36. The figure at Leni's house

They both look at each other. The eye muscles were showing a heavy grudge in both of their eyeballs.

"How are you, Habibi?" ask that figure.

"How come you're still loyal to your master, Jakhar?"

" What's why? Aren't you the same as me?" jakhar asked humbly.

"What are you still here for? Isn't it obvious that he won't be able to come out again?"

"Who said that? My master will definitely be out in a moment. You better not take care of our business. What you should be worried about is yourself and your people. You know what happens when you get up?"

"Obviously such a thing would never happen. Because I will prevent it and won't let anyone open that door even if I have to bet lives!" challenge Habibi.

"But I see your daughter's grown up?" ask Jakhar.

"Hey! Don't you ever touch my daughter!" habibi said firmly. He pulled Jakhar's body with just a hand gesture. Then gripped tightly the black robe that was always worn by Amon's men. Habibi stared at the creature with the type of human who had plotted with the genie.

Jakhar is a human who has plotted with a demon named Amon. He had possessed the black magic that had been given by Amon, his master. Jakhar became one of the immortal beings. He joined Amon about 50 years ago. He was a faithful follower who would always find every way to get Amon out of his prison. Through Jakhar, Amon can communicate with the human world. That was the reason why he was able to find Amanda first, as well as bring the girl into the old well.

The figure of Jakhar now resembles a demon or a demon. His body could easily disappear when he wanted to. He lives in the forest. Guarding the grave of Ammon and also looking for human remains for himself. Jakhar should be 100 years old. But he still looks strong young and does not even look the same if he is actually old. It's all because of the loss of alms that he always sacrificed every full moon arrived. Not only that, Jakhar looks stronger than before.

Quickly, he was able to turn things around. Habibi was hit with one hand until he bounced back. Feeling challenged, Habibi then grinned. The blow he received did not necessarily make him retreat. Habibi felt challenged to attack again and again. Moreover, their long meeting was like a nostalgia.

Both are strong enough to fight each other. Although Habibi's age is no longer young, his ability is increasing. Just like Jakhar. Thirty years, not a minute, but he managed to increase his knowledge.

"How many humans have you killed?" habibi asked between their fights.

"Haha. You don't need to know. Hows it? My ability has improved a lot, hasn't it? You can't beat me anymore especially with your age getting older."

"Never underestimate anyone! Come on, we fight back!" habibi said firmly.

Jakhar has been imprisoned all this time. He continued to be on top of the old well. Sometimes he changes. Become another figure. He will deceive man into his trap. Jakhar made man as the victim of his black magic. His immature body was obtained from the lives of many people. He became an immortal by inhaling the souls of human souls who had been caught off guard and were willing to become his own followers.

The existence of Jakhar is no longer in doubt. He conspired with a shaman named Ki Jodo. Ki Jodo is a powerful shaman, famous for granting all his patients requests. Starting from wealth, office, women, even immortality. Most patients who come more often ask for wealth. One of them is Wati.

Wati is a mother with one child named Bayu. They live in Jogjakarta. It is located in the Sleman area. She was a widow, left behind by her husband for no apparent reason. Wati now lives from selling souvernir in Malioboro. Even the sales business can be categorized as a joint venture together. Most of his family were also merchants there. What they sell is not the same as the others. But the shophouses they had were close to each other.

"Leni how are you, Mba? Have you returned from Borneo? Kok did not bring by to the house," said Wati quipped her brother who was in the suffering of his right side.

The atmosphere of Malioboro this afternoon feels lonely. Especially because now is not the time for holidays or weekends. Some sellers are still selling as usual. It does not matter whether their sales will sell or vice versa. At least they have worked hard, and there are only God's provisions regarding the windfall that they will receive.

Retno simply smiled without looking at her cousin's sister. He was busy tidying up the negligee that had been chosen by the buyer, even though in the end they only bought one pair. But Retno was not complaining at all.

"Away from Kalimantan time do not buy anything to, Mba?" Back Wati quipped Retno for not getting any reaction.

Finally Retno could not bear the morning to respond to the words of Wati. He finished the clean-up event then looked at Wati while taking a deep breath.

Wati's attitude, which often does not understand the conditions and situations of others, often makes Retno upset. Retno always tries to be patient. He never tried to retaliate for what Wati did. And always try to be gentle to his cousin's sister.

"Here, Leni was lost because of her own actions anyway? That's Karma because she's often being rude to me!" Sindir Wati with a thick Javanese language accent.

Retno no longer responds to Wati's words. Her husband came to get her home. Today the store will close early.

His family plans to give thanks for the return of his daughter, Leni. Especially after everything that happened and experienced by Leni in Kalimantan, certainly makes Retno very anxious. Can not be imagined if something bad happened to the Princess only wayangnya it.

"Have you closed, Mommy?"  tanya Wati looks cynical when she notices Retno who tidied up her wares, and put in the shophouse.

"Yes, Wat. I'm gonna go get some food ready. I want to have a study at home. You're coming, yeah."

"the study? What show, Mba?"

"Give thanks for Leni's return. Yeah, I'm home first, Wat."

Wati Stare full of cynics and sentences that continue to condemn the Retno family.

In the evening, the recitation in order to thank Leni's return to the arms of her family went smoothly. Ratna had asked other relatives for help to cook the dish, even she also contributed to the busyness in the kitchen for the smoothness of the evening event.

Since returning from Kalimantan, Leni has spent more time in the room. It is undeniable that what he has experienced before is enough to make his mentality not okay.

He was more silent, daydreaming, and spending time in his room alone. Of course that made Retno worried. He was afraid something bad happened to his daughter. Especially with the news that has been circulating about how mystical the land of Borneo.

"Leni, eat first, yuk. Mom cook vegetable asem tuh. You haven't had dinner, have you?"

"No, Ma. Later on. Hungry yet. I ate a lot of snacks on that."

Their house looks messy. Glass of warm tea containers scattered everywhere in the corner of the living room in the middle of the room there is even a tea that spilled and wet the mat. Now it's Leni's job and her mother to clean up the house before taking a break tonight.

Leni's father was going to his grandmother's house to deliver food.  Living in the village makes the distance of the house between brothers close to each other. Even Leni's house seemed to be surrounded by the houses of her other brothers. This is the tradition in the villages. Their parents I have enough land that the land will be divided for each of their children who are married.

One of the characteristics of the village community is gotong royong. Almost all work is done collectively. Like planting or harvesting, and setting up a house.

In practice, someone who has such a goal to set up a house, usually comes to the house of the surrounding residents to ask for help. The actions of the person are more about respect for the neighbors. Because if not asked for help, the surrounding community is certainly still present to help. Without command, the public would flock to help from morning to evening. Even willing to leave the job, in order to fulfill the wishes of his brother. Meanwhile, a group of wives also came to the house while carrying rice and sugar.

Actually, the spirit of gotong royong is the innate nation of Indonesia. Not surprisingly, this spirit is referred to as the essence of Pancasila. Because it can represent the face of the real nation. In the matter of helping, there is an unwritten agreement everyone is obliged to help people in need. Although this tradition can exist and occur in urban communities, it must be recognized that rural communities are more adept at practicing it.

In addition, tolerance becomes a characteristic feature of villagers. Familiarity, reprimand, warm communication, and mutual respect are the daily attitudes of the village community. These characters are embedded so that conflict can be suppressed. The village community benefits from geographical conditions. Conflicts that often occur in big cities are not transmitted massively to the villagers.

Leni's house is on the North side of her grandmother's house. In the East is the house of his cousin Wati in the west of the house named Darman then in the South of the house of his sister Retno named Nilam.

According to family genealogy, Reni's grandmother had 4 surviving children. 3 Children who have been dead for a long time. Retno is the 2nd of 4 children. While Wati is the last child who has a relatively young age. At a young age, Wati has lived a widow with a child named Bayu. Since long ago, Wati did not like the Retno family. Not infrequently Wati and Leni get into a fight.

That night Leni went into the room. He is easily tired even for activities that are fairly easy. New clock shows at 10 p.m. Leni who just finished her college assignment now wants to get into bed and sleep. Just as he climbed onto the mattress while closing his eyes and hugging the bolster, Leni was startled by the scratching sound on the wall. He sharpened his hearing to know the source of the sound. It's just that Leni who is curious then look for the source of the sound. Strangely, when Leni continues to search for the sound, the sound actually disappears. Leni peeked out from behind her room horden. In front of her bedroom window was an unkempt cassava garden.

Finally Leni was surprised when she looked at the cassava garden in front of her, vaguely Leni saw a white shadow standing among the banana trees
