PARLORS DIE

PARLORS DIE
WELCOME TO ....

"So, for all this time, Auntie will take care of you" said the woman who smiled broadly.

Sindi and Reza were shocked. I also just kept quiet.

The master whispered softly with the woman in front of him. I can't hear any talk from them. After that, the woman nodded slowly.

The master then walked over, he went out of the house. I don't know where he's going, which is for sure he's back at work or whatever the organization is.

The woman smiled looking around the room. After that, the gaze changed towards us. Staring at us one by one sharply.

"Let me introduce myself... Aunt's name is Jelita...Just call me aunt... Although it was a bit embarrassing for me who still looked like a young woman... Well now, introduce your names one by one."

She smiled warmly, but it was visible from her eyes and the tone of her voice that, this woman was just theatrical, covering up all her hypocrisy.

"Why are you quiet." she smiled forcefully.

"..."

"Your eyes think of me as an enemy" he continued in a soft voice.

I just realized that Reza, Sindi, and my brother Kevin were staring at the woman intently and vigilantly. Same with me. My other sisters looked at him anxiously.

"Yes if you don't want to introduce yourself... It's almost night time, I'd better prepare dinner for us!" shouting smile.

I remember the chairs and the rope in the backyard. If the woman heads to the kitchen, then she will pass through the dining room.

Nawat, chairs.

The woman then walked away from us.

I need to get to the backyard.

I ran out of the house, Reza and Sindi ran after me. They think the same as me. The brothers looked at us in astonishment.

I had to head to the backyard, by passing through the front yard, then towards the small gap between the house and the fence that was beside the yard.

If I had gotten to the backyard quickly. I would then have Sindi hold back or watch the exit from the kitchen. As for Reza and I, hiding those messy chairs immediately.

With that in mind, I have reached the backyard. I saw the woman pensively looking at the rope dangling.

This woman is too fast! ...Or are we late?

My run stopped, as did Reza and Sindi. The woman then realized the three of us had just arrived. He looked at us with a surprised smile and raised one of his eyebrows.

"You're planning to run away, aren't you?"

We did not have time to answer, he held the rope and then pulled it as hard as possible until it broke. We were surprised.

This woman is strong too...

"This man.." muttered Reza.

"...You three are the oldest kids who know about behind this parlour, right?" tanyakanya.

"It must be hard to accept the painful reality" he continued.

This fellow...This woman, too dangerous. Besides being fast and strong, he knew that the three of us knew the truth.

The sounds of footsteps rang out, coming from inside the house, making the woman turn towards him. They were sisters, who were staring at us and the shattered chairs were astonished.

"Ah... Looks like there's a problem here, how about we clean up?" the woman smiled at the brothers.

The woman intended to hide something in front of the sisters. But maybe the brothers realized it.

~|~|~

We have finished cleaning and putting back the seats that are still fit for use. The seats are reduced, but still enough for the people who are in this house.

The woman who called herself 'auntie' went somewhere, which is certain she is still in this house. Maybe he was in my room to clean up something.

Now we are in the kitchen to wash the cutlery. I mean, Sindi was washing the cutlery alone, and Reza and I were just waiting for her.

"How about this, our next plan?" ask Reza to be confused.

I just sit back and think. There is no plan I have. Everything is almost impossible. The aunt will definitely be watching the suspicious movements of the three of us. Besides, the aunt was too fast and strong.

"I had no idea at all." I said slowly, "Some of the chairs had been broken, and the clothesline had been snatched away by the young aunt" I continued.

"Huh...?" said it.

"Part of the chairs have been destroyed, and the clothesline has been robbed by the aunt" I repeated.

"No, no! Besides," exclaimed the astonished Reza.

"Huh...?" say me.

"Kok even 'Huh...?' ...Sindi you heard Yayan not talking about what auntie was?"

"Huh...?" sindi.

"Not so" he lamented.

Pfft.

After Reza said that, a silent atmosphere came. I came back to think of a plan—seeking impressions that could cause despair.

I looked at Sindi who had finished washing the cutlery. He then wiped his wet hands with a cloth.

By the way, the food the aunt made was pretty good. As I devoured the first feed, I stared at the food in astonishment. Next, we just went silent chewing each other's food until it ran out.

While thinking about the food, I remembered something. Then I gasped and ran straight to the dining room.

When I arrived, I raised the corner of my lips. Fits my hunch—

This long tablecloth can be used.

Reza and Sindi caught up with me from behind, they both looked at me in astonishment. I touched and rubbed the tablecloth slowly.

Reza looked at my hand in astonishment. Then he realized something.

"This tablecloth could one day be as useful as a rope" he said with a cheerful smile.

Right enough.

"But, how do we use it as a rope?" ask Sindi.

True too, this cloth can not be used by rope like yesterday, because we do not have enough seats to climb the fence.

Reza and I were silent. Think of a smart and effective plan.

Then the plan is...

~|~|~

There's none. There are no plans we have. God fucking.

Reza had fallen asleep, tired of thinking too much. I also feel sleepy because I think a lot.

I am currently staring at the ceiling. Besides being sleepy, I also felt dizzy with this truth.

Isn't this too cruel? My pure family that used to be broken up. The family that I wanted to always run smoothly, instead slipped and fell apart. Without me realizing it, this family will be destroyed as well. No. gabe... This family was destroyed from the beginning without me knowing. Everything I thought was going smoothly turned out to be just an illusion.

"Come on...Focus think of plans, don't waste time" I murmured slowly.

I scratched and squirmed my head. Then, my gaze was fixed to the left corner of the attic. There I saw a triplex in the shape of a box. The other triplex is rectangular.

Triplex is open?

I stood up, walked down below. I looked at him curiously. Then my mind came to throw something up there. I took off my shirt and threw it towards that different triplex.

The sound of my shirt cloth hitting the triplex was not too loud. After I noticed, the triplex was pushed and half-opened.

It's obviously possible to go to his roof. But if not wrong, the roof of this house uses precarious. Well then, if I want to go up on that roof, I have to get out of the sidelines of the attic and kick the roof open. After that I will jump to the nearest fence by passing through the roof, towards the side of the house.

It was a good plan, but it was dangerous because it could make a loud noise to wake up aunty. So we have to use barriers or transitions.

Tomorrow, I will definitely talk to the two of them!

~|~|~

I explained about something I found last night to Reza and Sindi.

"Meanwhile, we only have one chance to destroy that roof" Reza said, thinking.

I nodded, "We must first try how to ride it," I said.

"How?" ask Sindi.

I was thinking about that question. If we use the chairs, it's too risky. The aunt would definitely suspect a reduced chair or us lifting the chair into the room.

"What about the mattresses that are stacked," said Reza spontaneously.

"Yes, it can be! ...Reza, we both go to our room, and we keep trying your way...And Sindi, you just wait in the living room, watch the hallway of the mother's room. It could be an aunt in it."

Sindi nodded, "Okay, I'll keep it in the living room. I'll tap the room twice for a sign if someone comes near" he said.

Me and Reza nodded, then left Sindi for our room, a room for men. After until we rushed to lift the mattresses until it piled up.

"The tables are many, but not too thick..." Complain Reza.

Then he looked around, and he realized something.

"Yan, under the mattress we stacked, the base was like it could."

I looked in the direction Reza pointed out, towards the small closet where her clothes belonged. Cube shaped that legged and has three drawers covered.

I just remembered, we have a small closet to store each item. Because we have four people staying in this room, this room has four tables. But other than that, there were still two more at the end of the room there that were unused. We had six small closets in this room.

"Oh yes it seems to work," I said excitedly.

We both arranged and divided the six cabinets into two rows. Then we removed the mattresses attached to the edge frame. Then stack it on top of these little cabinets.

After putting together and piling up, then I climbed up the bed slowly with Reza.

Slowly, but this is not a waste of time. We have stood on the top of the highest bed. Yet... It's not up yet for me and Reza to touch that triplex. So we both had to carry one of us.

"Reza, get on my shoulder, let me try to lift you up."

Reza nodded, and I lowered my head to prepare. Reza climbed on my shoulder slowly and held onto the wall. Reza was already sitting on my shoulder, I stood up to lift him up. But these mattresses vibrate to make my balance thin.

One hand held the wall to hold the balance. I slowly built my body up.

Reza now feels lighter. It was because he was embracing and entering his body into the attic above me. Seen his head from below staring around him in astonishment.

"What's wrong?" my many.

"It seems, this is where they put up the wires for the lights," he muttered, still looking around.

"Try holding on to it, what does it feel like?"

He then held something on it.

"It's precarious... It might break open if it's hit hard."

Just like I thought yesterday.

After that Reza saw me under astonishment.

"But, getting up here is hard."

It is true, therefore—

"You with Sindi, in time for the escape, you came out of the roof and jumped into the fence. Then you put up that rope from that tablecloth for the sisters and Sindi."

"I still don't understand... How did Sindi and I use the rope from that tablecloth?"

"You use it when you're down and in front of an iron fence...Then you throw one end of the rope inward from above. One of the sisters would hold it, for example Nia. When Nia is already tightly holding the rope, you two pull it so she can lift it up."

"How to get down?"

Then I thought. Scratching my head in confusion.

The descent... I haven't thought about that. If the sisters jumped from the top to get out, it was too dangerous.

"I go down first" said Reza, jumping and landing on the bed.

The mattresses under me were shaking because of him. But fortunately, the mattress is stuck with this corner wall, so that the mattress shake is not too severe.

Reza then smiled proudly. He stared at this bed.

"The mattress is soft, and can be pressed into a little bit. With that, we can get it out through the sidelines of the iron fence."

I then smiled cheerfully, "You're right, this mattress can hold us from the fence later!"

Reza smiled.

Thinking together is good. This is the plan we planned. It seems slowly that hope will be fulfilled.

"Now all that's left is, a plan to dissuade aunt from getting in our way!" myrag.

The door suddenly opened slowly, leaving me and Reza shocked to freeze.

"Plan's blocking aunt?" asked the person coldly, looking at me and Reza sharply and suspiciously.

Sindi didn't give a signal? Where is she!?
