HAVE WE BEEN DEVOTED TO FATHER AND MOTHER?

HAVE WE BEEN DEVOTED TO FATHER AND MOTHER?

That worship is two parts, it seems we all already know. First, the worship of the body. To practice it needs to be a real, visible act, involving the movement of our limbs. Such as prayers, alms, hajj, and others.

Second, worship of the heart. Such as sincere, kind-hearted, ridha, forgiving, and others. Everything is invisible, because it is in the heart. Do not forget that this worship of the heart is equally rewarded by God for those of us who do it, just like the worship of the body.

Until here is clearly not the difference between worship of the body and worship of the heart?

Well, then we proceed to the following question; is filial devotion to the parents included from the worship of the body or worship of the heart? Well, this should be slowly discussing it.

Referring to Surat Al-Isra verse 23, it turns out that the Quran gives an example that devotion to parents includes worship of the body. In that verse, we are forbidden to say "ah" and are forbidden to answer in high tones, instead being told to say noble words to parents.

Continue next to verse 24, the commandment to pray for our parents. It is also still talking about oral worship, which is of course included in the category of body worship.

So filial piety to parents does need a real, visible, involving the movement of our limbs. For example, hastening when ordered something, or giving happiness with a gift that they like.

But as soon as we continue the verse Al-Isra verse 25, it seems that here God is talking about the heart.

رَبُّكُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا فِي نُفُوسِكُمْ

"Your Lord knows better what is in your heart."

Ulama explained, this verse wants to teach us that filial devotion to parents also involves worship of the heart, not just worship of the body.

How many of us would seem obedient if their parents said this and that. Or always obey and say courtesy to his father and mother.

It turned out that in his heart he held unfavorable prejudices to his parents. Or maybe underestimate the stubborn and conservative outlook of parents.

It could also be in the form of loving them both not wholeheartedly, so that when compared to the love for valuables he has, his feelings of love for parents are still lower.

There are many more examples that show how a child turns out his heart has not been devoted to parents. Remember, heart. Not bodies.

Perhaps this is why our lives have not been blessed, nor has sustenance been abundant. Has anyone held our prayers hostage so far that they will not be granted? Though we feel there is no problem in service to parents.

The answer is, maybe our service is just a body. Try self-mutilation, not closed possibility we have not been devoted to using the heart.

Hijrah Hail.
