"This place is more terrifying than my shadow." Alexis looked at her.
The environment is extreme enough for living things. Aslyn's hand clasped tightly onto Alexis's hand, making the man stare at her expression that looked scared. Alexis smiled watching the girl. 'I'm going crazy' she thought to herself.
Skulls are lying in several places, there are skulls that resemble animals, there are human skulls and also skulls that have a strange shape. Their footsteps continued to lead them deeper into the valley of death.
"This place is getting creepy." Aslyn Mumbled.
"Calm down, isn't there me." Alexis looked at Aslyn.
From a distance there was a bright bluish glow. Alexis narrowed her eyes to sharpen her vision. Water is as clear as glass, reflecting light from the water.
"I can't believe I found that place." Alexis muttered happily. "Howen, what do you think?"
"It's the lake of life, at the end of the lake we'll find the devil's apple tree." Howen. "But, there's a story that says someone's guarding the place."
"I'm not afraid, I'll face it." Alexis quickly moved towards the place.
"Prince, preferably..... " Howen tried to stop Alexis but he had already left first, leaving himself and Aslyn behind.
"Don't be in a hurry, would you?" Aslyn stared at Howen.
"We have to hurry before, something happens to the prince." Howen walked quickly after Alexis.
The vast lake, Alexis circulated his gaze making sure there was something he could use to cross the lake. The calm lake Alexis eyes momentarily gazed towards the water of the lake of life, clear as a mirror. Even the inside of the lake was visible even though only darkness showed that the lake had no bottom.
While looking at the ripples of water in the middle of the lake, Alexis stared thinly observing the vibrations of the water in the lake. But there's nothing there.
"Is there a fish here?" Alexis Mumbled.
Alexis' feet skirted the edge of the lake. Watch out for the middle of the lake.
Grepp's....
A hand from inside the lake touched Alexis' feet. Alexis's eyes stared at his feet, only his hands emerging from the water. Before long a woman appeared out of the water revealing her form.
Alexis was shocked, his body frozen as if he could not move. Her green iris stared straight into Alexis's eyes. Her jet black hair was unraveling forward covering the top of her naked body.
They stared at each other without saying anything, but slowly Alexis' feet moved forward towards the lake.
"Prince stop!!!" Howen yells running towards Alexis trying to stop Alexis.
But the woman stared straight at Howen and in just a few seconds Howen was helplessly drooping. "Prince.... " Lirih Howen's.
"Mr Howen.... " Aslyn approached Howen.
"Miss... " Howen took out a silver dagger from his pocket giving it to Aslyn. "His power can only be used when he is in the lake, he will control every demon that is nearby. Only you can save the prince." Howen looked at Aslyn.
Aslyn clasped the silver dagger in her hand and nodded at Howen.
"Heart.... Egrp.... " Before Howen finished he groaned in pain.
Aslyn was shocked and looked at the woman who was still in the water. He stared intently at Howen's body lying on the ground. "Did he use the power of thought?" thought Aslyn.
THE STORY IS CONNECTED BELOW
Aslyn stood looking intently at the woman, but she just smiled towards the girl. He quickly turns to Alexis, just as Alexis's feet are about to touch the water surface Aslyn manages to pull the man in. As much as she could pull Alexis' arm away from the lake.
Alexis immediately brushed aside Aslyn's rude hand, making the girl momentarily stagger. Alexis attacked Aslyn quickly, directing every blow at the girl. But, aslyn shrewdly avoided every blow of Alexis.
"He attacked me at first." Aslyn stared at the woman inside the lake.
His green iris shone and a terrible grin appeared.
Bukkkkkkkp....
A punch landed on the girl's stomach making her bounce off her body landing on the ground. Aslyn grimaced in pain, she touched her stomach that was hit by Alexis' punch.
"Alexis!!!" Aslyn yelled out to the man in front of her, who slowly stepped closer with a blank look. "Stop.... Are you going to let someone else control you?" Shouted Aslyn once more.
But Alexis did not stop and continued to walk closer. "Don't... Makes me have to hurt you... " Aslyn pointed the silver dagger at Alexis.
But Alexis completely ignored Aslyn's words, as if he had heard nothing he kept walking closer preparing to take a swing for the final blow. Aslyn closed her eyes, preparing to feel more pain than she currently felt.
Flakes of gravel scattered, fresh blood seen floating among the small pebbles. Aslyn's eyes were wide open, her brown iris staring straight at the blue iris of the man before her, a gentle and friendly smile that was different from usual.
"You okay?" Whisper with a soft voice.
Aslyn stared silently, as if another magic power was mastering her. 'Deg's... Degs.. Deg.' the sound of his heartbeat sounded louder than before.
"A... L'm... "
Alexis stretched out her hand to help the girl before her to get up. Aslyn's eyes were fixed on the back of Alexis' injured hand. "It's hard to control myself when I'm away from you." Alexis smile.
"Your eyes??" Aslyn was still staring at Alexis.
"See more like a human?" Alexis smile. "Just happened a couple of times, we better get back to focusing on him." Alexis looked at the woman in the lake who was now staring at Alexis filled with hatred.
"Hmmm... " Aslyn was still holding her stomach which was hit by Alexis' punch.
"Sorry for that." Alexis looked at Aslyn's hand.
"You're not intentional." Answer Aslyn briefly. "What's the plan?"
"Howen can't help." Alexis stared at Howen who was still writhing in pain. "Either what he did in his mind, I couldn't hold on any longer because that would be me distracting him. Finish him off once, attack, you understand?"
"Hm." Aslyn nodded steadily.
Alexis unsheathed his sword, preparing to attack the woman. Alexis moved quickly towards the woman, swinging her sword but she quickly slid away from the mainland. Alexis narrowed her eyes and smiled. The sword in his hand in an instant turned into a silver arrow. In his other hand appeared a silver bow with an end to emasan.
"Be prepared!" Alexis stretched out his bow aiming at the opponent who was now hiding within the lake.
"But, he... "
"Aslyn, you have to remember this well. No one can escape me." For a moment Alexis looked at Aslyn who was standing not far from him.
"He called my name" Aslyn said inwardly.
Alexis released her arrows, quickly sliding arrows rapidly splitting the water of the lake.
Crepppp... Greepp...
A golden chain emerged from within the lake hurtling rapidly towards Alexis, easily catching and pulling his catch. Alexis pulled the girl from the lake by force. But the woman kept fighting. He tried to dive into the depths of the lake. However, Alexis jerked the chain in his hand forcing the lake dweller to climb up.
Eventually, the woman could be taken to the mainland. The gold chain tied his waist. The upper part of his body was human and the lower part of his body looked like a tail. The elongated tail of the fish is more snake-like, but not scaly and has fins on its arms. Her green iris stared ferociously at Alexis. The tail still plunges into the lake.
"It seems easier than.... Egggh..." Alexis' head was pulsing again.
"Al, you're okay... " Aslyn touched Alexis' shoulder in dismay.
"Agggrrrh... " Axis groaned loudly in pain as she touched her head withstanding every jolt she felt in her head.
The woman grinned she extended her hand towards Alexis and with ease Alexis' body floated quickly towards the woman.
"ALEXIS!!!!" Shouted Aslyn in panic.
Alexis' neck was in the woman's grip. "There's nothing you can do for a child" a voice in Aslyn's mind shocked the girl and looked around looking for the origin of the voice. Aslyn looked at the woman but her lips did not move at all. "I don't have the ability to kill or control humans, but there's nothing a weak human can do like you. Surrender!! Everyone near you will die in the end."
Aslyn was speechless, lowered her head in thinking about every single one of her memories. How his family was brutally slaughtered for having served King Adrian and sided with him. How he survived with his mother in hiding, how his mother had to die of illness. Every sorrow he felt all this time came back.
The woman smiled happily and turned to Alexis who was enduring her pain. "So, you're a descendant of the crafty Erebos. The cunning devil who promised me freedom and he just used me and stole water from my lake. I'm gonna take every pain out of my heart on him right now." The woman tightened the grip of her hand on Alexis' neck. Makes it more painful. "Dead you...!!!"
Crepp......
The woman's green eyes stared down, the silver dagger had lodged in her left chest piercing through her heart. The pitch-black blood slowly flowed down, changing the color of the clear water to blackness. The woman took off her grip on Alexis and stared fiercely at Aslyn. He quickly darted towards the girl pulling her into the lake of life.
"Yeah..... " Aslyn shouted loudly.
Her tiny body was dragged swiftly towards the lake. "Gghbhh... " Alexis is still trying to get up. Resisting the pain he felt.
The woman gripped Aslyn's neck firmly, her hands slowly beginning to wrinkle. The woman took Aslyn into the lake. Aslyn tried to take off the hand on her neck, her feet constantly kicking at the water. Making the air in her lungs thin, the woman smiled triumphantly.
".......My curse is now yours for long...."
Slowly Aslyn's consciousness began to dissipate, her vision began to blur. The memory of his parents is now back. "So, is this how someone would die? Dad, mom I miss you guys." Inner Aslyn with resignation.
