung. The boy just stared blankly at the corpse of his mother who was now headless. His own mother who ignored his son then chose to participate to finish off the grandmother, which in the end, he would also die. And Gilyoung just went silent watching the scene from start to finish. Watching clearly his own mother persecute his neighbor.

A moment later I saw Dokja's face in doubt, but, in the end, she held Gilyoung's shoulder, trying to adjust her height to the boy. He seemed to be planning something, or indeed wanted to sympathize. I don't know what he's up to.

"Son, you want to survive?" Ask Gilyoung who is staring blankly while still holding my hand.

Gilyoung's eyes were shaking violently, I could feel it from her gaze. Her mind must have been filled with anxiety. His body shivered unbearably. Then, slowly he nodded his head.

"If you still want to live, then come with me and the woman beside you." Dokja looked at me for a moment, then immediately continued her words.

"Take us both like your own father and mother."

Dokja smiled happily at me. My ears are starting to heat up. In situations like this he still had time to make me blush embarrassed.

But then all the taste was gone. It simply disappeared and was replaced with my cynical look at Dokja when I saw the notification popping up.

[Some constellations admire your deeds and the character of 'Kim Dokja.']

[The constellations sponsor 500 coins for you and the character 'Kim Dokja.']

*el. I have to start activating the 'All-Knowing Future Reader' attribute skill so as not to be easily fooled by this cunning.

I*n, Kim Dokja!

[Omniscient Future Reader has been activated.]

I just remembered the man's true nature; kim Dokja was in the novel. He 'little' uses Gilyoung to draw sympathy and empathy from the constellations and get them to sponsor him. Really despicable. Dokja won't change much.

But to be honest I also want to be able to survive and prepare to face a scenario that slowly begins to get more difficult and then peaks. Inevitably, I admit that I also need a lot of sense to attract the attention of the constellations. Even if it's hypocritical.

All humans are hypocrites.

My eyes looked at Gilyoung who started holding Dokja's right hand and I held her left hand.

"Today many interesting events happened, yes. In the second carriage was also equally crazy-" Dokkaebi started babbling again, now the dialogue was cut by Myungoh.

"Then what are you going to release us now?" Han Myungoh cut through Dokkaebi's dialogue, his screaming voice heard filling the carriage. I saw his suit full of tears and bloodstains, his hair was a mess.

Dokkaebi then laughed.
